Doctors In Nj That Prescribe Oxycodone (Page 4)

Updated

Help, Seeking new Doc in NJ (Middlesex/Monmouth County areas) I have been going to a pain mgmt. doctor who was giving me oxycontin ER 40mg twice a day and 10mg Percocet 4 times a day for breakthrough pain. They have cut my meds in half in the last 2 months, I have always taken meds correctly and never had a dirty UA. My levels were always good. I have bulging and herniated discs and am in a lot of pain. They are cutting everyone down on meds because of over medicating some patient etc.. (and now everyone pays). I want to find new pain doctor who will give me what I was originally taking does anyone have any suggestions. Thanks for the help. please get back to me with suggestions. Thanks Again. want to find new doc before my next appointment

My heart so breaks for you guys forced to hell and back by no fault of your own.My daughter in law who has dealt with a chronic pain disorder since childhood. As is almost inevitable she became dependent on these strong analgesic's.After losing her legit prescriber she was unable to obtain a level of relief that could prevent her from being sick ( abstinence syndrome ).With no other option she resorted to methadone but at a treatment facility. She has successfully dosed at a moderate level and after some time she has received her methadone once a month with her take home privleges
.It doesn't relieve all her pain but it's manageable and is able to live a fairly productive life as a good mom, professional business person and friend. At first it caused some shame for the family until we were able to witness the marked difference in her functionality and ability to perform her duties with no visable impairment at all,Unlike her condition while using powerful opiates prescribed by pain management years earlier.I understand it's a controversial modality but with all due respect I wonder if any others ever considered this as an option for your chronic intractable pain syndrome? I wish all the very best...

Dear TreatmentOptions, I'm very happy your daughter in law was helped by methadone as the same thing happened to me almost exactly like her as I was badly injured in a car accident at 17 -my boyfriend was killed at 15 all due to a drunk driver! Sad as that was I was injured very badly for life, multiple injuries and surgeries & in hospital 6 months & learned to walk again, got dependent on the opiate meds! I eventually also went on methadone and it helped me very much! I now am older and have arthritis and many other problems in my back, knee, legs & ankles ! I started back in pain mngt doctors over 10 +yrs, now the doctors don't want to prescribe as I moved a couple times and these laws and I need the meds for pain so I am having terrible pain, little medicine and the methadone programs don't take insurance! I am on disability now and get Medicare first and second I'm eligible for Medicaid which used to cover the methadone programs! It doesn't in majority of places now! I even took it from my pain doctor yrs ago but I thankfully got off the methadone as it was a very painful withdrawal and still people think it's ONLY for opiate use (but it's not yet still carries the shame to some) but if I could find a doctor to prescribe it, it would be covered under my medicare at a pain doctor /but I'm on MS Contin 60mg ER 2x a day, 15mg MS Contin IR (immediate release for breakthrough pain) 2x a day, tizanidine (a muscle relaxer) 2 every 6 hrs, Lyrica and last but not least klonopin for anxiety & seizure prevention! I need this for my anxiety and is also an issue now to get too when you're in pain meds ! So my email is {edited for privacy}. THANK YOU FOR YOUR WELL WISHES, understanding to those of us in pain and your good heart ! I wish your daughter in law the best in life! May she continue to do well! I'm in Albany area now in NY / I'm not sure if u said where u lived but God Bless you and Good luck in the upcoming yr, Love Val

Hello I am very sorry for all who have been having these terrible chronic pains! I to have been suffering from excruciating pain for a yr and was always diagnosed with UTIs..so it was always 15 percet 5 mgs, antibiotics however my pains proceeded to get worse and after finally being referred to a nephrogist and urologist I was referred to my obgyn who was amazing and then referred to a specialist/surgeon who immediately diagnosed me with severe cystitis in bladder and cut pelvic floor muscles from csection and had surgery on the 6th of January to see what else was going on. I was diagnosed with severe endometriosis thru out my pelvic region, my ovary and fallopian tube intertwined and stuck under 3 layers of scar tissue...adenomyosis a hole in uterus. Now I have been almost 4 wks post op still have excruciating pain and was told I will be for rest of my life!!!! Dr can no longer rx anymore pain medication and I am so afraid of withdrawals! But having so many issues finding a pain management Dr who will do injections for my area and to help wheen me off of my pain med and rx any. My life became debilitating..I have a 6 yr old daughter whom is a miracle baby...a wonderful husband of 12 yrs. I cant do anything fun with them... I am confined to my hed with 2 heating pads 24 7!!!! I understand the crack down on meds and I unfortunately have lost many family members to addiction. My brother has metal rods from tail bone to back of neck and he was never into drugs was going to play pro football....and he became terribly addicted and went to heroin and anything he can get his hands on to dull the chronic pain and suffering as well as withdrawal symptoms. He lost his job making $80 grand a yr his house fiancée. So I do understand the drs not wanting to presscribe. But for ppl like us in chronic debilitating pain and we cant even find pain management to help rx us our meds and in my case wheen me off and do injections!!!! If you can please advise me of Drs info in South Jersey I would be extremely greatful!!!! I have called 41 drs so far and basically am being laughed at that I need injections for my reproductive area...so infuriating!

I see I'm not the only one having trouble getting back to a dose comfortable for me. Hello everyone I am a lifelong pain sufferer since I have had scoliosis, degenerative disc disease along with spinal stenosis up and down my spine I have had two major back surgeries along with shoulder surgery. I am looking for a dr not afraid to prescribe based on the patient not what our wonderful government is suggesting. If anyone could help I would be very grateful . I was on 80 mg oxycotin twice a day, 30mg oxycodone, 4 times a day, gabapentin and flexeril also. I was also wondering about any advice about getting xanex how hard it is and what to say. I'm always afraid to say something due to my anxiety please thanks everyone

Hi carmine! I know you said you had an appt. On the 10th. Just checking in to see how it went? I'm agonizing here! Got dropped to 15's my last visit and was told going to 10's on my next visit. I heard of some letter that went out to all the dr's about ppl on benzo's and opiates so I was under the impression that all of this lowering of our meds was mandatory? So I asked my psychiatrist whom I get my 2mg Xanax from (she is very nice & caring) she told me she received one as well it's called a black box letter she said and it came from the surgeon general. It states that if the Dr. Pain management or other prescribing benzo's. Feels a patient is at risk for overdose to taper them to the least available dose. Which is exactly what my PM Dr. Is doing to me. My psychiatrist said it is most definitely because of my high benzo intake. She said they still have free reign to prescribe what they want but are being closely monitored and PM Drs. Guidelines state oxycodone & oxyconfin should only be for terminally ill, cancer patients and palliative care which is someone with a permanent lifelong illness. Well my back & arthritis have not been cured nor fixed with these bulls*** inj's.! I'm sorry but I refuse to go thru that agony that don't even work for 10's this whole intervention is unjust! They are literally driving good ppl to the streets! Wait and see how the supposed already opiate epidemic spikes to an all time high because of what they are doing! I lowered my Xanax to 1mg voluntarily since I was cracking the stix in half anyways in hopes I will stop being seen as a risk instead of a person who is in 24/7 agony and needs to live life out of my bed! Just thought I would let everyone know the facts got it straight from 2 Drs. I live in central NJ anyone know where I can go? Lmk how you made out carmine. Did you make it thru the snowstorm?

Shelly

My appointment was Bulls***. I drove 2 hrs to fill out paper work then waited 3 weeks for an appointment n then at the first evaluation of me he said I'm sorry, even though u have all the paper work and deff should be on meds. But he wanted to give me 30 mg er and vicodin 10/325. So he basically just took my 350 dollars, what f*****g bulls***.

Shelly,

Hi and yes that is the standard memo and correspondence delivered to my south jersey MD as well.I suffer from an autoimmune disease sickle cell anemia which causes flare ups best described as unbearable. My condition provides an exemption as I'm informed so I continue to recieve the 2 powerful opiates/opiods that I've been prescribed for the past 7 years.Sadly over 90% of cpp are effected by these new restrictive laws. I wish there was something I could say to help bc 2 family members were also effected by this but my doc has given them a very generous allowance and more time to acclimate then most others that I've heard about. You are correct I believe this will only cause more street crime and illicit street dealing to medicate these poor cpp's. All my best to you,
Steven

Severereproductivepaingirl,

41 doctors and none will see you? That's beyond insane!!!!! I wish I had something to suggest but even those who had pain relief doctors are all being ceremonially reduced and or withdrawn except for a small % of terminal and or limited intractable pain sufferers. Its very unfair to those who suffer relentless agonizing conditions

Steve, I am a intractacable chronic pain patient as well. Can you let me know some of your pain issues that keep you on an exemption list if you wouldn't mind. God bless.

Carmine, wow what happened. I thought you and Shelly were helping each other out? I feel so bad for you. These days it's like you can't get any relief with legitimate pain. Can I ask if Urgent care was helpful.

Concerned

Yeah I helped Shelly with a doctor and I got referred to this doctor in nj that had all my paperwork said he could help so I spent my last 350 to go to him which is two hrs a way he told me I have all the right documentside and the injuries that deserve pain maid but wanted to give me vicoden tens which is a joke for all my injuries so I had to go back to the Urgent Care which doesn't give me close to what I was on n won't raise me from 4 20s a day which is a joke I can't take it any more

Carmine... It's Shelly. I am at my wit's end! I'm in sheer agony! My Dr. lowered me to 4 OXY 10's now on my last visit and wants to do some injection in some joint near my ass. The med don't help not one bit I'm going absolutely insane! I'm so sorry to hear about your waste of time! Similar things happen to me, they let me come in for the consult, having all my paperwork in advance mind you just to tell me they can't help me when I get there? Well why did you tell me to come in then? INSURANCE FRAUD! Just billing my Medicare hundreds of dollars for a 3 minute visit that I wasted hours filling out paperwork to tell me I can't help you. They knew that before I even walked in! Just getting ins. payment. I'm going to call Medicare and report every one them! No more of my free insurance $$$ for wasting my time! NJ has become ridiculous! Governor Christie and his new 5 day supply limit! I bet you he doesn't have chronic agonizing pain! Have you found anywhere? I feel absolutely hopeless! I can't take much more of these PAINFUL INJECTIONS THAT DON'T EVEN WORK!
