Phenoxymethylpenicillin dosing protocol

The dosing guidelines say to take 2 tablets every 6 hours, but previously said 2 tablets four times a day. At 250mgs, how should I take these for tonsillitis? ## Hello, Kim! How are you? Taking them every 6 hours is the same as taking them 4 times a day. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. Thus, you should follow your doctor's dosing instructions. Is there anything else I can help with? ## 2 tablets 4 times a day is like 8 am 12noon 4 pm 8pm .2 tablets every 6 hours you are only getting 3 doses in unless your going to get up again early hours to take . how much dosage do I need?

My best friend recently found out she had an std most likely gonorrhea she wanted to know if penicillin would clear it up completely ? ## Has she consulted her doctor? She should really do so to get a proper diagnosis and treatment. It isn't good to try to play a guessing game on what it is and self-treat. Yes, if it is an STD, there are many that Penicillin can clear up, but if isn't, then it may just make the problem worse.

penicillin V - correct dosage

I have 500 mg capsules of penicillin V. What is the correct daily dosage for an adult wieghing about 145 lbs? ## 500mgs is a normal, adult dosage, though sometimes it is adjusted according to the severity of the infection being treated. We aren't medical professionals, though, what has your doctor suggested you take? This is an antibiotic, so common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help you with?
