My l4 year old has cerebral palsy and is on Baclofin. I would like to know if Risperdal is compatible with this medication? ## When taking Baclofen together with Risperdal, be sure to look out for respiratory depression. Together these meds might might increase each other's effect in that respect. As such, you should also monitor how coordination and alertness are affected. Do not administer the Risperdal with tea or cola. And above all, be sure that you and the prescribing physician are always on the same page! Report anything unusual to them, and please take what I'm saying as a general guideline. There is no substitute for professional medical attention! I hope this helps...

My 88 year old mother had a minor cerebral posterior stroke July 30 and was started on Clonidine. About one week later she started to feel like she needed to urinate frequently, almost as soon as she had returned to her chair. Two months later, she is still feeling that way. Could it be the Clonidine even though that is not listed as one of the side effects? Has anyone else seen this? I have read extensively about the type of stroke she had and do not find anything about urinary problems. ## Hello, Missy! How are you? The FDA does list urinary issues as being a possible side effect of this medication, including urinary retention, and increased amounts of urine. I'm having really severe tightness in my head throughout the day.Should I consult the consultant sooner than my 4 month appointment ## Hello, Brendan! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem you're experiencing. Such descriptions of symptoms and side effects can be very relative, so I'm not sure what you are referring to as tightness, but yes, if it concerns and worries you, it is always a good idea to consult your doctor. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and easy bruising. Is there anything else I can help with?

I currently take Warfarin for atrial fib but I am wary of it because I think my father died of a cerebral hemorrhage. Is Dabigatran a better choice? ## They are both anticoagulants, so one isn't necessarily safer than any other, they both can cause the same side effects and carry the same risks. There is really no way to tell, ahead of time, how safe any medication is going to be for anyone. If you feel more comfortable using one, rather than the other, then by all means discuss it with your doctor. Are there any questions or comments?
