Jakafi

I have been on clinical trial 2 yrs for myelofibrosis and wanted to know is anyone's health insurance is paying for drug in case clinical trial ends. What is approximate cost a month as I have seen it is $7000 month on another website. Any info would be appreciated. Thank You ## That is about the same estimated price that I am seeing listed everywhere, which is pretty normal for these types of medications, especially being this new. Where can Jakafi be bought

does anybody have an idea how can Jakafi be bought outside the united states? what is the price? ## I got Jakafi through my doctor for the treatment of myelofibrosis. We had to fill out an application for it from the pharmacuetical company, "Incyte". It has not been made available to local pharmacies, only through the way I just described. ## That is correct, it is currently still in the investigational stage, so it hasn't actually been approved and isn't publicly available anywhere, which also means that there is no price to give anyone. You can learn more about it here: Are there any other questions or comments? ## I am in Indonesia at the moment, and my dad's doctor recommended him to try JAKAFI. But it is only still available in US. My dad is feeling horrible at ...

My wife is on tasigna for over a year now and has gad some moderate heart problems first a slim heart rate 50bpm then latter up to 170bpm. Not on the same day. But also a lot of unexplained pains. Dr says it's not tasigna but only started happening once started on them ## According to the U.S. FDA it can cause those types of symptoms as side effects. Efudex-40 (fluorouracil)

all information about this medication ## I have been told to apply Efudex to my lower lip, isn't this crazy? ## Not really. It is listed in the drug monograph that it can be used topically to treat certain cancerous or possibly cancerous conditions. ## Has anyone used it on their lips? Won't it just keep bleeding non-stop? ## Heidi- I've used it on my lips three times. Each time it was an application morning and at bedtime. Though about the second week it gets very sensitive and blister-like lesions appear that means it's working. I applied a product called Acquafor (like Vaseline Jelly) to seal it and protect). The healing takes some time but the outcome is worth it. ## I just used Efudex for 2 weeks on lower lip. from day 7 blistered and ulcerated and wept and crusted....

what are famynor tablets for

Hi, I've had abnormal/irregular periods since I started my periods. They've been on and off since day 1. I would go for months without any sign of bleeding or spotting. Three years back I would spot for weeks and after it would be a normal period; last year an unusual spotting started to come in a brown color. It went on for weeks as well. I then went to the nearest clinic n got famynor which stopped the spotting. In between the month of usage the spotting came back as periods and the famynor couldn't stop the bleeding, only to find a huge clot that came out and I thought my problem was solved. On that same week I went through my normal periods without any pain whatsoever but the bleeding was heavy at first n it just slowed as time went on. On the following month it was a us...

Discontinuing Megestrol Treatment

I'm elderly and have been taking megestrol, but would like to come off most of my meds... Is there an adjustment period or can you come off of megestrol fast? ## Hi Jerry, May I ask how long you've been taking Megestrol for? Often times, if someone has taken a medication long enough, there can be physical or psychological adjustment periods simply because the body is being cut off a chemical that it was used to having, even when the substance is benign in nature or non-habit-forming. However, if it's been a short while (say a few months or so), then in my opinion I don't see any reason why someone wouldn't be able to stop taking this medication cold turkey. On the other hand, because everyone reacts/responds differently (due to various underlying factors), the only w...

Opdivo (nivolumab) reviews

I had stage 3b subungual melanoma and after they did an amputation of my thumb and lymph nodes dissection, they lowered it to 2b, but when the results came back they said I'm cancer free yet still want me to take opdivo (nivolumab). Does anyone have any experience with this? ## That is normal, just in case some cancer cells were missed by the testing, most people are told to continue takint the relevant medication for a certain period of time. The FDA lists its most common side effects as possibly including nausea, fatigue, muscle/joint pain, and decreased appetite. There is also a warning regarding the possibility of severe inflammation of some organs of the body, they are immune mediated. Has anyone else been on this medication? Congrats on beating cancer! ## I’ve been on op...
