Epinephrine Overview

Adrenaline, also known as epinephrine, is a hormone and medication.[3][4] Adrenaline is normally produced by both the adrenal glands and a small number of neurons in the medulla oblongata where it acts as a neurotransmitter involved in regulating visceral functions (e.g., respiration).[3][5] It plays an important role in the fight-or-flight response by increasing blood flow to muscles, output of the heart, pupil dilation response...

EpiCal

Used for cardiopulmonary resuscitation in conjunction (may be a combination of epinephrine and something else)? Thank you. ## Epinephrine is sometimes used, since it can act as a stimulant, which may boost a failing heart rate. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, nervousness, insomnia, and anorexia. As to EpiCal, are you sure that is the name of it? I haven't been able to find anything under that name.

racemic epinephrine vs. l epinephrine 1:1000

Does anyone have any supporting documentation for the use of Racemic epinephrine over L epinephrine in croup patients? One fact that no one seems to acknowledge in studies that I've read is that you need 5cc's of L epinephrine 1:1000 to be equivalent to 0.5cc Racemic epinephrine. To me, this seems to be a major downfall when talking about giving a nebulizer treatment to a croupy baby and attempting NOT to create any more irritation to that child. (Anyone who has ever had to give a nebulizer to a croupy baby can agree that they usually don't like it and try to fight it.) The goal is always to give the medication in the most effective way and in the least stressful manner to the croupy child. A 5cc nebulizer treatment is a VERY long time for that child, especially when you can...

Is Duleek Dp Generic For Deplin

Have been prescribed Deplin and my pharmacy is substituting Duleek DP. My Dr. says there is no generic for Deplin and wants my Rx filled as written next time. I am also experiencing weight gain which I feel could be associated with the Duleek DP I am taking. ## Answer is yes and no. Delplin does have a generic equivalent but it's not AB rated by the FDA. This means while it has same chemical makeup, it differs in bioavailability (may not be absorbed in the brain identically). I admit Delphin is quite expensive as compared to alternative ("generics"). Most patients who take Delplin also are taking an anti-depression medication in conjuction to Deplin with increases effectiveness via brain folate. It has been my observation that weight gain is a common side effect of many anti...

Dental-Articaine and Epinephrine

Is Articaine and Epinephrine used in local anaesthesia, vegetarian? I am a Jain and don't use anything made from animal origin. ## Since I know epic was synthesized in a laboratory, from natural substances and some chemical intervention, I wouldn't say it was vegan or vegetarian. See how you think if you ever need a valve replacement! Or a hip replacement! Or facial reconstructive surgery. Did it ever occur to you that God created those of upswept the potential to be healers and researchers? And that He might lead us to wards medsand treatments that are not fully "non-animal" in origin.. There would be TENS OF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE DEAD if we applied your logic to the first ensigns!

dynapep

energy shot ## According to the manufacturer "Dynapep™ contains a multitude of synergistic ingredients that are both oil and water soluble that effect CNS activity, induced thermogenesis, and increased up-regulation of epinephrine and nor epinephrine (energy). DynaPep™ utilizes a pegylated pH sensitive liposomal and micelle technology that allows immediate absorption of the outer polymerized shell (tier-1) followed by a slow release of the inner encapsulated spheres (tier-2). The two- tiered delivery technology allows for an immediate release of nootropic-like phytochemicals engaging a central nervous system response while suspending a potentiated epinephrine storage for induced thermogenesis and adrenocorticotrpic synthesis. Tier-1 initiates release of the nootropic lik...

doctor told me it was adrenaline it was given IM ## I'm not sure what medication name you mean, there are several that are similar, because the name brands of most of that class use the endings of erol. However, what I can tell you is that they all basically contain Epinephrine, which is a hormone that acts as a stimulant. Our bodies even naturally produce it in times of stress, it's what you often hear referred to as the 'adrenalin rush'. Learn more Epinephrine details here. Is there anything I can help with?

Pharmaceutical Companies

Hi everyone, Just a post to get opinions on how Pharmaceutical companies promote their products within the UK. Do you feel that introducing TV advertising for prescription drugs would benefit the health of the nation or only the companies? If anyone is interested in this subject or feel strongly about it, it would be great if you could take a few minutes to complete a survey I have created (link is at bottom) for my final year project at university. Thanks a lot ## The link you posted is broken - can anybody else share their thoughts about this? ## From what I have read Asthmamefrin (Epinephrine) is now a prescription drug - is this correct ## Hi Jeanne, you are right that AsthmaNefrin is a prescription drug. It is used for treating shortness of breath, chest tightness, and wheezing ass...
