black and yellow capsule ## Macrodantin (Nitrofur Mac 50 mg)50 mg was prescribed by my urologist. My last presription given by the pharmacy was red and white. This pill is yellow and black with Watson 3250 inscribed on it. Was I dispensed the wrong dosage by the pharmacy this time? ## Yes, you did receive a different dosage, the one marked Watson 3250 is a 100mg capsule, not 50mg. If you are supposed to be on 50mgs, then you need to take that prescription back to your pharmacy and inform them of the error so they can provide you with the correct dosage.

I have a infected gum area due to having a tooth pulled can i take septra ds for this ## I also have an infection from a tooth pulled can I take septrads ## It is best not to try to diagnose and self treat, you should speak to your dentist and he will be able to prescribe the best antibiotic to treat your problem. Some antibiotics work better than others for certain conditions and due to drug resistance, you shouldn't try to diagnose and take something you have left over from a different condition.

White oval tablet ## Markings on this pill are from azithromycin, typically a 250mg tablet. It is commonly considered the world's best selling anti-biotic. Prescription uses include the treatment of any bacterial infection; inner ear infection, pneumonia, throat infections, etc, as well as some STD's. You can google the drug or look it up over at wikipedia - they have a great article about it. Hope this helps.

I've noticed that the pill has a disgusting odor, is that common? ## that is normal, when I took it it smelled horable but still talk to your doctor about it. ## Thanks Kristen, Yes, I did ask my doctor, he was somewhat non-commital. Good to know from another user that it does have a bad odor....well, that means it should be expected. Thanks for answering. John ## your very welcome, thanks for taking my advice. ## There are many, many pills that have a nasty odor, try tasting them sometimes. LOL! ## Thanks Verwon, That's true. This is the worst I have encountered so far. Hopefully I won't find the others. ## The worst I have found so far have been my narcotics, every time I open the bottle my cat has to sniff it and once he tried to bury the bottle in my bed! LOL! They are a...

I have been on this antibiotic for four days, and weht to the lake for two. I feel like I'm on fire and I'm getting a knot on my forhead,so what are the side effects of the sun and caffine. I'm a little worried. ## When reading on this RX when I first started taking it I didn't find anything that had to do with caffine but I did find something on sun. Try to keep out of the sun while using this medication. Wear concealing clothing when outdoors and use sunscreen. (Don't use tanning beds) ## The sun warning is there because these types of meds can make you sun sensitive, meaning you might burn much faster than you usually would during sun exposure, you can also overheat and dehydrate faster, so you should always use extra sun protection while taking these, and for app...

antibiotic ## This is a brand name for Cefazolin, a cephalosporin class antibiotic. Cefazolin Click Here ## My mother was prescribed this medication for a sinus infection. Although the directions say to take with OR without food, my advice is to take with food because this medication can be rough on the gastrointestinal(G.I.) tract, as evidenced by a side effect of diarrhea. May also dry you out, so drink a good amount of water, which is a good idea anyway, especially when your body is fighting off an infection. ## Most antibiotics will cause diarrhea when they start to take effect in your body, that is a perfectly normal effect. As to taking it with food, the reason they tell you not to is because certain food can affect how well the medication works for you and how much of it your bod...

I have started having pain & am sure it is a UTI. I have these Dicloxacill 250mg & was wondering if this will cure my problem. ## Self-diagnosing is never a good idea, especially with a urinary infection, first of all their are antibiotics targeted to treat it much faster and while it could very well be exactly what you suspect, there is always the chance that it isn't, it could be a vaginal infection, bowel, kidney or one of a number of other things, so your best bet would be to see your doctor and follow their advice after diagnosis. My sister frequently had urinary infections requiring treatment, then the last time, she was absolutely certain from the symptoms that it was another one, but her fiance took her to the emergency room anyway, turns out she had no infection at ...

I read about the side effects of Amoxillin and now I am scared that they are going to happen. I've taken the drug since I was a baby, so should I still be scared? ## If you've taken it before then no. If you didn't have a alergic reaction before why should you have one now? no reason to worry! ## thank you sooooo much! ## Your body can change over the years, so there is always the chance of a reaction from a drug that arises suddenly and unexpectedly, no matter how many times you have taken it before. Also, by using the same drug so many times, you reduce the effectiveness of how well it works for you and you risk developing an illness that is resistant to it. You should speak to your Doctor about using different antibiotics in the future, and speak to you pharmacist about y...

I have found from past use of antibiotics that my digestion suffers. I have used probiotics to help with the problem and am wondering if and how you recomend taking probiotics with Amoxil. ## your not really supposed to take other things with the drug.talk to your doctor about your digestion problems ## Now a post from back in February. You really are into the antibiotic posts. Yes, some things you take can effect how well a drug works for you, so you shouldn't take anything, even over the counter items, without consulting your doctor or pharmacist.

Can you drink alcohol while taking this medication? ## I'm not that sure, but I wouldn't take the chance. talk to your doctor ## Since alcohol is a blood thinner, it will effect how fast the drug moves through and then out of your body, making it so you might not receive the correct dosage, for instance, if you are supposed to take 2 a day, but you drink alcohol, you could end up with a med that lasts only 9 or 10 hours, instead of the 12 it should, which could affect how the drug works for you. This can also vary depending on how much alcohol you drink and your own metabolism, so it is always better to stay away from it when you are on a prescription medication.

My almost 10 month old was on amoxicillin for 6 days and began to develop an allergic reaction - bad diarrhea and a red rash on her cheeks; I stopped giving it to her-her last dose was 2 days ago and she still has the diarrhea and rash-how long before it goes away? My doctor prescribed her a different antibiotic but we have not started it yet, I'm almost afraid to. ## talk to your doctor about it and really talk about, make him explain the new drug to you before you use it. ## Yes, definitely speak to your doctor, he should make sure from now on to prescribe a totally different class of antibiotic to prevent that from happening to your daughter again. If you aren't sure, ask the pharmacist when you go in to get the scrip filled. Tell then she is allergic to it, then if your doc ...

Can I crush my non-chewable amoxicillin pills and put them in orange juice? Do you know if it will be as effective? I hate swallowing pills. ## Well if pills are not extended release than maybe crushing wont make any differnce. Because it would dissolve. I think a doctor should know this one. ## Actually you can do this with a pill if you wish, as long as it isn't a time released, delayed, or extended release version. However, be careful what juice you take it with, as grapefruit juice can affect the efficacy of some meds. However, as I said, you can take regular pills any way you wish, as long as they aren't a controlled release version, some people have trouble swallowing pills and hospitals and personal care homes routinely crush them for people who need to do that. ## On a f...

I recently took amoxillian for a sinus infection---this was not strong enough to cure. My doctore prescribe me Augmentin---within 20 minutes I was dizzy, weak & vomiting. This went on for 2 hours plus----until I passed out & no longer had anything left in my stomach. I have strained my neck, broke blood vessels in my eye and feel like I was ran over. Can you tell me if this product has any sulfur or condiene in it. I am highly allergic to both of these drugs. Thanks for any info you can give. SF ## Augmentin contains the active ingredients Amoxicillin + Clavulanic Acid. Not sure if there is sulfur in there, definitely no codeine though. ## stop taking that stuff! unless your sinus infection is worse than the side effects but, I'd say the side effects are much more worse than...
