Chronic Pain patients must get organized to lobby for their rights.

People with chronic, intractable pain are being discriminated against and it is imperative that we join forces to fight for our civil rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Please send information on existing associations and organizations that can help or how to establish one that can help pain patients fight for their rights with petitions, letters; emails to send to these state and federal politicians that are determined use prescription drugs, doctors and pharmacies to further their political careers. Drug abuse is not the same as opiate dependent because of chronic pain management and there are over 100 million people living with pain and many of us are unable to live without medication. If the deaths from abuse seems high, the suicides from pain patients that are un...

Norco Shortage in Michigan

Is anyone else having problems finding a pharmacy to fill their scripts of Norco? I have been taking them for a few years now for my chronic pain. I always go to the same pharmacy chain, and its always the same doctor who writes my scripts, but since the new law change no one seems to have them in stock. Some pharmacists told me it was a manufacturer back order. We are told not to go without our meds, but yet how is that possible if we can't get them? Anyone knows of a pharmacy that has Norco 10/325 in the metro Detroit area? ## MAKE LESS......LMBO NOT TRUE.....IT'S A PACKAGING ISSUE AND RELABLEING............. ## No they don't I called and checked ! ## are the yellow ? ## I hear that people who are on narcotic drugs can get a stroke or a heart attack. I don't know how t...

Tramadol addiction

TRAMADOL=DECEPTIVE POISON. this drug is one of the nastier little secrets of the painkiller industry. from my experience it is highly addictive with all the standard withdrawal symptoms plus severe interference with the logical thought processes, more so than other opiates. and to think that this drug is advertised as a safer alternative to other painkillers. I work with numbers as part of my job and I was unable to function once i ran out of my supply early. put myself into a long term suboxone rehab program. am almost ready to "graduate" from the program. (yipee!!!). this nightmare has cost me about $450 a month for doc visits and meds. TRAMADOL = DECEPTIVE POISON ## Sorry about the problem you had from taking Tramadol. And yes, it can be very deceptive. Since it is classified...

are oxycodone with imprint 114 round white the same as the blue ones?

Looking to get information on comparison of the blue oxycodone to the white round ones with 114 impinted on them... ## i just got them im curious myself ## There are a few different blue Oxycodone tablets on the market, so I can't really single out one over another as far as comparing them goes, unless you are able to provide me with an imprint for the blue tablet as well. If the blue pill that you are referring to is the same dosage as the white pill and they are simply manufactured by different companies, then it is clear to me that the only true difference between the pills is possibly the binders or fillers in each tablet (also known as inactive ingredients). Certain "inactive" ingredients that may or may not be present in each brand, are actually detrimental to how the ...

Cortal with softdrinks

what is the side effect? ## Do you know which version of Cortal you are taking? Is it Cortal for Adults with Aspirin and Caffeine, or Cortal with Ibuprofen? If it's the one with caffeine in it and you are drinking soda with caffeine in it, it might be too much caffeine. Hope that helps. Can you please share any other details? ## Cortal for adults with aspirin. Flustat capsule

I am 43 years old and one month pregnant. Can I take flustat? ## Based on my research, Flu-Stat Capsules contain the following active ingredients: (Acetaminophen + Caffeine + Chlorpheniramine Maleate + Phenylephrine Hydrochloride + Vitamin C). When it comes to pregnancy, it's usually best to discuss which drugs are safe with your doctor first, in case he or she has special instructions outside of the norm. However from what I could gather, Acetaminophen is believed to be safe in pregnancy when used intermittently for short durations. Chlorpheniramine and Phenylephrine on the other hand are only recommended for use during pregnancy when benefits outweigh risk. For reasons like this I would also suggest getting a second opinion from your doctor. I don't think you can ever be too s...

lyrica lawsuit

Does anyone know if there is an ongoing lawsuit against the company who puts out Lyrica? I am a mess from it. Do we have a leg to stand on when it comes to the side effects they found out from people like us? I am a long termer. I have been taking 900 mg since 2005. Is there anyone representing us? Thank you ## Hi Vicky. Right now it looks like the primary lawsuits concerning Lyrica are centered around suicidal thoughts and behaviors. Very sorry to hear about your condition from this drug. I've heard of many individuals experiencing some dramatic side effects from long term use. That's just a shame. I definitely would not give up yet, because what you are saying is now coming to the forefront, so it's just the beginning. What has your doctor's response been to your deter...

Does anyone taking Lyrica have memory loss?

I have been on Lyrica for about 8 months now and I am having fantastic results. My dr is trying to increase my dosage and I have been doing it in 50 mg increments. I am up 100 more now in a month, for a total dosage of 400mg. I find that I have very bad recall and loss of my vocabulary during conversation. It eventually goes away, but I was wondering if anyone else has this? If it keeps up, I just may have to drop back down 50mg until I get used to it? That seemed to work that last time I had to raise it.BTW, I have nerve pain in my ribcage. (not caused by shingles) ## It is a possible reaction to this med, it is listed as a side effect that you should see your doctor about if you experience it. You can see it in the monograph listing here: Pregabalin Details Have you consulted your doc...

Doriden/glutethimide availability

Does anyone know where one could obtain glutethimide or it's brand name Doriden (CIBA Company)? Am in Canada where Doriden was discontinued in late 1980s and I was told Doriden discontinue was international. Perhaps there is now a generic form containing glutethimide available now as I would assume CIBA trademark rights would have by now expired. As the benzodiazapine replacement meds for Doriden are more addictive and dangerous (especially if mixing with alcohol & other drugs) it sure would be great to be able to go back to Doriden or glutethimide which were more effective and safer. A shame that the public was switched over to benzodiazipines (i.e. lorazapam, diazapam) when a better/safer product was available all in the name of profits and economics. Any help out there is mos...

Tramadol and Oxycodone for pain

I have pain issues since I had surgery where I ended up with chronic pain. My Dr. Says she thinks it comes from adhesions and scar tissue and does not me to have any more surgery it was reccomeded that I go to a pain clinic which I do. They have given me prescriptions of one oxycodone 5-325 every morning and 50 mg tramadol four times a day as needed. How addictive are these?also if a person does have withdrawal ,what actually happens that you have to deal with?I don't know much about the different pain meds. I was taking zolipin as a sleeping aid and I heard about melatonin instead so I tried that and it really does well. I no longer take the zolipin every night as most nights the melatonin does fine. Thanks ## Hello, Becky! How are you? Both Tramadol and Oxycodone are classified as...

Tramadol versus Oxycodone - alternating and addiction?

I have a rheumatoid condition and am prescribed both Oxycodone and Tramadol. I alternate between them, not wishing to become addicted. What I'm unsure of is whether they are different enough chemically to prevent my body getting too used to either one. I also take a day off here and there, but I just feel very wary. I have to do pain management, but I just want to verify that taking Oxycodone one day and Tramadol the next doesn't strike my body chemically as being the same thing. Many thanks for any helpful response! (Cross-posted in oxycodone forum as well). ## From what I could gather, nih.gov classifies each drug under similar, but different drug categories: "Tramadol is in a class of medications called opiate agonists. It works by changing the way the body senses pain. O...

I cant even remember why I started taking Tramadol. I'm looking for any advice or experences amnyone else has had with withdrawing. ## Hello, DD! How are you? Since you've been taking doses that high, withdrawing could be dangerous and stopping it may be complicated, thus, it would really be best to get medical assistance doing so. The FDA lists the typical withdrawal effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, fatigue, diarrhea, fever, chills and seizures. Can anyone else chime in with their experiences? ## Yes, me to!! I take about the same amount or more a day. I have wanted to stop a bunch of times. I'm a middle aged ...
