Opana Overview

Oxymorphone, sold under the brand names Numorphan and Opana among others, is an opioid pain medication. Pain relief after injection begins after about 5–10 minutes, after oral administration it begins after about 30 minutes, and lasts about 3–4 hours for immediate-release tablets and 12 hours for extended-release tablets.[4] The elimination half-life of oxymorphone is much faster intravenously, and as such, the drug is most commonly used orally.[5] ...

opana or fentanyl confused about dosing

Hello. I have been on 25 mcg of fetanyl patch every 48 hours for 9 months and 15mgs of oxycodone 4 times daily for breakthrough pain. I am thinking about getting off of the patch. How much Opana or (Oxymorphone) would be the equivalent of 25mcg of the fentanyl patch? How much Opana or (Oxymorphone ER) would be the best dose to switch to with no withdrawals? ## Hello Gia! How are you? Is the patch helping? Why do you wish to stop using it? You need about 2.8mgs of Oxymorphone to be equivalent to each 25mcg Fentanyl patch, but there are going to be differences in the time release duration, and dosing frequency. On your doctor can help you decide if your doing so would be safe for you, and the best way to do so. The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming, an...

I'm clueless because i haven't found ANY RESULTS. ## Based on your description, the closest match I could find is a small round light pink pill imprinted with "E" on one side and "5" on the other. Opana is indicated for the relief of moderate to severe pain and also as a preoperative medication to alleviate apprehension, maintain anesthesia, and as an obstetric analgesic. pain clinics that treat out of state patients

Does anyone know of pain clinics that take out of state patients? Also looking to get put on opanas, or something like that. Been on loratab 1000's for 15 years and they don't do the job anymore. I realy hope someone out there knows someplace in GA or TN. Hope to hear from you soon and thanks. ## First off, there are no Lortab tablets that contain 1,000mgs of anything. And next is a question, why aren't you looking in your home state? Even if you do find a doctor that will treat you, when you're from out of state, most pharmacies will not fill your prescription under such circumstances. ## I am looking for a pain management dr in the Saginaw area who takes out of state claims from New Jersey, I' m thinking about relocating from Delaware. Generic Opana-People Speak up

They are saying that the new opana works as well as the old. There are so many peoples statements that I have read saying the new don't work as well but yet Endo states their research don't prove that. All people who have a real medical problem that causes pain and takes new opana and it doesn' work as well as the old needs to speak up. One person can't change anything. People who are being treated awful by medical doctors and pain clinics because they have pain also need to speak up. ## Read what Endo states what they think will happen with Opana in 2013-14. *double-digit prescription growth in products like Voltaren Gel and the reformulated OPANA ER which will drive growth in our branded pharmaceutical businesses. Opana not working

I take Opana 20mg three times a day for chronic pain, along with Roxicodone 15mg 4X's a day. I was wondering if anyone out there had noticed that the Opana's don't do anything as much as the Roxis/Oxycodone do? I also just use them as perscribed and am only in my 20's and have had over 35 surgeries. I go see my pain management physician in a couple of days and want to know if anyone out there has tried something similar to what I'm not and what they might have been switched to to get better relief of pain. Thank you for any advice. ## Everyone is different, so it could be that the Oxycodone works better for you, than the Opana. Given how many surgeries you've had, you may also have a very high tolerance to pain medications. The FDA warns that these medications ca...

Opana 5mg IR vs ER - Which is better?

I injured my back & neck in 1998 & 2001. I have herniated dics L4-L5, & L5-S-1 and Bone Spurs in my Neck. I started out with a Worker’s Compensation Doctor. However they started to deny more & more treatment as time went by. In the Fall of 2014 they denied my Pain Medications. At that point I went to Kaiser Permanente Medicare, if they would treat me for by painful back injury & they said they would, I continued with Opana & Topamax. However, they do not put you “under” for Epidural shots” so I only had a few. They are just too PAINFUL! A local sedative just doesn’t do it for me. I’ve been on Opana 5mg. 5 times a day, for many years. Last year my Primary Care Doctor at Kaiser asked me to reduce it to 4 times a day, Yikes! I...

Oxymorphone 5mg

What do they look like and whats the difference between them and opana 5mg? ## The only difference is that Opana is the brand name for it and Oxymorphone is the active ingredient, thus the generic name. There are several generics on the market and they will all have different markings, according to federal law, to enable their identification, in case of emergency. Some of the descriptions and markings of 5mg tablets include: E794 5, blue, round 54 596, white, round E612 5, blue round And this is not a comprehensive list, just a few examples. If you have a tablet that you are questioning and it doesn't match any of those, please post back with the markings from it and I will gladly check for you. Are there any questions or comments? ## What milligram is a moon on one side and 228 and...
