What is the current total number of brand name drugs and generic drugs on the FDA's approved list? ## I'm sorry, but I do not have any information on what the total number is, due to the fact that it is actually very dynamic. It can change, at any given time, as new medications are approved, old ones are discontinued and new generics become available. Are there any other questions or comments? ## I understand that the list changes frequently. I would like to know the approximate number of drugs on the list. ## Working in pharmacy,we call these the top 200. They are listed by most popular.I hope this helps. ## Bruce, you can research the top 200, as Donna suggested. That list shows the most commonly prescribed. However, as I said, there is no real total, or approximation to give ...

Will this pill also reduce swelling from cold sores/fever blisters? ## Hello, Maria! How are you? No, this is an antibiotic that is used to treat or prevent bacterial infections, so it will have no effect on the virus that causes cold sores. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?

Please kindly post the Schedule K Drugs list, as per pharmacy Act 1948. ## I want to know the list of the products which comes under schedule K category. ## list of Schedule K drugs in India. ## i want list of schedule k drugs ## Unfortunately I'm not finding any specific details on lists of Schedule K drugs in India. It may be that this country (as well as many others) do not publicly post such information online. From what I understand, the U.S. is one of the few countries that regulate and control drugs in such a distinguished manner (through the FDA). The Pharmacy Act of 1948 does not appear to list any medications either. This Act only has to do with the registration of pharmacists, education regulations, inspection, renewal fees, and other things of that nature. Does anyone el...

HOW CAN I GET OF ALL SCHEDULE WISE LIST ALL INDIAN DRUGS? ## You may have better luck asking your local doctor or pharmacist for more information regarding this; simply because other countries outside of the U.S do not regulate their prescription drugs as strictly as the FDA does, so international drug information is very difficult to locate online. The information you are looking for is difficult to locate even here in the states, and I'm not sure why that is, but they obviously don't want the public to have easy access to it or it would be the first thing to come up under a google search. The most recent information I can find regarding "New Drugs Approved for Marketing in India" dates back from 1999 to 2005: Not sure if this is the type of information you were looking...

My husband asked his dr for a medicine to help him stop getting fever blisters everytime he was in the sun for long periods of time, he gave him a prescription for cyclobenzapr, read about it and it days its a muscle relaxer, will it even help with fever blisters and can he take it while on suboxone? ## Hello, KC! How are you and your husband? No, fever blisters are caused by a herpes simplex virus, exposure to the sun tends to wake it up and cause a flare, so this medication will not do anything to prevent them, because as you said, it is a muscle relaxant. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth. It can be taken with the Suboxone, though it will increase the sedation and drowsiness, so this should be done with caution. The...

I was dropped from consultants in pain management due to my blood pressure being high twice within 10 days. I now am on new medication, 40 mg Lisinopril and my blood pressure is back to normal. This means, that I am in search of a new specialist. I am 63 years of age and still working after numerous surgeries from injuries that are all documented. I am leaving for Baltimore Maryland in a week but will need to have a prescription with me in order to perform my duties. Can anyone suggest a provider for me? Thank you in advance. ## That is very odd, that's not a normal reason for them to dismiss someone, usually they give you a chance to see your primary care physician, or a cardiologist to get it under control. How high was it? Can you post back with some of the readings? The FDA list...

I am allergic to sulfa drugs. Having a hard time finding the right blood pressure medicine. Can you please help me find blood pressure meds that don't contain sulfa ## Hello, Sherrie! How are you? What specific sulfa drug or drugs have you had a reaction to? While many blood pressure medications are related, not everyone that is allergic to a sulfa drug, such as Bactrim, is also allergic to all the rest. I am a good example of that. I had a very bad reaction to Bactrim several years ago, but I am fine with blood pressure and cardiac medications. What blood pressure medications have you tried? The FDA lists the symptoms of an allergic reaction as possibly including swelling, trouble breathing, hives, itchy rash and angioedema. ## Diovan hct, zebeta, hyzaar, bystolic, cardizem, I can ...

looking for a full list of pain medications ## I'm not sure how complete this list may be, but posted below are quite a few prescription pain medications I came across (as of 2012). Some of these drugs could've been discontinued or repackaged under different brand names since then: 1. Codeine: Tylenol 3, Fioricet with codeine, hundreds of codeine-containing cough syrups 2. Hydrocodone: Vicodin, Vicoprofen, Lortab, Lorcet, Norco, Polytussin, Tussionex, TussiCaps, Hycodan, Endal HD (FDA recently pulled many of the HC-containing cough syrups off the market) 3. Oxycodone: Percocet, Percodan, Oxycontin, Tylox, Endocet, Roxicodone 4. Hydromorphone: Dilaudid, Dilaudid-HP (high potency), Palladone, Hydromorph-contin, Dilaudid Cough Syrup 5. pink and yellow oval shaped pill ## Are there any markings on the pill in question? I'm sorry, but since many antibiotics are available as brand names, and generics, it is impossible for anyone to list all of them for you. Can you please post back with more details? This is a corticosteroid that is available in 30 countries. Has it been approved by the FDA yet for use in the US? ## Can you plz send me the list of manufacturers that produce Deflazecort for validation purposes on lab scale? ## Sorry, there is nothing listed under this name in the US databases, so I cannot help you. Most brand names differ from country to country, so it would not be listed under the same name in the US. If you can tell me the name of the active ingredient, I can check it out for you that way. ## Hello, thanks for responding. Yes I am talking about the active ingredient only, Deflazacort, because the brand name varies from company to company.

Walgreens switched my Watson Percocet 10/325 to Alvogen. WHAT a stomach ache!! They are counterproductive! And doesn't help relieve pain at all! And I can't sleep with this stomach ache. What is in the binder , Cement?? And my stomach has always been sensitive to the Advil. seems this pharmaceutical company has no interest but money! I'm filling a complaint with the FDA! ## What are the markings on the tablets that are causing your problems? Sometimes the manufacturer listed on the label is just a licensed distributor and not the actual manufacturer. Can you please post back and clarify, so I can research this for you? The FDA warns that Percocet carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mo...

( ## Hello, Gary! How are you doing? I'm very sorry that you're in pain. If you require such a medication on a long-term ongoing basis, due to the new directives that were set forth by the DEA last year, you'll need to see a pain management specialist. A general practitioner won't prescribe it for you. The FDA lists this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth a...

How do I report the side effects I experienced from lyrica to the FDA online? I seem to remember from my first encounter with this site, it produced a notice that you could report right on this site. Otherwise, google Lyrica online, or maybe FDA? ## Hello, Kitty! How are you? You can contact the FDA to report your experience by calling the FDA at 888-463-6332. What issues did you experience? They list the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, irritability, mood swings and weight gain. ## Started on 75mg lyrica twice daily. My wife's present BP has shown an abnormally high reading of 230/90, despite the fact that she is taking Telista 20 for the last number of years, i.e. about 5 years! She is 78 years old. Should she continue with this medication or change to some other salt? ## Hello, Kanwal! How are you and your wife doing? Is she on any other medications? Does she eat a lot of salty and fatty foods? As reported by the NIH, such factors can contribute to elevated blood pressure, in some people. Otherwise, if they are no other factors causing it, yes, she may need to consult her doctor to switch to a different medication, or to raise the dosage of this one. The U.S. FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension.

They all have various possible risks and benefits, so only your doctor can help you decide which one is safe for you to try. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, nervousness, insomnia, anorexia and hypertension. Is there anything else I can help with?

OMG! Could this be a breakthrough? At what stage will it be most effective. First detected adults or long term suffers from smoking? Has it been tested on animals or is it ready to go on humans? WOW! Thank you scientists ! ## Yes, it has been approved and is currently in use. It's used to treat inoperable cancers that no longer respond to other drugs, so it's mainly for late stage people. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, back pain, dry skin, dry hair and hair loss. Is there anything else I can help with?

why can't anyone receive donnotal or bella Alk we need these generics for low income people. i asked my pharmacist and they said it is no longer available in generics. and that is costs 500.00 dollars. ## HI, Nanny! I'm very sorry about the problem you've run into. Some medications were never actually tested and approved by the FDA, they were just grandfathered in, since they were considered safe and had been on the market for so long. However, the FDA is now insisting that they all undergo testing for approval, just as is done with all other medications and this has resulted in many companies that manufacture such generics having to remove their products from the market, because it isn't financially feasible for them to do the testing and undergo the approval process.
