is it safe to take 8 pills of eryko 250 per day?

my stamach is paining after i take 2 pills of eryko 250 at a sametime as dr told me to take 2 pills every 4 hours which means 8 pills per day. So what i should do as my stamach keep paining? ## are you taking the ERKO short term? it sounds like a "stack" dose. You could be allergic. Antibiotics are hard on the stomach, you may need to call your dr. you may be allergic to them. ## @Thabanie, "Just want to help" may be correct, you could be allergic to Eryko 250. However, Eryko 250 contains the antibiotic Erythromycin which can cause Gastrointestinal disturbances- such as: diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, and vomiting. Those side effects are very common so you may just need to ask your doctor for another antibiotic. If you're experiencing any nausea, I've read tha...

Strong Antibiotic For Sinus And Ear Infection

Had an ear infection for many years now, (6 years)which flares up every now and then. Go to the Doctors and get antibiotics, drops etc but it still comes BACK! Latest round of tablets now all gone, (Ciprofloxacin tablets prescribed this time) But can feel the pain coming back. Beside myself, enough is enough what can I do now??? ## Have you consulted an ear, nose and throat specialist? In such cases, it usually isn't the same infection ongoing, but something that is making your prone to get infections on a regular basis. This can sometimes happen to people who have a shape abnormality in their ear canals, or something wrong with their sinuses. Only a proper exam and testing is going to help you get to the root of the problem and find a solution. ## If it is a persistent MIDDLE ear i...

can i cut bactrim tmp in half for my dog

I have a 25-28 lb. Pug. She has an ear infection, and I have no money for the vet. I do have some Bactrim that I had a reaction to, and I am wondering if I can cut it in half to give her? I know we used to use Bactrim ?TMP when I worked in an animal shelter, but that was over 20 years ago, and I don't remember the dosages. Thank you. ## Hi Sherry, Based on my research, the usual initial dose of Bactrim for dogs is listed at 13 milligrams per pound, to be taken twice daily (12 hours apart). So for a 28lb dog, that would bring each dose to 364 milligrams (13 x 28 =364), amounting to a total daily dose of 728 milligrams (364 x 2 =728). However, just to be on the safe side it would probably still be a good idea to also contact your local veterinary office with a simple inquiry regarding...

Started taking turmeric (curcumin) and I'm allergic to penicillin

I started taking turmeric (curcumin) for inflammation and I'm allergic to penicillin. Can I take the turmeric (curcumin)? ## They are not related, but it is always best to be cautious when you start taking anything new, especially over the counter supplements, since they are not usually tested for interactions, or contraindications with most prescription medications, and various health conditions. You should also be aware that Turmeric is not FDA approved to treat any condition, nor have any studies proven it effective. The best I can tell you is that it tastes great, when I cook with it, although it does have a habit of staining some plasticware, such as my steamer baskets. LOL It also makes a great substitute with other spices, if you can't afford Saffron, or just don't wa...

100 mg macrobid with 500 mg naproxen

Can naproxen 500mg be taken for pain while on macrobid 100 mg for a bladder infection? I am being treated for a uti, takng macrobid 100mg, but I'm also experiencing pain in my legs for which I would take a naproxen 500mg. ## I didn't find any problems, or interactions listed between them, but it is always best to double check to be sure. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this antibiotic as possibly including nausea, dizziness, diarrhea, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. Are you on any other medications? ## I was taking this too and had similar pain. My doctor told me to stop taking it and prescribed a different antibiotic. Four days later, I am still experiencing the pain in my feet and legs. They added it to my (short) list of allergies to medications.

penicillin vk 500mg tabs

penicillin ## I have recently been prescribed Penicillin Vk 500 mg from a doctor. I was in SO much pain from my peridontal disease,(from my infection under my teeth), that the pain was excruciating. i went to an emergency hospital instead of a dentist. I have looked up this medication and it describes this certain medication to be used for throat, not an infection. Is this right? have you heard of anyone else being prescribed this medicine for a gum? mouth problem? ## This is a general antibiotic, it is used to treat many different types of infection, not just those of the throat or any other specific part of the body. I took it many times for dental infections. Here's a link to the monograph for more information: Broad spectrum antibiotics, such as this one, can be used to treat ma...

Cipro vs Cleocin

I have no known other allergies except for Ciprofloxacin which almost killed me. If my lab work hadn't checked out, they were going to put me on dialysis. Currently my dentist prescribed Cleocin. Is there a conflict? I have taken Amoxicillin, Penicillin, and Augmentin with no side effects. Please help ## Did you get a response at all? I took this med recently and am having some real issues but so far the doctor doesn't believe it relates to this med. I'm having difficulty walk and distance and feel very weak... and often have trouble breathing. ## They are different medications, David, but when someone is allergic to one medication, there is always a risk of discovering more that that cause allergic reactions. What types of symptoms did you experience? The FDA lists the typi...
