I need to know more about an antibiotic prescription that was filled from a brand in India. Is this okay to take? I was surprised that it was not manufactured domestically. ## Can I use azithromycin for a sore throat or throat infection? ## white oblong pill with 787 on one side and PLIVA on the other. ## Azithromycin is a real antibiotic and made by a real company. I really haven't researched it to see what country it is made in. What makes you think it is fake? What are the imprints on it..the numbers/letters, color and shape of pill or capsule. I wouldn't take it just for a sore throat. A sore throat is usually viral not bacterial; therefore, an antibiotic will not really make a difference. If you suspect you have a throat infection such as strept or something like that get t...

azitromicina samitrogen ## 1/2 dark purple and 1/2 white capsule with no markings on it...what could it be? ## In regards to the original post, that's the Mexican/Spanish name for the antibiotic Azithromycin, which is used to treat various types of infections. It may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Learn more Azithromycin details here. As to the post from Shelly, I'm sorry, but if there are no markings on it, then it is very difficult to track down what it is. Does anyone else have any ideas? ## What is a half white and half dark purple pill with no markings and brown powder inside?

how do i administer Samitrogen to treat an STI, i got the 500mg with 9 pills, do i need to finish all of them. ## Hello, Jo! How are you? Azithromycin is an antibiotic that can treat bacterial infections, but it may not be the correct one to treat yours, if you have one. It is also not the preferred one to treat UTI's. You should have this checked out to make sure an infection is present and then get a prescription for the appropriate medication. Is there anything else I can help with? ## So I took one capsule of samitrogen last night hoping it would help me with my Urinary track infection I was in a lot pain and I’m feeling much better today should I stop taking them

dosage on samitrogen

how do I take the 6 pills samitrogen ## It depends what you have... Usually, 500mg the first day and 250mg a day for the next four days. Certain infections are often cleared with a larger single or two day dose. Some infections can require 500mg a day for a longer duration. Google information for what you're trying to treat, not the medication you're trying. You'll be more apt to find information about what medications are effective and the proper dosages for that particular infection. ## That is correct, if you have the larger 500mg dosage, it is usually taken once a day, but if you have the lower 250mg dosage, usually 2 should be taken the first day, then one per day after that, until you finish them. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Azithromycin as possibly inclu...

I have 6 pills in sealed container. I believe it's for 5 days. What is the recommended dosage? ## I want to know the dosage of AZITROMICINA. I have 6 capsules of 500 mgs. Please reply asap. thank you, kindly. ## Azithromycin is an antibiotic used to treat various types of infections. Before using it, you should see a doctor to confirm that you have an infection. If you use it and you do not, you run the risk of developing antibiotic resistant bacteria. The normal dosage is 2 tablets on the first day, then one tablet on days 2 to 5. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, skin rash and diarrhea. My boyfriend gave me this pink oval pill; he told me to take it to cleanse toxins inside my body. What kind of illness does this pill treat? ## This tablet is manufactured by Teva Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 500mgs of Azithromycin, which is an antibiotic that is used to treat or prevent bacterial infections. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. It will not cleanse toxins from your body, your liver and kidneys do that naturally. It also should not be taken, unless your doctor has prescribed it for you. Are you on any other medications? ## Most likely he gave you an STI because that’s what they use to treat them.

Switching from Penicillin to Azithromycin

I just finished taking penicillin vk 500mg and it was not working. I have some azithromycin 200mg. Is it ok to take this a day after stopping penicillin? ## Hi Ashley, I guess I can only speak for myself if I were in this type of predicament, but I would probably opt to take the azithromycin without worry if the penicillin wasn't working for me. I think that by waiting a day in between switching antibiotics, it should (in my opinion) be no different than continuing with the treatment regimen -of course, still following the prescribed dosing guidelines thereafter. However, I would also look into taking a probiotic immediately after finishing the course of antibiotics to help replenish good bacteria in the body. This is all theoretical based on what I would do for myself. If in doubt,...

Can I take Olivia 787 while breastfeeding? I started having a runny nose 2 days ago and now I have a really stuffy nose. ## Hello, Carol! How are you? Pliva lists it as containing 250mgs of Azithromycin, which is an antibiotic that is used to treat bacterial infections. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash, diarrhea, and headache. Thus, it will not do anything to treat a cold, and you should not take it, unless your physician has instructed you to do so. Are you on any other medications?
