Withdrawals From Soma, Morphine, Xanax, Oxycodone - Help Please (Page 2) (Top voted first)

I have been in pain management for years, lost my doctor along with other patients, and primary won't fill or says she can't and messes up my progress to get in new pain management in time. Now I'm losing Soma, was 3 times a day, now I have 7 tabs left. Was on 45 mg of morphine 3 times, oxycodone 15s and xanax 5 mg 3 times a day. Which she said she can not write for. Why, if she knew or thought this pain clinic was prescribing more than standard, did she never say a word until i had to go to her in desperation for this? Your primary that has to refer you and get info to get into a new pain clinic, I have very serious health issues no one is dealing with, I feel alone and suicidal. I even told my doctor and the old pain clinic staff that left, and not a bit of help, yet they know i have a history of heart failure, bleeds in brain from pain issues. No one cares, our country is falling apart and i asked again today for something for bp and high pulse, got nothing for it but a nurse, they did not send in the info two times that could have had me in pain management by now, and in having the colostomy i had to postpone since I wont do it with out pain mgmt on board.

Today they cut me back more 1 soma for a few days then no more, oxycodone 10mg 3 times to be cut on mon again and morphine cut from 45 3 x to 3o 2 times. All i can do is cry and sleep then cry more then no food, not drinking, feel horrible, and have lost desire to live and fight. These doctors put all on others and not one seems to care or no what to do with all of us real pain patients. I just want to die at this point for i am so tired of suffering and its only going to get worse. I feel so bad for all of the posts i have seen and know im not alone. All i see is the same four walls every day, go no where and before i felt i had some reason to fight and live to fight cancer and even cancer doc can not help get you in pain mang. They said today it will take at least 8 weeks to get in and ill be dead then or out of meds in a stroke etc. That is my biggest fear. Have had 3 bleeds in brain from this and pain is no joke.

The nurse said today we all are paying for those that dr shop and are addicted and i said i thought even addiction is a matter that needs treatment. They counted my tabs. I take drugs panels, did nothing wrong and most of my pain is caused from docs that did botched surgeries and cancer and injury from accident. I dont no what we all can do or if there is hope but it does not do good to ask on this site if someone knows where to get meds. Its not just docs its insurances companies and pharmacies. It's all getting way too much and hard for even a well person to figure out. I am ready to go home to my maker and wish he would take me soon. I am so tired of the lack of proper dr care in our country and its so sad i feel and pray for you all i want to know who is going to be responsible when i die or end up in a stroke due to this. Xanax withdrawals will be the worst too for i had them before for you can not sleep to escape the torture and they only get worse with time unlike opiates most docs dont seem to know this. I guess i have heart rate of 139 now and bp 200 over 133.

I agree with you about the doctor shopping, but the xanax and soma will only make you more depressed. That's too much meds you're on.You should really cut down like they want you too.Maybe a different pain med.would help.Good luck and God bless

This post is all of those who take pain medication..I had to go to a pain clinic for my chronic condition and the experience was horrible..I changed pain management doctors due to the way I was treated and just returned from my visit...leaving in tears and feeling like killing myself because I told him my pain is unbearable in the swinter and at its best in the summer, falls and springs are mixed., when we have bad storms I don't do very well...I was told I need an implanted device and they could have me 100% pain free all the time...I am not open to such a device and this new doctor was very rude! I guess this is where it's gonna go these days...I am very upset that we are being treated like drug addicts...I want to end my life because I'm tired... I'm 54 and have been dealing with Chonic pain since age 11..they have left us all with very little options and have no sympathy or compassion for us...I don't want to fight argue or try to convince anyone anymore about my condition... it's only going to get worse good luck to all.

SHAE: Agreed. Any doctor who would take you off those three things at the same time should be completely sued for malpractice. And the benzo withdrawal (xanax) can actually kill you. That is a completely irresponsible thing to do. I would find another doctor, and report the first one.

I have used Kratom too, it does help but there are so many different strains and at least for me I had to try different ones, it is a guessing game, where I order it they do not give any medical advice, I think I am going to go ahead and start trying to find a good quality product, as we all know, our days of getting our pain meds are numbered,

Hi, I'm so sorry...I've been going through this too. While it is true that general practice Dr. Cant/ won't prescribe narcotics due to deal. Regulations....you should be able to see a regular family doctor, and get something for anxiety, and or sleep meds..the other thing I would suggest is to ask for Lyrica...200mg. Or start lower and go up....if your already on gaba...it's similar, it's for fibromyalgia...but it works WONDERS for the horrible withdrawal symptoms....the agonizing anxiety....it's have wanted to DIE, they screwed up my dosages at my last visit....it's the was supposed to be cut down, but not as drastically....it's i went from 165 MG. Of oxycontin plus oxycodone...to 85mg. They cut me way too much, too fast ...for two weeks I I thought I would die, my heart was pounding so hard it hurt my stomach, I ended up going to the e.r. I didn't know it was w.d....I lost 11 lb.s in 13 days...my b.p has always been like 99/69....it shot to 153/ 100..... the e.r gave me iv. fluids plus some type of valium to calm me down.....it to wore off like 2 hours after I got home....I was miserable! If I were you, I would take a print out of your pharmacy records....and go to a pain management clinic and say you don't have a family doctor to refer you...say you were seen by "x" and ask them to request your records....explain your situation...get as many copies of any records you can get.. xrsys....Mr I. Ect. Best of luck to you....the people who have abused opiates have really screwed the rest of us...even though truthfully, it's the pharmaceutical companies who lied to the Dr's about the addictiveness of the new "wonder drug" oxycontin, oxycodone, then they figure it out, stop prescribing, cut people off, who then in desperation buy it illegally, can't afford it, start buying illicit drugs...and thus our epidemic...quite honestly...I am a legitimate pain patient, but wish I'd NEVER taken anything stronger than hydrocodone. Those strong opiates change your brain chemistry permanently. Who knows how we'll end up....most of us probably dead. Either on purpose, or accidentally, trying desperately to get relief. I feel we were all lied to, and they poisoned our brains. There should be a legal case. It was criminal.

I am sure that this has everything to do with the fact that the government and my state, MA, are holding doctors accountable for the heroin and fentenyl sp? epidemic. What is happening to you is inhumane. You are physically addicted to these meds! What really caused this was rich white parents caused an uproar when their kids ended up on junk! They blame doctors because of it. Do they not see that you can have a grand mal seizure without your Xanax? They are treating you like the people that abuse prescription drugs and a junkie to be blunt. I know addiction can be mental and physical. The jerks that could afford $80 a pill of oxys were rich white wealthy spoiled brats that blame a sports injury for them becoming IV drug users. The truth is the entire country is on licit or illicit drugs...alcoholics that point the finger at people that use pain meds and illegal drugs boast about how they go to work daily and show off their expensive wine cellars to their rich friends while their kids are in the next slum city over selling their souls very willingly to the dealers. Then the parents wonder why their kids ended up the way they did. Duh! They were too busy keeping up with others pathologically to pay attention to their kids in the first place. Oh, but they worked so hard to provide their kids with the best of everything and feel a direct hit against their egos and parenting skills when their kids choose drugs over anything else! So, I blame people like them for your situation. Addiction has and will always be here! Too bad they were addicted to money and competing with their friends, neighbors, and other wealthy co-workers to really care about their kids. They couldn't vaccinate their kids from addiction...especially when they held lavish parties with expensive booze to drink...of course for any occasion they could think of! Blame the doctors? No, blame the rich people that passed very strict laws who are members of Congress for it. It is really about their mentality..."My kid would never even think of abusing drugs! I am a perfect parent and spent money left and right for my child to succeed." Well, the rising epidemic is only going to get worse. Now, the rich kids make their own fentanol sp? from their IVY league advanced chemistry courses Mommy and Daddy sent them to to "succeed" in life to once again, be able to "show off" the "object...not their child or person" to others in order to boost their egos even more! I am irate at what you are experiencing. It is not about the doctors. They are well aware about addiction in my state, and I have not had one doctor that over-prescribed me opiates for pain. The doctors' know they will lose their license to practice in a heartbeat here. But you? You are on a pain clinic with very legitimate reasons for having to take these drugs! Their answer is to have you withdraw, become anxious about benzo withdrawals that cause seizures just as alcohol withdrawal does...and think of suicide? This is a classic case of why you would seek out illicit drugs and buy prescription tranquilizers illegally!!! So, thanks to the rich folks...poor black people have had needles in their arms for centuries...did Congress care? NOPE. Now, they do because when their kids or relatives are considered "junkies...lepers of society" it is a direction reflection on them. Selfish as always. The doctor was investigated because of the new laws Congress and the states have implemented. YOU are being directly affected by it. I would call the media if I were you! And, restate in different ways what I just wrote to you. God Bless you...you need to make it public regardless of if you are addicted. Don't be ashamed. BE ANGRY enough to help yourself life the quality of life you deserve as a human being!

ladylothian , if you take the medica marijuana back to your state and your state is a non mm state, you can be arrested. You will need to see a dr for a prescription. It also is expensive and not covered by insurance.

Hi everybody & what I really want to know is how is Grandma Pat now? These new regulations of no benzo's if you're on opiates is a sham. Was on ativan for years with my opiates, never had a problem, then told new rules were on opiates, no benzo's, period. Very hard to get off of these, haven't slept for over 3 months. Anyway, just wanted to know how you are now?

For those talking about being prescribed both opioids and benzodiazepenes, it does seem like doctors are going to be much more conservative with the combination of the two moving forward. This comes directly from the FDA. Who else has been affected by this?

" FDA warns about serious risks and death when combining opioid pain or cough medicines with benzodiazepines; requires its strongest warning

A U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) review has found that the growing combined use of opioid medicines with benzodiazepines or other drugs that depress the central nervous system (CNS) has resulted in serious side effects, including slowed or difficult breathing and deaths. Opioids are used to treat pain and cough; benzodiazepines are used to treat anxiety, insomnia, and seizures. In an effort to decrease the use of opioids and benzodiazepines, or opioids and other CNS depressants, together, we are adding Boxed Warnings, our strongest warnings, to the drug labeling of prescription opioid pain and prescription opioid cough medicines, and benzodiazepines.
Health care professionals should limit prescribing opioid pain medicines with benzodiazepines or other CNS depressants only to patients for whom alternative treatment options are inadequate. If these medicines are prescribed together, limit the dosages and duration of each drug to the minimum possible while achieving the desired clinical effect. Warn patients and caregivers about the risks of slowed or difficult breathing and/or sedation, and the associated signs and symptoms. Avoid prescribing prescription opioid cough medicines for patients taking benzodiazepines or other CNS depressants, including alcohol.

Patients taking opioids with benzodiazepines, other CNS depressant medicines, or alcohol, and caregivers of these patients, should seek medical attention immediately if they or someone they are caring for experiences symptoms of unusual dizziness or lightheadedness, extreme sleepiness, slowed or difficult breathing, or unresponsiveness. Unresponsiveness means that the person doesn’t answer or react normally or you can’t wake them up. Talk with your health care professional if you have questions or concerns about taking opioids or benzodiazepines. "

LINUS: If you are going the amino acid route, GABA and DPA can also be very helpful. I have recently been turned on to a product called Synaptamine. It is an amino acid blend that uses nano-technology to cross the blood/brain barrier very effectively.

The government is concerns about prescription pain meds getting in the hands of those they are no prescribed for. When this happens, they are abused and peope over dose. The government is also concerned about the number of chronic pain patients that are on high doses of opiates because the risks of death increases the higher the dose. Other meds like Soma and Valium also increase the risk of death.

The ones to be angry at are the pharmaceutical companies. Pharmaceutical companies lied to the FDA and doctors regarding the risks of taking opiates.

If your pain meds have been decreased, it will take a few months, but it will get better. You will find that you are able to function on a lower dose of meds. You do have to have a good attitude and try and manage by adjusting your life style. No one likes not being able to do things they want to do. Unfortunately, that is part of any chronic illness.

DEVON: Give CBD a try. They have been able to isolate much of the medicinal part of MMJ separate from the THC, which is the part that gets you "stoned". So you may have better luck with CBD, since it isn't intoxicating. It's also legal in all 50 states because of that.

Ssq... Thank you so much for replying, I have yet to hear anything about Grandma Pat. I just pray she got the help she so desperately needs. I have lost 2 sisters to suicide that suffered in pain. Mentally and Physically took their lives. You say I should write to the DEA, though people who know me and the suffering of my mental and physical status, say i should write a book. But I don't care to launder my words to anyone. But when I read G.P. it made me cry and how badly i miss my sisters. I guess we both can just pray she is doing well. No one should have to live in pain, including the people that have addiction to the opiates or any other medication, but it is given to the ones that DON'T need it. And the ones living with actual 24/7 pain, are the ones that get thrown to the curb. It's such a horrible way of life. No quality of life when you are an actual pain sufferer. Its nice to know someone is out there hearing me. The condition of my fingers make it very painful to type, so hopefully you're blessed and have a caring Dr. God Bless You...

Shae, tell me about it, I was at a pain clinic, the doctor got raided, not only were all us patients at the ER for help, most of us were then "flagged" for being his patients, we can't even get our medical records, the ER was flooded with his patients and the ones that were known drug addicts were not given anything, I was lucky to get some Percocet for withdrawal and my primary got me into another pain clinic. For most of the others they had to go through hell.

I had no idea soma was so nasty! I've been on three a day for over a year. Luckily I have never taken three a day. Some times I take one, sometimes I take two. I was on it decades ago and I never had a problem. Thanks for the warning.

Butter, you are very lucky you are in control of your so as, I am surprised that your doc is still prescribing it, all of the docs where I live will not prescribe them, only my surgeon who I no longer see. They helped me but then I needed more and more, then it became a disaster, I know that in the end it is better for me to not have them in my possession, I loved the way they made me feel.

I never thought of filling my own capsules, that is a great idea, I have tried mixing the powder with juices like they suggest and I still cannot tolerate the taste and I can tolerate a lot. I bought the first time off of a head shop, never again, Kratom country I believe is where I got my last supply, I just came across my old invoice, I am going to place another order, you think the red strain is best for pain and withdrawals?? I asked them, they tend not to want to give advice, but this stuff has been taken by people for thousand of years, to date, no one has died or overdosed on this stuff. I just got some hope back into my life cause I remember I had it overnighted so I wouldn't go through withdrawals, and it really helped. Thanks

Yes, I take red vein thai. Eternally Herbal is a very good vendor. I put a small amount of liquid in my mouth then toss the powder in and swallow. Chocolate milk works best. Good luck!
