Hi my name is Andrew. i suffer from 2 bulging discs in my lower back and degenerate disc disease. i presently have kaiser but i done having them screw with me and i am switching to the ppo offered through my work. I need to know of a doctor in the Torrance California or Lomita area that understands chronic severe pain and who will put me back on my pain meds when i switch. Any help would be much appreciated, thank you all in advance.

Boy,some people.... A referral IS NOT NEEDED with PPO PLAN INSURANCE!! This is one of the main reasons that we get this kind of insurance in the first place.. Thank you, this has been a pubic service announcement.....

I am at a loss to understand why more people don't contact their state and Federal representatives to complain that new regulations, meant to cut down on prescription drug abuse, is adversely affecting their Constitutional right to privacy. A physician-patient relationship is private and should never be influenced by public policy regulations. Tell your representatives that you will not vote for them in the next election if this problem persists. We are gradually losing our rights as Americans. How long will we stand for it? Both parties are guilty. It is time to cross party lines and vote for the best person. I implore everyone to communicate with their representatives. If you have trouble writing, ask a friend for help. It is nothing to be ashamed of. What is shameful are self-serving politicians who don't do the job of serving their constituents.

I have bad discs and nerve pain and bad knees and need to find good brand of Oxycodone. Like Roxicet. That was the best brand that helped me.

Hi Andrew, I realize this is old, but I used to live in Torrance and Lonita (and PV) so I wanted to respond to you.
I used to have to drive to Santa Monica and pay cash for a decent PCP when I had Kaiser because they were awful. I think Dr. Patt stopped seeing pain patients, but if he’s your regular doctor he may help you. He saved my life by treating me properly when I moved to the area and Kaiser wanted to give me Vicodin and lots of NSAIDS.

Re: House (# 2)

Some people!! There is a difference between an insurance referral and the referral that specialists require. No, you don’t need a referral for your PPO to pay for it, but most specialists won’t give you an appointment without a referral from your doctor. They want to see that you’ve had tests/a diagnosis, etc.
PSA for you House
