I had to take a court ordered urine test yersterday. I was callled by CPS today and they have taken my kids due to a positive reading for meth. I have read so many conflicting views that I doont know what to beleave. I have an emergancy court hearing this Monday due to neg test.
meds I have been on for 3 years-
All Generic Brans of each.
Aderal 20mg 3xday-
Wellbutrin SR 150mg 3xday-
Metoprol Tartrate 25mg 2xday-
Clonazepam 2mg 2xday -
Ondansetron HCL 4mg take Every 6 hrs -
Hydrocodone, NORCO 7.5mg 4xday-
Ventolin HFA Albuterol Sulfate Inhahaler-
Gifibrozil 600mg 2xdday
Risperidone 0.5mg 1xday
Vitamins - B-12, C,Omega-3 EPA+DHA Fish Oil
I also was sick at the time of testing and had been taking Vicks Breath Rite, Sudafed.
Is any of that the cause for the positive test? I also know on Monday at court I will have another urine test as well as hair test. One final note the origanial urine sample was done in a cup with the testing conclusions on the outside of the cup I used and right after I came out of the bathroom, he had me pour out the test cup of my urine in the tolite. That was the end of my testing and they said they would call my case worker with the results.

Your problem would be your Adderall. Here is what is in
Adderall=Chemically, Adderall is a mixture of several amphetamine salts; specifically, it is composed of equal parts (by mass) of amphetamine aspartate monohydrate, amphetamine sulfate, dextroamphetamine sulfate, and dextroamphetamine saccharate.

I tested positive for small amount of methamphetamine at the Dr. I am prescribed morphine er 60 mg/2xday, celexa 40 mg per day, lisinopril 20 mg daily, theophylline 200mg daily, Xanax. 5 mg 3 daily, and finally ipratropium .5 and albuterol 3mg inhalation solution 4 times a day. I've had methamphetamine in the past but have not had any in years. However I have suspicion that it may have been smoked in our house by step son and or friends of his. They all deny it but who wouldn't. I've discussed this with Dr and she is sending to a lab to do a more detailed test. The only med I'm not sure of is the albuterol solution in my nebulizer. It does make me nervous and "shakey" after each use. Is it possible the albuterol is the culprit? I really want to believe my step son but Dr said if it has been smoked in my house, I would also test positive and she would have no choice but to cut my pain and nerve meds out. Honestly, I don't think I can function without either one of them. Anyone else out there have a similar situation? Thanks.

Thanks a bunch. And for anyone else who is taking albuterol, it will most definitely show up as meth. I have nerve problems also and things like this can really send you into panic attacks. Thanks again!

Sorry for the chemistry, you may need to do a little Googling, but it's all in the chemical structure: Phenyl-ethyl-amine. This the the skeletal structure of molecules like amphetamine, ecstacy, albuterol, epinephrines, pseudoephedrine, etc. There is aromatic structure, derived by the benzene ring (phenyl) followed by 2 carbons (ethyl) and a nitrogen atom (amine). Google the chemical structure of whatever and if the phenylethylamine is present, there is a very good chance it may cause a methamphetamine false positive.
