I have pseudo tumor cerebri and just got a lumbar puncture AKA a spinal tap for it. After that I was prescribed diamox to keep the pressure down and the doctor told me I shouldn't take recreational drugs such as cannabis or alcohol. Being a college student this is a bit of an issue because I'm going to be on this medication for the next 8 months or so. Does anyone know if taking cannabis or alcohol while on this is really that bad? Or if one is safer than the other? Thank you! ## Hello, Mackenzie! How are you? Marijuana has never been shown to react adversely with any prescription medication. Alcohol, however, can be problematic, because it can worsen the side effects and aggravate many medical conditions, so it is best to avoid it, while under treatment. However, it is always b...

Hi All, I just want to ask if anyone ever tried using medical cannabis as an alternative to meds? I suffer from a motorcycle accident and had a broken tibial plateau. I've undergone 2 surgeries, the first was bone grafting and they get some bones on my hip and put it on the crushed part of my tibial. Then they put some titanium plating on my broken bone. I had to endure 6 months of pain and anxiety. So I started reading articles about medical cannabis and how it can help you in terms of chronic pain, glaucoma, eating disorder, anxiety disorders and panic attacks, inflammation, even cancer and a lot more. CBD and THC are also new to me and I don’t even smoke. If this is true I cant find any solid conclusive evidence that speaks to its efficacy. Any personal experience or testim...

Can you be prescribed medical cannabis to ease the muscle pains and stomach cramps in conjunction with Naltrexone? ## I a a big coward when it comes to pain, and I am starting to feel the withdrawals from Methadone and slowly dropping the amount of diazepam I get.I feel awful . Sore muscles ,can't sleep ,feel sick ,and I spend up to 8hrs a day on the toilet .And because I feel ill all the time , I am getting majorly depressed .I know I'll be a bit healthier at the end ,but due to the pain ,I'm beginning to think it's not worth it .(the pain) .The diazepam decrease is worrying ,as the last time the dr's tried to take me off,I developed spasticity in all my muscle ,especially my neck ,I am not kidding, the 'twitching' in my neck was so bad I had to go to hospita...

Am in chronic acute pain due to stenosis, fibromyalgia...the list goes on. Cannot find any doctor who will help; am so tired of living in bed. ## Hi Eudora, I'm so sorry to hear about what you're dealing with! Have you ever considered juicing medical cannabis (the entire plant), switching to the raw/vegan lifestyle, yoga, acupuncture, or essential oils? I've heard that those natural alternatives can be quite beneficial to those dealing with pain and anyone who needs help with nerve and bone regeneration. Here is a link to a site that gives information about specific oils that work well for pain: experience-essential-oils.com/essential-oils-for-pain.html I hope this helps, just believe that your body can and will heal itself! ## Thank you Jenna for your thoughtful response. Is there a way to get Sovaldi without being subjected to a U/A? Patient had PTSD and has taken cannabis sativa for 35 years. ## @Geshela, It seems to me like your best bet would be to check with several different doctor's offices in your area and ask them what their protocols and/or patient requirements are when it comes to prescribing a medication like Sovaldi. My guess is that every doctor will have to their own set of rules and morals that they adhere to, while others may be more flexible or lenient with their patients, depending on the circumstances. And if you don't live in a State that allows the consumption of medical cannabis, this might feel like a big road block, but I will say that in some cases I have been surprised by the leniency of certain doctors and what they...

My daughter took Adderall for three days at hard summer concert is now in a psychosis she can't sleep what should we do ## Give her xanax.. depending on age you need to ask ur dr. ## Hi Red, Sorry to hear about your daughter's intense reaction to Adderall. If I may suggest, instead of introducing another potentially dangerous drug like Xanax to the mix, I would encourage you to go the natural route with medical cannabis in controlled doses in conjunction with weekly meditation sessions. I'd also recommend consulting a doctor who is knowledgeable of the effects of Adderall but still open minded enough to accept the notion that more prescriptions (with just as many potential side effects) aren't necessarily the best answer to her problem. A lifestyle change, among other en...

I need to alleviate the pain in my spineg ## Hi g helm, Based on my research, Percocet 10/350 mg contains (10) mg of Oxycodone and (350) mg of Acetaminophen and is used to treat moderate to severe pain. It could possibly help you with the spinal pain you are dealing with, but since pain medications can become habit forming I suggest that you research other options first. Have you ever considered juicing medical cannabis, acupuncture, or essential oils? I've heard that those three natural alternatives can be quite beneficial to those dealing with pain. how to get off Olanzapine drug. What other non addictive medication or nutrients can be taken to ameliorate the side effects of olanzapine withdrawal. ## Hi Elizabeth, Have you ever considered trying medical marijuana as a means of helping you get over much of those withdrawal symptoms? If anything, I think it could at least help you cope mentally and emotionally with it until the other symptoms begin to subside. That is just my theory based on personal experience. But I know everyone reacts and responds different to treatment, so perhaps it would be best to discuss this with your doctor if your state is one that allows the use of cannabis?

Where in the world do I get Marinol in New Mexico?? Who are the Drs. letting us have Marinol in NM? ## Hi bean, Based on my research, Marinol (dronabinol) is listed as being readily available by prescription-only here in the U.S.; so I'm not completely aware why others might be having trouble even getting a script for it. From what I understand, any regular MD should be able to prescribe the stuff. On another note, medical cannabis does appear to be legal in the state of New Mexico. So if anything, it would make more sense in my opinion, to use actual plant matter, as opposed to a synthetic variation made in a lab. Have you already inquired about Marinol's availability with any doctors in your area?

I am prescribed lortab 10 every 4 hours as needed, soma 350 mg 1 every 4 hours as needed, 15 mg of ambien each night. I am sleepless n Alabama and need to desperately find a safe way to get off this medication. I have no insurance.....please help. ## If you're simply looking for a powerful sleep aid to deal with insomnia, I'd highly recommend considering medical marijuana (that is of an indica variety). It may also be of great benefit to any emotional pain you might be dealing with when it comes to withdrawing off those medications. I'm not aware of the legality of cannabis in Alabama, but for someone with no insurance, it's something you can easily grow for personal use at very little cost. Have you talked to your doctor about a safe way to taper off?

My primary Dr. Prescribed Metanx for my nerve pain from ankle fusion surgery.I've taken it for 30 days and haven't noticed any relief.will this work and if so how long before effective? ## Hello, Marsha! How are you? Metanx is classified by the FDA as a medical food that supports nerve health. However, what that means is that it won't actually relieve pain. Its typical side effect is usually just nausea, due to the potency. Have you informed your doctor that it isn't helping? You will most likely need a medication that will actually help with nerve pain. ## What state do you live in? I have found HYBRID-X cannabis oil, in a syringe, (ruce grain dose) into a veg-capsule, is the bullet for ANY nerve damage or pain. I lalready tried Pensaid patches and Gabapentin. The patch...

Does smoking cigarettes block your pain receptors and not allow morphine to absorb into the body properly and releave pain and if so why??And if so which is harder for the body to withdraw from? Thanks for any help you can give me ## RE: "which is harder for the body to withdraw from?" I believe the answer to this question is all relative to each individual based on their own unique set of circumstances and health. However I will say that my father used to smoke cigarettes for over 40 years before quitting cold turkey - (he had medical cannabis as a crutch during this time). But from what I witnessed living with him I'd say he probably went through about two weeks of mild cold symptoms before feeling normal. On the other hand I know people who have only been smoking for a fr...

Help me please need to gain weight apetito pills. Trying to find these over the counter in Texas. ## Hi Angie, Sorry to hear about your challenges with weight management. From what I could gather, the pills you're referring to called Apetito, are reported to be illegally imported through other countries like Zambia, Zimbabwe, India, and Mozambique. However I've seen no mention of these pills existing on US soil. If you're in Texas why don't you just look into the various OTC supplements available at local healthfood stores in your area? Another option is medical cannabis if it's legal where you live? From my experience that is a great way to stimulate your appetite as well. One other suggestion I have would be to consider seeing a registered dietician who can help yo...

I'm a 48-year-old married female with 2 kids. I have a severe pain in my left heel and need advice on what medicine to use for relief as well as what might've caused this sort of pain? ## Hi there. Sorry to hear about your situation. How long have you been dealing with this sort of pain in your left heel? In order to know how to treat it and what could've caused it, one would need more background information and/or medical evaluations that could take a closer look at the problem. Generally, pain medication is an obvious thing to turn to for relief, but determining which one to take may be dependent upon your ability to consult a doctor and get a prescription or whether you'd prefer to resort to OTC & natural alternatives such as turmeric, kratom, cannabis, etc... Has he been diagnosed with anything such as IBS or Crohn's disease, or does it simply appear to be indigestion? If so, has he tried taking anything yet to help with his condition? A few ideas that come to mind are digestive enzymes, probiotics, prebiotics, senna leaf tea, & medical cannabis. Please post back with any additional information so that I or others can be of more assistance.
