Risperdal Withdrawal

I was prescribed Risperdal because I was having grandiose delusions. I was taking 3mg for about 6 months. To say the least it has been a rough 6 months. The drug changed everything about me, it is difficult for me to remember the dynamic person I used to be. Knowing that the delusion disorder was temporary as well as the treatment, I kept putting one foot in front of the other but it was and still is a challenge. I feel like I should win the Oscar for best actress. I have been acting happy but I really feel dead inside. This is an exhausting way of being. I did taper off and it has been 2 weeks since my last dose. The physical withdrawal symptoms have faded but I still feel emotionless and out of it. I have lost 2 pounds, gained 25 total on the drug. If anyone has been through this with...

Perscibed due to ADHD. ## I think you are talking about Risperdal ? It is prescribed for ADHD and other conditions as well... ## Risperdal is a potent antipsychotic that is used to treat various mental health conditions, including ADHD, depression, and anxiety. The FDA warns that it may cause side effects, such as nausea, headache, dry mouth, weight gain, somnolence, and sedation. Is there anything else I can help with?

I need to know what this is prescribed for? ## I believe you are referring to Risperodol, the generic is Risperdal. This is a very potent antipsychotic, it is also used for people who suffer from mental illness and have trouble sleeping due to racing thoughts. ## I am sorry to disapprove with this as i take it and it is more for people with depression as it is an anti depressant. ## Respiratol is being ordered for my sister-in-law as a mood changer. She is in the beginning stages of Frontotemporal dementia.

Well, I'm 17 and I'm an adolescent!! So I won't to make sure this medicine isn't for adults only. And I've been overemotional and sensitive all my life. Depression is very common in my family. I've never taken an anti-depressant before. My depression is caused by a chemical imbalance in the part of my brain that controls my emotions and how I feel, which is made worse because I was born premature. I also have trouble sleeping and getting motivated every day. So I want to know if the medicine called Rispadol is right for me and won't have any lasting side effects on my behavior or make me feel more depressed. Your help would be much appreciated!! ## Did you mean Risperdal? It is a potent antipsychotic that is used to treat various mental health issues, as well...

Clonidine and Risperdal

My daughter is 7 years old and has been on Focalin 15 mg for almost a year, she has been taking it at 8 am and 2 pm and today the Doctor started a new schedule. She now has to take Focalin at 8 am and two new medications. She has to take Clonidine .1 mg either 1/4 or 1/2 at 4 pm and they said it will make her drowsy. The other medication is Risperdal 1mg but 1/2 a pill at night which also puts her to sleep. She has ADHD and severe Oppositional Difiant Disorder, do you believe that much medication is proper or do you recommend getting a second opinion? She is also having anxiety and depression symptoms do you believe that this mixture of medications could hurt her? Does anyone know any great psychiatrists in the Dallas/DFW area that they would recommend? ## Hello Juanita! I am 29 and suf...

Elicia 4mg

Does it cause any reaction if ELICIA 4 mg is taken with Oliza 10mg/pd and Risperdal 4md/pd? My eye balls move upward and I am not able to see below ## No. When you take an ELICIA 4 MG tab then there is no required reason to take it with liza 10mg/pd and risperdal 4md/pd, because Elicia is better than these other molecules. If u have any other information then contact me. {edited for privacy}. ## Based on my research, there actually are drug interactions listed between Risperdal (Risperidone) and Oliza (Olanzapine). I haven't seen anything related to how you described your eye balls moving upward; but using these two drugs together may increase side effects such as blurred vision, drowsiness, dry mouth, heat intolerance, flushing, decreased sweating, difficulty urinating, abdominal c...

Is Risperdal (risperdone) like Alprozalam (xanax)

I am wondering if Xanax (a benzo-) is like Risperdal (a benzi-) and if the two are related in any way? ## HELL NO! be careful with this drug by now you have prob. had the side effect but the should go away when you stop takeing it ## ANY drug I'm prescribed that's a narcotic I take very sparingly, not very often, almost to the point of being paranoid. Usually, the only time I take Xanax is when I absolutely CANNOT sleep. Be careful! ## i have taken xanax for years n the dr put me on respridol are they the same ## NO!! One is anti-anxiety the other is anti-psychotic. Due to the side effect profile Risperal should not be used unless you have clinical diagnosis of psychotic disorder. ## Risperdal is occasionally used off-label to help those with mental disorders who have trouble sl...

Weaning off Risperidole

Hi everyone who is reading this message. I have been taking Risperidole for about 5 1/2 years now. I am currently taking 2mg of Risperidole and 100mg of Seroquel and 20mg of Lexapro. Can anybody tell me how I wean myself off the Risperidole As I want to have a baby and don't want to be on any medications that will affect the baby. I heard weaning off one medication at a time is the right way to go. Can anybody tell me, do I reduce the medication down to 1mg as I am on 2mg at the moment? Also how long should I be on the 1mg before reducing it down to 0.5mg? Thanks anyone for your input into my question, hope my question makes sense. Thanks again everyone.

Misdiagnosed: Permanent side effects of Respiradone?

Hello forum members. I have a question about psychiatric medication which I was wrongly prescribed. Firstly, I suffer from Chronic Lyme Disease. For those who don't know it is a quite serious bacterial infection that causes profound physical fatigue, muscle pain, cognitive problems, and depression and derealization. However, as I have just learned recently, the physical and psychological aspects of the disease are completely due to the bacteria infection of the brain and body, and will disappear completely once treated with antibiotics, which I am now taking regularly. I was unfortunately only diagnosed properly 3 months ago, after having suffered 5 years of debilitating physical illness. Ok, so my problem is this: Before I was diagnosed, I was suffering the severe psychological eff...

Will Risperdal (Risperidone) help me sleep? I just got taken off of Seroquel cause it makes me impotent. ## Yes, it can cause drowsiness, and sedation as a side effect, according to FDA reports.
