First time user of hydromorphone

I have been on hydrocodone for years. Never really helped with my pain. I injured my back several years ago. I just recently was prescribed hydromorphone 4 mg for chronic pain. Just wanted to know if anyone has experience with it. And what can I expect as far as side effects. Any comments would be appreciated. ## The FDA and NIH lists its typical side effects to being similar to those of other opiates, such as the Hydrocodone, so they may include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, depression, and constipation. Are you on any other medications? Generally, when they gave it to me in the hospital, I experienced a lot of vomiting. ## I am curious as to how long it takes a 6mg hydromorphone (time-release) to start working? I am just starting to take it. ## Omg! I was put on that after c...

What Pharmacy In Spring Hill Fl Has 8mg Hydromorphone Stock

who knows what pharmacy has generic dilaudid in stock in spring hill Fl. 34606?! ## In order to find out which pharmacy has this medication in stock, you'd probably have to go in person to each pharmacy that you intend on having it filled at and ask them in person. Reason being is that most pharmacists will be reluctant to tell a complete stranger over the phone if they have one of the most potent narcotic pain relievers in stock. If you are having trouble filling a script, I have heard that others are trying Walgreens Mail Order services with better success. Is there anyone else in Florida who can suggest what has or hasn't worked for you, in so far as filling your prescription? ## I was having a big problem getting my scripts filled for different scheduled drugs over the years...

small white round pill

Small white pill with a number 2 on one side and M on the other ## Physician's Total Care lists a tablet matching this description as containing 2mgs of Hydromorphone, which is a potent narcotic analgesic. NDC code: 54868-3165 The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such dizziness, headache, constipation, dry mouth, and nausea. Inactive ingredients may possibly include: lactose monohydrate magnesium stearate microcrystalline cellulose stearic acid But they can vary, depending on manufacturing facility. Is there anything I can help with?

Round Peach Pill imprinted 2 on one side and TV on the other

I have a small round peach pill with 2 on one side and TV on the other. I was told it was hydromorphone but can't find any reference to this pill anywhere. I'm in Canada. ## I haven't found an exact match to your pill, but I believe I've identified the manufacturer as Teva Pharmaceuticals. They seem to have a number of different pills with the "TV" imprint followed by a set of numbers. It looks like another user here on the site was also trying to identify this same pill, but with the number 4 instead of 2. They haven't found a match yet, but their thinking is in line with what you mentioned: Discuss/Yellow-round-pill-with-4-on-one-side-and-TV-on-the-other-231296.htm I hope this info helps! Does anyone else recognize these? ## I have a round peach coloured pi...

WHITE ON TOP AND GRAY ON BOTTOM WIITH ONE SINGLE RED DOT ON THE WHITE PORTION ## HI, Katie! I've tried looking for something that matches this, but have had no luck. If there are no markings on it, it is most likely something that's available over the counter, since all manufactured prescription tablets are required to have markings to enable their identification. Where did you find it? Some products are regional, so knowing the general location may help narrow it down. Does anyone else recognize this? ## Hydromorphone. There are also larger ones with a white dot (instead of red), that contain a higher dose.

Find cause of Unexpected Hydromorphone Positive test (GCMS)

If you too are testing positive for hydromorphone but are taking only other opioid medicines (and that includes peripheral antagonists, such as Movantik or Relistor, as well as drugs such as oxycodone or oxymorphone): Please respond with what opioid(s) you are taking, and also if you are taking any probiotics, what bacteria strains are listed on the package? (certain bacteria are known to transform some opioids to hydromorphone) Was a GCMS test done? I'll keep a tally and post the results, hopefully helping everyone with this problem. ## This is just an update: I stopped taking both the probiotics and Movantik, and had another GCMS urine test, which was (finally!) negative for hydromorphone. So, this shows that either Movantik or the probiotics were the cause of the unexpected resul...

Does hydromorphone show up as just morphine in lab work?

I receive a monthly script for Dilaudid (Hydromorphone) due to Chronic Back pain... Recently I got bit by pitbull & a friend shared some of their medication which I took for a few days till I felt better. She said after 24 hrs it transforms in body into Morphine (so if i take hydromorphone regularly & waited 34-48 hrs Id be fine for my UA if i got one)... So when I got in trouble for having Morphine in my UA I was upset and shocked! The other drug came up as Morphine, now I'm in trouble cause there saying I tested positive for Morphine - but I thought that Hydromorphone was supposed to come up on pee/blood tests as morphine, & never heard of any issues? Are they giving me a different test that shows a difference between morphine and hydromorphone? & I honestly haven...

pictures of pills with triangle imprint

a white thin oblong pill with a triangle like symbol ## There are triangle imprints used by several manufacturers, they are usually generic pills and there are far too many for me to be able to post pictures of them. What does the symbol look like? Is it similar to an hourglass? If so, that's the Ivax logo and they make many different generic products. Are there any other markings on the tablet? Like letters or numbers? ## Pink round pill with triangle with p inside the triangle on top /score mark/ 151 on bottom ## Hello.I am pharmacist from Poland, with large passion to my job...Today I found an oval ,white ,10mm lenght,6mm wide pill with imprinted on one side number 2 and there is a letter u,or n inside triangular ,more like shield of a knight shaped logo. In whole my carrer I did...

Does Hydromorphone/Dilaudid metabolize into morphine and show up only as Morphine in urine Screen?

I went to my pain doctor today, and received a drug screen. I only take diluadid 2mg 2ce a day and took one about an hour and a half before I went to the doctor. When I went back into the room with the nurse practioner she said I failed my drug screen for Morphine and Codine. I've not taken anything but dilaudid and also neuroton that they prescribe me. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?!?!? Does dilaudid metabolize into morphine in your system a little while after you take it? Also, they tested the levels and it was like 20,000 or something like that...she said I would had to have taken the Morphine right before I came since my level was so high. Obviously thats going to happen everytime and then I will be cut off from the doctor and I can't have that happen. What do I do??? ## Everytime I ...

hydromorphone rox

whats the difference between hydromorphone and hydromorphone rox ## What is the difference in opana and hydromorphine? My insurance will pay for the second one, but not the first. ## Opana is a brand name drug , it would be called oxymorphone, generically, the other is Diluadid and it come generic as, Hydromorphone, If you get oxymorphone, the generic name of Opana, the insurance company would pay for it, but it is not available generically I believe. ## Not sure why nurse said my zofran is a controlled substance. My daily nauseaad vomit from rare gastro disorder is helped by zofran. Without it, my nausea and vomit out of conTrol, and already very malnourished, underwt and on tpn picc line...so what gives¿? ## To the original poster, the difference is just the manufacturer, since th...

## What forms does the M 4 Hydromorphone or pill come in? Im not talking about knoll no.4mg Dilaudid. ## Hydromorphone is a generic for Dilaudid. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. NDC code for more details: 0406-3244 John, since this is a generic, it is manufactured by several different companies. Hydromorphone 8mg Round Scored On One Side With 54 Over 425 On The Other

I have an alleged 8mg hydromorphone tablet that has 54 on one side with 425 under that and scored on the other side. ## Indeed, what you have there is a relatively expensive 8mg instant release hydromorphone hydrochloride, made in US, forgive me but I have forgotten the maker. Not Abbott Dilaudid brand, which are sorta rounded triangular shape with Abbott logo obverse and large '8' reverse. As are the most excellent ones by Covidien, under their Mallinckrodt label, only difference being the logo, a capital M in a square. Have not tried your 54 425 pills but they are reputedly of highest quality. Palladone 2.6mg capsules are the strongest instant hydromorph available where I live and are not often prescribed, Palladone SR 12-hour formulation being preferred, though for some reaso...

Tiny yellow pill APO H4

I found this pill in the back seat of my car and I'm totally baffled at where it came from and what it is... Any ideas? ## Another discussion thread here on this same topic has identified a yellow pill with APO H4 on it as 4mg Hydromorphone - A medication used for moderate to severe pain relief. For verification, the manufacturer is listed as made by APOTEX (based out of Canada) and the DIN (Drug Identification Number) is 02364131. I hope this helps!

conversion for 18 mg hydromorphone contin to ms contin

Due to a physician error I am unable to get my prescription filled for 18 mg hydromorph contin, and he's now on vacation. I have old 100 mg tablets of ms contin that was prescribed in 2011. Can I take these safely as a substitute until I can resolve the prescription problem? ## Hello, Patty! How are you? It would take 72mgs of the MS Contin to equal each 18mgs of the Hydromorphone. However, the problem is that your MS Contin tablets are expired. Medications lose effectiveness over time, so you should actually dispose of them. Doubling up isn't safe to try, either, since that could result in an overdose. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mou...

round orange pill with apo on one side and H2 on the other and a round small green pill with apo on one side and H1 on the other side

Can u pls help me I have found 2 different pills that are exact in size small round one is green and says apo on one side and H1 on the other and the other is orange with apo on one side and H2 on the other ## Hello, Curious! How are you? From what I can find, it looks like you've found a couple of Hydromorphone tablets, the one with the H1 marking contains 1mg and the one with the H2 marking contains 2mgs. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Learn more Hydromorphone details here. These are from Canada, so anyone in Canada will likely be more familiar with them under the name APO-Hydromorphone. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Wat is a.light ...

Round yellow pill with 4 on one side and PMS on the other

I need help identifying a yellow round pill with a "-4-" on one side and "pms" on the other side (I do have a picture). ## This tablet is manufactured by Pharmascience Canada, and they list it as containing 4mgs of Hydromorphone, which is a potent narcotic analgesic. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with?

Hydromorphone to Fentanyl patch

My husband has been on hydromorphone 24 mg extended release for well over a year with great results... no break thru pain etc.. Recently workers comp has requested that he change to the Fentanyl patch due to cost. Almost immediately he had horrible side effects that have continued... He is on day 3 and just been told that it's because he is in withdrawal from the hydromorphone and they are increasing the Fentanyl. Does anyone else have any input on this? Fentanyl vs hydromorphone? Any help/info would be appreciated. ## What is the dose he has been prescribe of the Fentanyl patch? The ratio from 24mgs of Hydromorphone would be 0.32mgs of Fentanyl, so yes, if he was given too low of an amount, he might be dealing with withdrawals issues. What side effects has he been dealing with? The...

Hydromorphone 4mg

I take hydromorphone 4mg as needed but i wanted to know if it was safe taking two tablets? ## Hydromorphone, the active ingredient in Dilaudid is a very potent narcotic analgesic. That said, it is not advisable to increase your dosage without your doctor's approval. Doing so runs the risk of overdose and other serious side effects, such as organ damage. If your current dosage does not control your pain, you should speak to your doctor to explore your other options. Have you contacted them yet? ## Due to a near fatal accident I had in 2007, I have many chronic physical problems, some accident related and others such as severe arthritis, torn ligaments in both knees, disc problems bot sides of the back. The disc and knee problems are so painful that surgery is my option. I started out...
