I took a week's prescription of Augmentum (28 doses) followed by 8 days of Clindamycin....the former was for an infection in my sphenoid sinus, the latter for an emergency dental issue requiring a root canal. My sinus condition is still unresolved. I have been warned that too much antibiotic can cause an intestinal condition that is very dangerous. I had an extraction on an abscess tooth about a week ago. Since I've been on clindamycin I've been sleepy and tired all the time. A little confusion as well, not much, but enough for me to notice. Is it normal for you to feel tired? I feel drowsy all the time since I've been taking it. ## This is a more rare side effect, but yes it does happen. Your body is fighting an infection of sorts. If they the capsules have been in a bottle that was dispensed by your pharmacy, which exposed them to the elements, they have an expiration date of one year from the date you received them. After that time, they will start to degrade and will no longer be as effective. At that point, it's best to dispose of them, due to the risk of developing antibiotic resistance if you take them. My nose continues to stuff up even after taking my prescribed drug, Clindamycin. I am finishing a 7 day dose of clindamycin 300 mg taken once every 8 hours on Friday, which leaves me with no weekend coverage if dental infection isn't gone. I just started taking Clindamycin and I'm on my third day. And Cefuroxime Axetil was recently prescribed to me this day after routine check up.
