How long does .1 mg of Clonidine last for?

Im a 33 year old woman. I was just prescribed .1 mg of clonidine for OxyContin withdrawals. I have bend using Oxy's for about 2 years now. The clonidine seem to be working and I have weined myself off from 60mg a day to 20mg. But now the next step is to go off completely. I need to know how long they last in your system. I know it's at least 3 or 4 hours but not sure if any longer. I want to take my next dose before the withdrawals start. Plz help. Mom of 2 ## The plasma level of clonidine peaks in approximately 3 to 5 hours and the plasma half-life ranges from 12 to 16 hours. The half-life increases up to 41 hours in patients with severe impairment of renal function. NOTE: it generally takes about 5 half lives for the drug to be completely out of your system. How many clonidine pills would be considered an overdose?

I was just informed that my family member just took 7 Clonidines. Is this an overdose? Please answer as soon as possible. ## I sincerely hope that this person's family member suffered no ill effects. When it comes to posts like this, it really can't be stressed enough that if you think the life or health of someone is in danger, please contact your nearest emergency treatment facility or take them in to one! While there are always people on sites, such as this one, that will help if they can, there is nothing I can do to help you save a life, if that's what it comes down to. I cannot administer CPR or any type of life-saving measure over the Internet. I wish we could, but it just isn't possible. And with this post, the dosage wasn't included, so there's no way an...

clonidine false positive

I am a counselor at a ministry for addiction and need to know if clonidine will test positive for Benzo's. ## Clonidine is not a benzo. It is a blood pressure medication and off label can also help with anxiety and insomnia. This med is often confused with klonopin because of the similar sound of the 2 words and for the fact that is can be used to treat anxiety. But the chemicals in clonidine are completely different then the chemicals in benzodiazepines , so I couldn't see any reason at all it could test positive for a benzo . I also researched clonidine pretty extensively when my dr suggested it for me. So the answer is no. Don't worry , it's not a benzo . Hopefully you are also not confusing it with klonopin, cuz if it's klonopin your talking about then yes of cou...

clonidine 0. 2 mg

I have recently been put on this drug for sleeping and well its not working at all. I have been taking one at night before bedtime which is what I was told but is it safe to take 2 since im not getting any rest with the 1? ## Also I failed to mention in last comment they are 0.2 mg ## I would recommend trying 1 1/2 first take it no more than 15 mins before bed it works fast. But if u take it 1hour or 30 mins before bed you can kind of simulate yourself into it not working then it loses its effect. Once the groggy effect wears off before your in bed most likely you will not fall asleep well. ## I would also call your doctor to let he/she know it's not working because if you increase your dose without say so to the doctor they will not be happy and you will run out of meds early. If t...

Clonidine is most commonly known for its use in treating high blood pressure. However, certain formulations can also reportedly treat ADHD and cancer pain. They go on to state that Clonidine extended-release tablets may treat ADHD by affecting the part of the brain that controls attention and impulsivity. Labeler:...

Clonidine withdrawal

My diabetic and hypertensive mother (age 88) was recently hospitalized for weakness and frequent falling. She has been on clonidine and a new doctor took her off it. She has been having horrible waves of nausea and diarrhea for about a week and a half now. She has to force herself to eat a couple of bites of each meal, and she weighed all of 92 pounds when she went in. Besides the hell she is going through, I am worried about her wasting away. How long does the clonidine withdrawal process last? ## Are you saying they just abruptly took her off of it? Did they replace it with something else? Are they providing supportive therapy? I doubt that the hospital will really let her waste away, if she starts to lose too much weight and isn't holding anything down, they will force nutrients ...

Clonidine HCL O.1 MG

## My husband was recently put on this medication for his blood pressure. Since taking it he has lost 40 pounds in a month, his skin is pale, he has to eat tons of fiber and laxatives to have a bowel movement, he is anxious, he has no appetitie, and he sleeps almost instantly after taking it. Can Clonidine cause body odor?

Been taking clonidine for 3 months. Wife says my normal smell is different and she doesn't like it. Learn more Clonidine details here. And from the way you're describing it, that's what it sounds like it's done, it's just made some changes to your usual body chemistry, so you smell a little different than usual. That's not an actual odor, or smelling. However, if it really bothers your wife, then you might want to speak to your doctor about trying a different medication. Has she described what it smel...

I ran out of Clonidine for my son

Hi. My 7 year old son takes Clonidine (.1mg) once daily in the evening. He takes Concerta (37mg) in the morning. He is autistic with ADHD and anxiety. The Clonidine is to help his transition from the Concerta and to help him relax for sleep. I completely forgot to go pick up his Clonidine prescription today (it was totally my own fault), and my boyfriend took our only vehicle to work. The pharmacy is already closed. Will he be OK until tomorrow afternoon (when he gets home from school)? If not, I can have my sister go pick up his script tomorrow and take it to school... but if I do that I am worried that he will get drowsy in school. Can someone advise me on the best thing to do? I honestly don't know about this, and I am looking for some guidance. ## I know this question is from tw...
