Opana Overview

Oxymorphone, sold under the brand names Numorphan among others, is a powerful semi-synthetic opioid analgesic (painkiller) developed in Germany in 1914. Pain relief after injection begins after about 5–10 minutes and 15–30 minutes after rectal administration, and lasts about 3–4 hours for immediate-release tablets and 12 hours for extended-release tablets.[2] It is highly addictive and in June 2017 the FDA asked the manufacturer to remove its product from the US market.[4] T...

Opana or Oxymorphone 10 mg immediate release use and dangers
7 Replies RSS Share
I am prescribed 6 Opana 10 mg immediate release, and I have come a long way considering they ran me as a guinea pig and had me on it all - from Fentanyl patch 100 (yes that's right 100 mcg), and the breakthrough med was dilaudid 4 mg and the 8 mg, as well as having been on OxyContin (the op kind / not the old ones). That was in my experimental days. I was on the 60's of those which didn't help even with the breakthrough pain. I lost a lot of good friends from the old ones. They overdosed and died. The new version never touched my pain either. I was on 15, to 20, to 30 mg. Also Lortab and Percocet (the 10's). None helped my pain. All you think is about is the pain and just wanting a normal life. And not having to depend on damn pills ever again. To be able to have babies ...

I live in Sonoma county and if any one knows a pharmacy that dispenses Percoset I would appreciate hearing from you. opana 40mg er vs oxycontin 80mg
12 Replies RSS Share
I'm switching to 3 40mgs a day of Opana ER and hoping it does better than 80mg of OxyContin twice a day. Any advice or info please ## Hello, Timps! How are you? Opana is actually twice as strong as Oxycontin, so you'd only need 80mgs of it daily to equal the 160mgs of Oxycontin that you were taking, thus, taking 120mgs a day will actually be a stronger dose and may provide better pain relief. The FDA classifies these medications as being narcotic analgesics, so they carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I went from OxyContin to opana as well and great as I thought OxyContin were, opana surprisingly not only lowered my pain level but kept me even...

Opana - Is it really Non-Addictive?
20 Replies RSS Share
If Opana was designed to be non-addictive, how did my granddaughter become addicted to it; or did she? She is now in jail and says this is the drug she has been taking and paying $40.00 a pill for. ## Opana contains the active ingredient Oxymorphone and I'm not aware of anything stating it was designed to be non-addictive, the possibility of being habit forming and abused is actually prominently warned about it the drug information monographs about it. It is an opiate narcotic, therefore, it carries the same addictive risk as all the others do, such as Oxycodone and Morphine. More details: Are there any other questions? ## OPANA IS ADDICTIVE IT IS HYDROMORPHONE. IT HAS THE SAME THING IN IT AS DILAUDID IT'S NOT EXCATLY THE SAME BUT CLOSE THEY BOTH HAVE HYDROMORPHONE IN THEM CALL ...

Opana IR 10mg..new to it. "itching badly"
4 Replies RSS Share
My doctor just switched me to Opana IR 10 mg. I was taking Lortab 10/500, but staying misusing then because I built up a tolerance. Well these Opana's are amazing. I have never been so pain free in the twenty years suffering with chronic pain. Not to mention how awesome they make me feel in general. Bad part is the itching...keeps me awake and is unbearable. I wondered if there is something over the counter I can take to make this itching go away whereas I love Opana and definitely don't want to give them up. There is a high possibility my doctor might switch me again and I do not want that since these work so well. Help!! ## Hi, BeeBee! Sorry about the itching! Some narcotics can cause that as a side effect in some people that take them and, if that's what it is, then it sh...

Have had three back surgeries and surgeon won't prescribe anymore and I'm in tremendous pain. SSI keeps denying for last 3 years so I have no insurance. Need a affordable Dr asap please if anyone can help. Thank you ## Hello, Janie! How are you? Yes, unfortunately due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, your surgeon can only prescribe for a limited period of time. If you require such medications on a long-term ongoing basis, you'll need to see a pain management specialist….the problem here is that they are going to be reluctant to prescribe you anything and, if they do, pharmacies won't want to fill it, since you don't have insurance. Cash payment makes it easier for someone to doctor and pharmacy hop. Do you currently have a PCP that you s...

Has anyone taking opana er during pregnancy? I have been on them and do not want to stop because i will withdraw. I just want to know if anyone has had a healthy pregnancy while taking them? ## Opana contains the active ingredient Oxymorphone and its safety during pregnancy has not been established. Have you consulted your doctor? In most cases, when a woman is pregnant, the preferred medication to use for severe pain, or addiction, is Methadone, since it has been found to be safe. Learn more: ## Ok, first of all not everything that has been said by you guys is true. I've suffered from chronic pain for the pasr 12 years and have 4 beautiful ,healthy children. I was on Opana throughout almost all of my 4th pregnancy. By choice, I VERY SLOWLY and with the help of my doctor weaned myse...

pain clinics that treat out of state patients
43 Replies RSS Share
Does anyone know of pain clinics that take out of state patients? Also looking to get put on opanas, or something like that. Been on loratab 1000's for 15 years and they don't do the job anymore. I realy hope someone out there knows someplace in GA or TN. Hope to hear from you soon and thanks. ## First off, there are no Lortab tablets that contain 1,000mgs of anything. And next is a question, why aren't you looking in your home state? Even if you do find a doctor that will treat you, when you're from out of state, most pharmacies will not fill your prescription under such circumstances. ## I am looking for a pain management dr in the Saginaw area who takes out of state claims from New Jersey, I' m thinking about relocating from Delaware. I got hurt in 93 and have bn ...
