There is no 30mg Percocet, so I assume you're talking about a regular release Oxycodone tablet, whereas Percocet would contain Acetaminophen and Oxycodone and is only available with a maximum of 10mgs of the Oxycodone.

As to a comparison, Oxycodone is actually one and half times stronger than Morphine, so it would take 45mgs of Morphine to equal 30mgs of the Oxcycodone, so you may not get as much pain relief, as you would from the Oxycodone.

It is a narcotic, so yes, it can be dangerous to take, just like all of them are and it may cause side effects, such as: nausea, dizziness, constipation and diarrhea.

Yes, the tablet with the E 653 marking is a time released formulation of Morphine.

There are actually 3 different formulations of medications that can be available.

The first is the regular release formulation, this means that, after swallowing the tablet, it will take about 15 to 20 minutes to start being broken down by your stomach acid and for the medication to be released into your blood stream. However, once released, all of it is released at once.

The second would be a time released formulation, this means that after taking it, can still take the same amount of time to start working, but it doesn't release all of the medication at once. Instead, it is slowly released over time, for these tablets, which are a generic for MS Contin, it takes 12 hours for the full dose to be released in your body.

The third is an instant release formulation, which is exactly what it sounds like. They are tablets or capsules that are designed to dissolve immediately, so the medication enters your body and starts to work much faster.

First, it's obvious that you have not spoken with a physician and you need to speak to someone, besides all of us if the pain is severe enough to borrow another friends medications. I am a Pre-Med student who struggles with MS & Paralysis (along with IIH, and a few others). I am also a cancer survivor! Now to your question MS ER (extended-release) is very different from Percocet or Vicodin. Here is an equianalgesic chart that shows you the comparison of each medication to Morphine, I hope this helps. And just note your medication may change color, it's always dependent upon whom your pharmacy purchased the medication from that month, so always check with your pharmacy if your unsure!

I have stupid question first off I have cancer and it's stage 4 and the pain is unbearable but I've reached the point of if I do not have any oxy not only is the pain unbearable but I feel sick hot then cold then sweaty so I'm
assuming that means withdrawal if someone could please tell me and if a Norco 10 is actually 1000mg does that mean I'm take 3000mg of oxy when I take a 30mg oxy and when I'm out of oxy I can take a morphine in between and it eases my pain but also completely takes away the sick feeling because when I have nothing I am usually sleeping in the bathtub because that is the only relief I get from the pain please help me understand all of this
Oxyfused!!

Re: Oxyfused (# 13)

No, 10 mg. is exactly that, ten. Same for the 30 mg, it's just thirty. I hope you get some relief from your pain. When it's that severe the doctors should be doing all they can for you. So many who have abused these drugs have made it a living hell for the ones who truly need it. There should be no question to RX when you have MRI,'s and other reports proving that what you have is causing you severe pain. I saw someone was asking about some medication and all they had was a sprained foot. I had a broken foot before and never took anything stronger than a Tylenol.
