I have been taking Burpropion HCL SR 150mg for about 4 months now and I recently got my refill for the next three months. However, instead of saying "Bupropion HCL SR 150MG Tablet" It now says "G.E. Bupropion HCL SR 150MG Tablet". My pills also used to be white with a distinct chemical smell, but these new pills are purple and have a fruity smell. I just want to make sure it isn't a change in composition as I have been taking these routinely for my major depressive disorder and have seen great progress and don't want to have a regression. Thanks for any info! ## Are there any markings on them? When initials, or an abbreviation is listed, before a drug name, it usually stands for the manufacturer. Bupropion may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mo...

someone one who takes ferrous sulfate 325 mg ta wants to know what the ta stands for ## Hello, George! How are you? That just stands for tablet. Doctor's sometimes designate such on a prescription, to make sure their patient receives one specific form. For instance, they may specify that they be given tablets only, if they want them to be able to divide the dosage, if necessary, since that cannot be done with capsules. The FDA classifies this as an iron supplement and lists its most common side effects as being dark stool and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

Why does it say N/A on my prescription that my doctor sent over? ## N/A generally means that something is not applicable, so it may be something that isn't relevant to you, or to that particular prescription. What is the prescription for, and what context is the N/A used in? One example would be if they electronically filled out a prescription to be sent to your pharmacy for something that you are to take as needed, in that case, they may put N/A in the category for dosing frequency. Or, they may do so, if it is something you are only to take one dose of, and etc.

I have "gle" on my prescription. It literally says "Gabapentin 600mg TAB GLE". It normally says Gabapentin 600mg TAB MET. I believe it's the abbreviation for the manufacturer, but I'd like to be sure before I take them, as they are a different shape. ## Hi Pattie, My research leads me to believe that GLE stands for Glenmark Pharmaceuticals or Glenmark Generics, the packager/manufacturer of your Gabapentin. NDC: 68462-0126 Inactive Ingredients: Inactive Ingredients: -Starch, Corn -Copovidone K25-31 -Poloxamer 407 -Magnesium Stearate -Polyethylene Glycols -Hypromelloses -Titanium Dioxide -Talc -Polysorbate 80 -Water You can view an image of the packaging label by visiting the link below: dailymed.nlm.nih.gov/dailymed/drugInfo.cfm?setid=3865a6e3-112c-490c-82ac-3540...

what does PU and NKA mean on a prescription?. The pharmacy I gave my written prescription to to get filled gave it back to me and told me I needed to wait a few more days before it could be filled. They wrote PU 1:19 and NKA at the top. what does that mean? ## Did you ask them? My best guess is that the NKA is the initials of the person that you gave it to and the PU 1:19 looks like some sort of internal code, with the time. It likely means something specifically within their pharmacy chain, perhaps the reason why it couldn't be filled yet and the approximate time you were in. But, as I said, this is just a guess, you'd need to ask them to really find out. ## PU is usually pick up. NKA is no known allergies

I have been taking Bupropion XL 300 MG TAB ACT. I filled my prescription 3 hrs ago and i was given Bupropion XL 300 MG TAB ANC. I am feeling very strange. The pharmacy said they are exactly the same, just different manufacturers. I have never felt this way on the other Bupropion. ## Hello, Rita! How are you doing? Has there been any change? Are you on any other medications? Can you please describe your feeling strange more specifically? The NIH does warn that it can cause side effects such as nausea, dizziness, headache, nervousness, and weight loss. And yes, your pharmacist is correct, they have just been manufactured by different companies. ## Generic Wellbutrin isn’t the same as brand name. Main ingredient is the same but formula is different, so doesn’t metabolize the sa...

Next to my fill date of generic Percocet I usually have a MCRK code but this new supplier has MADV. Is there a meaning for this? I just feel it's not as strong as what I've been getting ## This new medication 5/325 Oxycodone / APAP has RP stamped on one side of medication ## Hello, Tom! How are you? The MCRK and MADV are abbreviations for the generic manufacturers. For instance, MCRK stands for Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals. In case of emergency, the pharmacies do this to keep track of the manufacturer and/or distributor and the RP is a manufacturers logo. The FDA classifies this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else...

What does the letter c indicate at the beginning of an RC number ## It may be an initial for the manufacturer, which could translate into any number of pharmaceutical companies that start with a C. Unfortunately without seeing the entire label first hand, I think all anyone can do is guesstimate what it truly stands for. Whereabouts did you get your prescription filled? CVS or Rite Aid? If you ever get an opportunity to ask the pharmacy that gave it to you, kindly post back here with any updates, so we can all figure this riddle out...

Ihave a newscript for levothroxine 50 MCG - things usually say MG ## Hi Linn, I definitely hear you on this one. Prescription drugs can be more confusing than algebra at times. Lol The difference of mcg vs mg is the measurement of each. MCG is the abbreviation of micrograms. MG is the abbreviation of milligram. You would need 1000 micrograms to make up 1 milligram. For your own reference: 50 mcg = 0.050 mg Learn More: Levothyroxine Details I hope this helps! :) ## Thank you. That clears up a lot. You are right, it is as bad as algebra which I also did not excel in. ## What is the difference between b12 5000mcg and b12 1000 mcg. I have been taking b12 1000mcg. And the bottle is empty so is it okay if I take b12 5000mcg ## Can you take too much B-12 ? Iam taking 1000 meg per day and get b...

So... my Dr. wrote my prescription for Adderall but it had a later date on it than I needed so I went back to get the right one. Meaning I have two prescriptions for Adderall and was thinking of getting the second one filled at a smaller pharmacy, no using insurance. I know you shouldn't do this so I don't need the lecture, I'm just wondering if they will be able to search and tell I already got this Rx filled a week ago. I don't incredibly abuse it. Instead of taking one 30mg tablet per day, I take closer to 3. I do not want to ask him to up my meds. My questions include - will the Dr. get a copy of the Rx from the pharmacy? Is there a database with my name on it saying dates I filled adderall? POSITIVE help is greatly appreciated. ## Yes, there is a database of some ki...

What does 10-5 mean on Lortabs? My prescription doesn't seem to be working for my pain and I was wondering if it meant Lortab 10 mg or Lortab 5 mg. So if it is 5 I can get a stronger MG ## What it seems to be is that your doctor was prescribing the tablets with 10mgs of Hydrocodone and 500mgs of Acetaminophen. I could be wrong, since I am not a medical professional, but I have seen it abbreviated this way before, from other similar posts. And no, a doctor cannot write it as an either/or prescription and let you pick which one you want, even if they tried, no pharmacy would fill it that way. More than likely, they will call your doctor to double check the prescription, to be certain of what exactly they are supposed to dispense to you. If your current dosage is not working for your p...

In one of the chats someone was saying APAP stood for Acetaminophen & Propoxyphene, which makes sense considering the initials, and in all your other answers you say APAP stands for Acetaminophen (only). Why have you dropped the Propoxyphene from your other answers & what the heck is Propoxyphene anyway? I take a generically filled prescription of Fioricet & APAP is one of the listed ingredients. ## Hi Pamela - APAP is ONLY Acetaminophen (aka Tylenol) and has nothing to do with Propoxyphene. "Paracetamol, also known as acetaminophen or APAP, is a widely used over-the-counter pain medication and antipyretic (fever reducer)." [1] By the way, Darvocet propoxyphene was discontinued in the US in 2009: "In January 2009, an FDA advisory committee voted 14 to 12 against ...

I was suppose to fill my prescription for my pain meds today but apparently someone I know stole my paper scripts and filled them at a pharmacy I don't even go to.I found out by calling my pharmacy to see if they were filled somewhere when I couldn't find them.I don't know how they were able to fill them since I wasn't able to fill them until the 9th and they filled them on the 5th.don't know how they did it but they did.I am hoping they are on video doing it but in the mean time what do I do?Any advice would be greatly appreciated. ## Hi Autumn, Sorry to hear about what had happened. I got a pill from a friend who said it will calm me down..she said it was valium...but it looks differant...its light yelllow and round. There is a P on top and under the score line there is a 5 ## Since this is Canadian, I can't definitively confirm it, but this pill has come up several times and several Canadians have identified it as being a generic for Valium, with the % designating it as a 5mg tablet. In case you aren't familiar with Valium, here's a link to more Valium details . It does require a prescription and can be habit forming, so it shouldn't be used, without a doctor's approval. Is there anything else I can help with?

If a prescription says "may fill on 2/17", can I fill it on 2/15 if it's a controlled substance? ## No, that means you can't fill it until the 17th and not earlier, according to FDA guidelines. Your pharmacy will refuse, because of the doctors note on it. What medication is it? Why do they restrict when you can get it filled?

i recently got my prescription of hydrocodon 7.5-500. some of them say m385 and some say L484. is this a error by the pharmacy ## Did you mean to say M358 instead of M385? If so, the pill which you are describing is in fact Acetaminophen (500 mg) + Hydrocodone bitartrate (7.5 mg) as you described. L484 only contains Acetaminophen (500 mg). This sounds like it is an error by the pharmacy. If you haven't already addressed this issue, I would definitely recommend going over there to let them know what happened and see if you can get your money back or receive an equal amount of Hydrocodone to supplement the difference in pills.

I received 2 scripts from my doc, both are wrote the exact same, Norco 10/325 with the exact same dosage and quantity, but I read that the second one, the doc has to write "do not fill til" on it and he didn't, what does that mean? Is it no good now or I should have filled them both at the same time? ## Hello, Wondering! How are you? You'll need to stop back at your doctor's office to have it corrected. You won't be able to get both filled, because such prescriptions are tracked, via a computerized government database and even trying to get them both filled could result in your becoming red flagged and not being able to get any filled in the future. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nause...

where are they located legally, with insurance and a ligit. doctor who rescribed it for me. ## Unfortunately, we have no way of knowing what pharmacy may have a supply of any given medication in stock, at any given time. Many people are having a problem getting them filled, due to the fact that the manufacturing quota has been met for the year and manufacturers are unable to make and ship a new supply. Things should return to normal in January. In the meantime, you may want to speak to your doctor about using an alternative medication. Are there any other questions or comments?

Today I went into a pharmacy that is located inside a hospital where I go to see my surgeon whom I've been seeing for 2 years now for a severe spinal injury and spondylolisthesis. After a 25-minute wait the pharmacist came to me and said he can't fill it because I don't meet the criteria. I asked him what he meant by criteria I didn't know you needed a criteria to get medication he proceeded to tell me he didn't have to give that information. I've been there one time before and they filled it it wasn't early he told me he called the doctor and the script was fun I don't abuse my medication. I chose to use that Pharmacy cuz it's much easier considering I have to take two buses each way and I am in severe pain. Can anybody tell me have they ever heard o...
