I am on disability for chronic back pain and degenerative disk disease, in the past I have been on 80 mil oxicontin for about eight years, but have not been on any medications in the past year. I am now at the point of needing pain meds again. ## Hello, Stan! How are you? I'm very sorry that you're in pain. If you require such a medication on a long-term ongoing basis, you'll need to see a pain management specialist. Do you currently have a PCP that you see regularly? If so, asking them to refer you to someone would most likely be the quickest and easiest way to get the help you need. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## There are no new regu...

I was in a car accident and am in a lot of pain but due to my age the doctors I have seen think I'm just trying to get pain pills for fun and that's not the case any ideas on doctors in st Louis area who easily write pain scripts ## Hey john doe, Unfortunately, no one can really know ahead of time what a doctor is or is not willing to prescribe, as that is based on the doctor's discretion and not on someone else's previous appointment (especially since many doctor's are now worried about losing their licensing for prescribing too many narcotics). Some advice I can give you is to not specifically ask for any 'specific medication' when you see a new doctor. Just make sure to transfer or take a copy of all your medical records with you. Then, the best approach i...

I have Chronic IBS and acute Chrons disease. I have been taking Vicodin to help control the bouts of diarrhea and severe abdominal pain. My concern is all that Tylenol that comes with Vicodin is damaging my liver, thus more problems. I have tried methadone and it works GREAT and 40mg lasts all day instead of a pill every 4 hrs. I need a doctor in or around the St. Louis area that can and will prescribe methadone for pain management. I have no insurance, preferably a doctor who will accept cash patients that is not to costly. Who and where are they in this area? Thank You Anyone ## Hi, Stacey! How are you? There are actually a couple of problems that you're going to run into. The first will be the fact that you're a cash patient. Many doctors will not prescribe controlled substan...

I’m in Lake Charles and my Doctor stopped my Percocet 10/325 mainly because I was complaining about it no longer working. Different manufacturers & fillers I believe. Anyway I’m currently on SSI Disability for my chronic pain and since stopping the Oxycodone last August I’ve had no quality of life. I can’t sleep well because of pain and can’t wait even do Daily living activities. New Doctor just kept pushing Gabapentin and different antidepressants, plus I’ve tried Lyrica & Cymbalta with horrible side effects from all. They’re trying to make me crazy. I don't even care if it’s Oxycodone. I’d rather have something that’s extended release. I’m in Lake Charles if anyone knows who may help me close by and not judg...

I've had chronic pain due to autoimmune diseases for several yrs. I have been seeing a PM doctor in another state but now am in Louisville, Ky staying with a family member who has cancer. I will be here indefinitely and am running into dead ends finding a doctor who is willing to see me and write my Methadone 10 mg that I take 4 x a day. Any suggestions? It is costing me $400 a month to fly round trip each month. ## What you really need to do is make an appointment with someone as a new patient, but without asking them ahead of time if they'll prescribe any certain medication. You can tell them what your health issues are, but if you ask for a particular medication, especially one like this that is a controlled substance, most doctors and their staff are taught to view that as d...

Does anyone know a pain management doctor in Louisville, KY that will prescribe oxycodone/roxicodone 30,mg. My family practice doctor who I've seen for a little over five years is no longer able to prescribe narcotics due to the new laws. If anyone could help, I would so appreciate it! Thanks and have a great day! ## Has your doctor been able to recommend anyone that you can see? They usually keep lists of places they can send their patients in such instances. However, regardless of the new laws, all doctors can still prescribe pain medications, there are just specific restrictions, so your doctor must not feel that you meet the criteria necessary. Learn more Roxicodone details here. What specific reason did they give for no longer prescribing? ## His license was suspended for presc...

Looking for a new pain management doctor. I was a patient of Dr. Padda, he's a total jerk and you have to wait all day, the office is nasty and so are his employees. But, he will write. I had to quit seeing due to a change of insurance. I don't want to go through 20 appointments w various doctors. Just wanting to find someone quick and easy to deal with for my existing pain treatment. ## I was just referred to the padda institute for pain management. I've had one appointment with dr belcher out of the north county location. I can't tell if he will write or not or just do injections. I have done injections and other interventional type before with little success. Have you found anyone yet?

My husband and I are looking for a new pain management doctor, because the one we go to in Lake Charles, LA seems intent on bleeding us for every penny we have and threatening to not make us appointments for the following month if we don't pay the amount that they tell us we need to pay. My husband is disabled, but is still waiting for his SSI to be approved. In 2008, he was driving a log truck with an unloaded trailer and he was hit head on by a pickup truck. Point of impact was shown to my husband by the Trooper that was there, and it was on my husband's side of the road on the white line. He was trying to ditch the truck instead of get hit, but the guy whipped over too fast for my husband to get to the ditch. This was on a 2 lane blacktop road. The front tire and the tank wit...

So I was put on pain pills and not only did they not even really help that much, but they messed my stomach up so bad that I was hospitalized for liver trouble a couple years ago. After that I started going to the clinic to receive Methadone. Not only is it way too expensive, but I now that I have insurance I just want to start going to a regular doctor and just get my methadone prescribed now. I need help to find a doctor to do thi...

My husband lost his pain doctor. He is in such severe foot pain due to a spinal injury he can barely walk any more. Methadone was the only medication he could function on and not be almost bedfast. He has been on other meds that do not help. The doctor who performed his last surgery can not pinpoint where the pain is coming from and will not operate. We are desperate.
