Tramadol Overview

Tramadol, sold under the brand name Ultram among others,[2] is an opioid pain medication used to treat moderate to moderately severe pain.[1] When taken by mouth in an immediate-release formulation, the onset of pain relief usually occurs within an hour.[6] It is often combined with paracetamol (acetaminophen) as this is known to improve the efficacy of tramadol in relieving pain.[3] Serious side effects may include seizures, increased risk of serotonin syndrome, decreased alertness, and drug...

tramadol for methadone withdrawal
9 Replies RSS Share
Ive been battling the monster methadone for about 3 years now and I'm sick of it. I tapered down to 20mg a day and ran out. After trying elimodrol and withdrawal ease supplements and feeling OK for the first 2 days, I thought cool I will be OK. Hell no, day three my body told me that stuff ain't doing anything. I had a bottle of tramadol so I took about 250 mg and after 30 min I noticed I was sitting still and not wanting to jump out of my skin. WOW. So now I've been doing the same for 4 days and still alright. Is it too good to be true? Am I just trading one for the other or can it really help? I am sole provider of my wife and two young kids, so missing alot of work to go detox is out of the question. And cold turkey I can't handle right now. Anyone been here before?, ...

is 50mg tramadol as effective 10mg methadone
10 Replies RSS Share
is 50mg tramadol as effective as 10mg methadone ## best tramadol ## @mark, According to a double-blind clinical trial, Tramadol was reported to be more efficacious in managing the symptoms of opioid withdrawal (and with fewer side effects) than Methadone. This study is based on a 450 mg/day dose of Tramadol in comparison to a 15mg/day dose of Methadone. So if you ask me, my thoughts are that 50mgs of Tramadol wouldn't have results that are as significant as what was displayed in the clinical trials, since that would only amount to 200-300mgs a day (when taken every 4-6 hours) as opposed to 450mg/day. Results will probably also depend on each individuals tolerance to pain meds as well as body chemistry and several other underlying factors. I'd encourage you to talk with your doct...

What does tramadol from mexico look like?

I saw a DR assistant and she prescribed a medication for me-- Her name is on the Rx bottle with the abv. Aurobindo -- not sure what this means...help ## Hello, Clinton! How are you? Arubobindo is the name of the manufacture of those particular tablets. The FDA classifies Tramadol as an opioid, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I need help identifying a pill from Mexico. It says it's tramadol 50mg and it's in a light tan capsule with no imprints. Is this real? ## I have these generic Tramadol pills from Mexico and the brand says Paliadol, but they are plain white pills with nothing on them. Are these real?

What Does 50mg Tramadol Look Like

I hava a presciption of tramadol thats looks diffrent than my others it has 319 inprint and my others have an an627 why are they different? ## Because they were manufactured by a different company. Tramadol is a generic medication, so there are several companies that manufacture it and, under federal law, each company has to use a unique imprint for their product that will enable its active ingredient, dosage and the manufacturer to be identified, in case of emergency. Many pharmacies will order from whichever company is offering the cheapest supply, at the time they have to restock their shelves, so it isn't unusual to receive pills that have a different marking, when you go in for a refill or to get a new prescription filled. The pill you received, however, is a 50mg Tramadol tabl...

tramadol hcl 50 mg/for coughing spasms?
22 Replies RSS Share
Why would my ENT give this to me for coughing spasms? ## Hello, Janet! How are you? Tramadol can be used to suppress coughing spasms, it tends to suppress the cough reflex. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## no thank you very much. ## Give me a break tramadol is not an narcotic. I've been taking it for 6 years and it does help with pain. ## Thanks for the info. I'm not the least bit concerned that it could be addictive. ## Let me be clear, i have chronic pain and yes they can be habit forming and if you stop immediately you will feel discomfort for a few days but nothing compared to narcotics. ## I've...

Questions about tramadol
Post a Reply Share
I was prescribed Tramadol by my primary physician for years. I was in a motor vehicle accident and was rear-ended by a heavy duty truck (cement mixer). It caused severe back pain and sciatica. My pain is constant. I was able to live my life while on tramadol. Then the opioid scare hit and my physician told me she could no longer prescribe them and offered no help to get me of them. Isn't it the obligation of the physician to wean the patient off or offer an alternative? I did not want to take anything stronger because I could not function. My physician gave me the name of a pain clinic but did nothing to assist me in getting an appointment. I called them and the soonest appointment is 2 months out. I have been thru hell going from taking two 50 mg tablets 3 times a day to nothing. I am

New to tramadol.

After many years of back and knee pain with no success on codeine and panadol for pain relief. I changed my dr and he has put me on tramadol 50 to 100 3 times daily, relief was amazing I feel a different person after one week. I do see many people trying to get off the drug on here. But if it was working for you with pain relief why not just stay on it. I am 77 years old so don’t think addiction would be a worry. What do others think .? ## The NIH does warn that it carries the risk of being habit forming, but not everyone is prone to developing an addiction to any given substance. The NIH also warns that this medication may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. (NDC code 0378-4152 for more information.) Is there anything else I can h...
