Diamox, Cannabis, Alcohol

I have pseudo tumor cerebri and just got a lumbar puncture AKA a spinal tap for it. After that I was prescribed diamox to keep the pressure down and the doctor told me I shouldn't take recreational drugs such as cannabis or alcohol. Being a college student this is a bit of an issue because I'm going to be on this medication for the next 8 months or so. Does anyone know if taking cannabis or alcohol while on this is really that bad? Or if one is safer than the other? Thank you! ## Hello, Mackenzie! How are you? Will diamox still be as effective for treating ams. I'll be trekking in nepal ## Hello, Hiker! How are you? It isn't that old, so it may still be good, you'd need to check with your doctor on that. Diamox Sequels

I have pseudo tumor cerebri & was given this drug to reduce some of the pressure in my head. Every week I face several severe side effects, what drug could I recommend to replace this one? ## If you're just using Diamox Sequels (Acetazolamide XR) for glaucoma (intraocular pressure) as it's indications state, then I would consider trying medical marijuana as an alternative replacement with less side effects. I can't say for sure that it will work as well or better, but if you are wanting to avoid such severe side effects, it could be a viable option. Personally, I feel that it works very well for me if I ever have pressure in my head and want a "lighter" feeling, per say. Hopefully it can work just as well for you in a similar manner, but I suppose it would really...
