Polymyxin B Sulfate Ear Drops (Side Effects)

Hi - I was diagnosed with an inner ear bacterial infection, that I'm treating with Polymyxin B (with Sulfate) - no other antibiotic in the ear drops. I'm on my 3rd day of treatment and feeling better but still have some itching and noticing signs of constipation. Is this normal? How long should I use these drops? ## You should follow the prescribing instructions regarding the duration of use. The itching and constipation can be side effects that some people experience from using it, according to FDA reports. You may also experience ear redness, irritation, and drainage. The sulfate is not an additional ingredient, it just specifies the precise chemical salt the medication has been derived from. How are you doing, now? Has there been any change?

ear ache.8 month old

Can you use neomycinand polymyxin b sulfates and hydrocortisone otic suspension on an 8 months old ear ## Hello, Shae! How are you and your child? Please do not use anything on such a young child, without their doctor's approval. At that age, it is far too easy to overdose them, or possibly cause damage to their delicate ears and ear drums. It would be best for your child to take them to their pediatrician and have them prescribe the proper medication, if they have an ear infection. The FDA lists the typical side effects of these ear drops as possibly including dizziness, headache, ear stuffiness and drainage. Is there anything else I can help with?

Terramicina Pomada

can this be used for cold sores ## The antibiotics in it, the Polymyxin B and the Oxytetracycline aren't really going to help, if that's what you're looking for, because cold sores are caused by a virus, not a bacterial infection. Learn more Oxytetracycline details here. Learn more Polymyxin B details here. The Lidocaine may help with some pain, if it's sore, but that and keeping it moisturized is really all this ointment is going to do. Learn more Lidocaine details here. How often do they erupt?
