Tramadol Overview

Tramadol, sold under the brand name Ultram among others,[2] is an opioid pain medication used to treat moderate to moderately severe pain.[1] When taken by mouth in an immediate-release formulation, the onset of pain relief usually occurs within an hour.[6] It is often combined with paracetamol (acetaminophen) as this is known to improve the efficacy of tramadol in relieving pain.[3] Serious side effects may include seizures, increased risk of serotonin syndrome, decreased alertness, and drug...

Can kidney transplant patients use tramadol? Will tramadol make you reject your kidney? ## Is the prescribing doctor aware that you have had a kidney transplant? It isn't always contraindicated, but you do need to make sure your doctor is aware and has decided it is right for you to take. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation, and headache.

I've been taking meloxicam 15mg once a day for three weeks. Now it does not seem to be helping at all. I have avascular necrosis (AVN) of the hip. Can I take tramadol 50mg together with meloxicam 15mg for the pain? ## They are sometimes prescribed together, but you should only take them both, if your doctor approves. The FDA warns that Tramadol carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, and headache. Is there anything else I can help with?

OL-Tram real or not?
7 Replies RSS
I'm just curious. I received ol-tram in my prescription refill that is an all white circular pill with no markings. Blister pack says ol-tram Tramadol Hydrochloride 50 mg. Anyone else know if these are real tramadol ## @bambirose, From what I've researched, OL-TRAM is reported to be a foreign brand name of Tramadol. However, its legitimacy probably depends on where or how you came about obtaining them, since as you may know, many pharmacies overseas can often be unreliable. There are also several other discussion threads here on this same topic, where most individuals note having received their blister packs from Hab Pharmaceuticals in India. I don't know if this is the case with your situation, but if it is, this particular manufacturer actually lists OL-Tram on their websi...

Ketorolaco Tramadol
4 Replies RSS
I was given this drug in Mexico after a serious accident. What is the difference in this drug and ordinary Tramadol? My physician in the states has prescribed regular Tramadol for pain of arthritis and fibromyalgia. ## The medication from Mexico contained both Ketorolac and Tramadol. Ketorolac is a potent nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, used to treat pain, fever and swelling. Tramadol is a relatively mild opiate narcotic that is just used to treat pain. Putting an NSAID, with the Narcotic tends to enhance the analgesic effects. As similar medication that is available in the U.S. would be Ultracet, which is also available as a generic, it couples the Tramadol with Acetaminophen. Is there anything else I can help with? ## My back is killing me can I I take diabetic pills and I take high b...

Tramadol HCL Safety And Potency Past Expiration Date
61 Replies RSS
I pulled a muscle in my lower back and am in a lot of pain but am unemployed at the moment and can't afford to see a doctor and fill a new prescription. I found an old bottle of Tramadol HCL 50 MG with an expiration date of 3/22/2007. It has been stored in a cool, dark, dry cabinet all of this time. Does Tramadol HCL become unsafe or lose its potency after its expiration date, especially this long after? ## Unsafe no, loss of potency yes! In the original factory sealed bottles that your pharmacy receives, most medications are only good for 3 years, once those are opened and they are placed in a bottle that exposed them to heat and light, they degrade faster and will lose potency. Learn more Tramadol details here. Are there any other comments or questions? ## Thanks for the reply Ver...

I take ol-tram 100mg for chronic pain issues. From HAB pharmaceuticals. I open the capsule and tip it in my mouth, because I can't swallow tablets as I am a little baby, lol. Female, between 25 - 30 years old. Healthy weight. Will let you know how it goes. ## Has been 2 hours, feel fine, has taken the edge of pain, will take one more 100mg, should remove pain. So far no problems at all with HAB pharmaceuticals ol-tram. ## Has been 5 hours since first capsule, 3 hours since second capsule. Pain has subsided, feel fine, exactly same result as from any other tramadol. There is nothing wrong with ol-tram 100mg from HAB pharmaceuticals. I would question the motive from the previous person in this forum who says these are not effective. . . ## So how did you get your script filled with th...

tramadol amneal vs mylan
78 Replies RSS
all our pharms here have switched to amneal.doesnt do a thing except give a headache. brand does make a differance.the mylan works great. ## Yes, there can be differences in generic medications. Once a medication is available to be made a generic, it is allowed to differ, in the active ingredient, from the name brand by as much as plus or minus 20%. The FDA considers this an acceptable therapeutic window. The problem that you can run into, of course, is that generics do not have to measure against each other, just against the name brand. This means that while one generic may be high quality and contain 100mgs of a given medication, another generic may only contain 80mgs and another could contain 120mgs. Not everyone is sensitive to such changes and most people don't even notice, how...

attempting to identify ## tramadol Tramadol is a narcotic-like pain reliever. Tramadol is used to treat moderate to severe pain. Tramadol extended-release is used to treat moderate to severe chronic pain when treatment is needed around the clock. Tramadol may also be used for other purposes not listed in this medication guide. ## This is a 50mgs Tramadol tablet, a generic for Ultram. It is considered an opiate. Some of the most common side effects include: nausea, dry mouth, constipation and drowsiness. If anyone has more information, please post! ## I am NOT a fan of Tramadol! It landed me in the hospital, I had a grand mal seizure from it. All I wanted was to take something other than percocet or vicodin for my herniated discs. The dr told me I'm better of taking 1 of them instead...

which is stronger between tramadol 50 mg and tramadol/APAP
6 Replies RSS
I've been taking the Tramadol/APAP 325 with Acetaminophen for many years as I have Fibromyalgia. My doctor just changed it to Tramadol 50mg. Is that stronger? I'm feeling a bit dizzy or lightheaded now. ## Hello, Carolyn! How are you? Yes, the 50mg tablet is stronger, since the combination medication is only available with 37.5mgs of Tramadol and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you so much for the info. I was on the combo Tramadol for over 10 years. I'm blessed to not have addictive tendencies so this change is actually better since my pa...
