Is Soma a narcotic muscle relaxer

my doctor has told me that that soma is a narcotic and she does not want to prescribe it to me any more. I suffer from chronic back pain as well as muscle spasms. I have tried other muscle relaxers as well as anti inflamatories and none of then do not work. Soma is the only one I have found to work for me without making me sleepy. Any information you can give me i would really appreciate. Thank you, Dana ## No, it is not a narcotic. Soma contains the active ingredient Carisoprodol, but it has been known to be habit forming and to be abused, by some people. However, what you have to remember is that prescribing it is entirely up to your doctor, she is not obligated to do so. You also have the option of finding a different doctor, for any reason you choose. Are there any other questions? ...

muscle relaxer that's most like soma

I have been on soma for about eight years. It really is the only muscle relaxer to really help. But recently most all doctors here in Georgia have stopped prescribing them. Do you know why this would be and are there any other muscle relaxers that may be similar to soma? ## The laws were changed a few years ago and Soma was made a controlled substance. You will find better medicine in the Muscle Relaxer family although it will not feel like Soma does ## There is really none comparable, it was the strongest one available. I've done well with both Flexeril and Skelaxin, but they may not work as well for you. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I have degenerative spine disea...

soma, carisoprodol

doctors will not write RX for this anymore I am allergic to Vicodin; codeine all sorts of pain meds Soma always worked for me I sit with extreme pain; nothing works all = depression; never had depression till whole body turned into pain Real, overwhelming pain; can't sleep; cannot eat; nausea from pain ## There are better muscle relaxers than Soma on the market. Many Doctors don't like prescribing Soma as they have had personal experience with this worthless medication. With that said I am lucky my doctor will prescribe it, he is a great man! ## There's too many interactions between Soma opiate drugs and benzodiazepines for doctors to prescribe them as they once were ## I have the exact problem if they won't prescribe soma than the key should have something that works as...

round, white, no markings, pill

round white pill same size as soma but no markings ## It's a very small all white pill with no markings or lines. ## Could be for almost anything over the counter. Could be a Vitamin C or any supplement ## Hello Comments, In the United States the FDA requires that medication be identifiable by its appearance (color, imprint, size, shape etc.). This means the pill you found can be a number of things ranging from a vitamin/supplement to a foreign drug that is not regulated by the FDA. If the pill turned out to be a vitamin or supplement it would be a daunting task to identify the pill with the limited information you have due to the sheer number of brands and types available in the United States. If you are concerned about the contents of the pill I would suggest you contact your loca...

Pain Management Doctor in Florida

I just moved from NYC to the Florida panhandled. I am having a difficult time finding a pain management doctor who will continue the meds I have been on for a broken back, failed spinal fusion. I take oxycondone and soma. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. My other choice is to fly back to NY. Many thanks ## You will probably need to fly back to New York for now. However after a reasonable amount of time your out of state providers might cut you off and tell you to find a Doctor in your area ## I know this is older but just in case you're still looking...Dr. David Norfleet in crestview. They take insurance. He has no bedside manner and honestly I don't like him BUT after the first visit you see the NP and she is WONDERFUL! Very caring! The office staff is beyond rude....

Soma? NO IMPRINT AT ALL !!!

These pills are white, completly blank, except for a slash across the middle on one side. Are these candy? WTF Are they? Have I been totally scammed???? ## Well, where were they obtained from? if they have no markings, we can rule them out as being a U.S. approved and manufactured Soma/Carisoprodol tablet, because all such prescription medications are required to have imprints to enable their identification. However, it could be any one of a large number of over the counter products, since they do not fall under this law. Learn more Soma details here. ## They sound like somas from mexico. A friend brough me some from there yesterday. .no imprint, larger than a percocet with little e down the middle on one side and nothing on other side ## Help, I got the exact same thing.
