Hi - I was diagnosed with an inner ear bacterial infection, that I'm treating with Polymyxin B (with Sulfate) - no other antibiotic in the ear drops. I'm on my 3rd day of treatment and feeling better but still have some itching and noticing signs of constipation. Is this normal? How long should I use these drops?

You should follow the prescribing instructions regarding the duration of use. The itching and constipation can be side effects that some people experience from using it, according to FDA reports. You may also experience ear redness, irritation, and drainage.

The sulfate is not an additional ingredient, it just specifies the precise chemical salt the medication has been derived from.

How are you doing, now? Has there been any change?
