Does MS Contin make you sleepier than Oxycontin
3 Replies RSS
I am taking 3 30 mgs of MSContin per day. It makes me sleepy and I need a nap about an hour after taking it. My Doctor is willing to switch me to OxyContin 30 mgs 3 30 mgs per day. Which medicine makes you sleepier? ## No one can say for sure if a certain med will make you sleepy. Morphine is more sedating, for most people, than OxyContin is. ## Hello, Candy! How are you? When I was on pain management for several years, Morphine always knocked me out, but I only experienced a little drowsiness with Oxycodone. However, as BL has stated, no one can say how any given medication will affect you. We are all different, so the only solution is to try it and see. The FDA warns that these medication carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry ...

Ms Contin Detox

iam takin 100mg ms contin for a year now and am sick of it what would help in detoxing. I dont want to take more drugs and i know the pains in the legs are coming because i detoxed of panadiene forte years ago i would just like some tips ## What type of leg pain did you have? What is just aching, or was it muscle cramping? I have done this exact detox, cold turkey, so I can try to warn you of what to expect and give a few tips. If it was leg cramping, it might be due to the fact that narcotics tend to sap the potassium in your body and a low-dose supplement can help with that. You should check with your doctor first, though, because high potassium levels can also be dangerous, so you shouldn't add a supplement, without their approval. If you can get your doctor to help, by prescribi...

I'm really concerned cuz sometimes I dont seem to absorb enough & other times it feels like it adsorbed all at once! Afraid of thst happening with the ms cr.... ## i had stomach surgery few years back and have been on ms contin er for about a year...it feels like i am not absorbing my medicine and feel as thou i am always fighting off withdrawl symptoms...i have mentioned this to y doctor but feel i am not being beleived...i am frus...

I have been takin 60mg ms contin extended release 3 times a day 30mg oxycodone immediate release 4 times a day recently my doctor changed the oxycodone to morphine 30mg immediate release he also added lyrica 75 mg an i also take baclofen 10mg & amytriptilyn 50mg in which i take 2 im still constant pain i was shot 8 yrs ago an i still hardly feel relief what will help me?? ## Hello, Shy! How are you? Oxycodone is one and a half times stronger than Morphine, so the dosages are not equivalent, which likely explains why you are in pain. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. As to the Lyrica, that may take 4 to 5 weeks, before it reaches its full level of ...

Pain Management Doctors in DELAWARE
20 Replies RSS
I just moved to delaware and am looking for a dr.that will continue my pain meds! I have done unhections n pt n found tht meds work beat for me. For people in TRUE NEED of pain meds it is very difficult to find help! And they wonder why people have to find them on the street?! I would never go that route bit i can understand ## HI Kimberly, Unfortunately, no one can really know ahead of time what a doctor is or is not willing to prescribe, as that is based on the doctor's discretion and not on someone else's previous appointment (especially since many doctor's are now worried about losing their licensing for prescribing too many narcotics). Some advice I can give you is to not specifically ask for any 'specific medication' when you see a new doctor. Just make sure to...

Looking for a pharmacy that carries ms contin made by Rhodes in klamath falls oregon ## I'm looking for a pharmacy that carries ms contin 30mg and 15mg made by Rhodes in Klamath falls oregon. I used to be able to get them at Savon. They claim they can no longer get that medicine. Pleaae let me know how to get this product. Thank you. Kelly ## Hello, Kelly! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem you're experiencing. Unfortunately, there is no database available that will let you know which pharmacy carries a medication made by any particular manufacturer. Even if someone tried to set up such a thing, the information would always be fluid and constantly changing, so it would be virtually impossible to keep it properly updated. The only thing you can really do is take your pr...

Pain meds and the government
2 Replies RSS
Has anyone with severe chronic pain been told by their pain management doctor's that they and everyone else has to come below 90 mg of ms contin a day because of the DEA? Well, my doctor is. In the past 4 month's, he's taken me down from a comfortable level to now in half until he gets me to 30 mg x3 a day. I've read a lot of these post's, yet I've not read anywhere about the government getting involved. Are we the only one's? Also, I've been to the best of the best doctor's, and they've all said there's nothing they can do for me. My spine is shot. A pain pump was recommended, but the risks outweighed the benefits, according to Stanford Pain Management. So, what am I supposed to to with this? Any help would be a great kindness. ## Hello, Tara...

Does anyone know the conversion dose when switching from MSContin 15mg to Opana. The MS no longer works to take the edge off the pain. I have had chronic pain after herniated cervical, lumbar disks, 4 surgeries, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue and daytime sleepiness, and osteo-arthritis. I also took 10mg. of morphine IR for breakthrough pain. Now I will take Opana IR. ## Your doctor or pharmacist should handle the conversion of the dosing for you. Has your doctor prescribed it already or made any recommendations? ## You said you have fybromialgia may I ask how long you have had that, I take MS Contin, nerontin, and a few others, but I have never heard of opana. does it work, I have FM and have had it for 3 years. ## I was on Opana before MS Contin and is was not as effective, very hard to ...
