It is best not to try to diagnose and self treat, you should speak to your dentist and he will be able to prescribe the best antibiotic to treat your problem. Some antibiotics work better than others for certain conditions and due to drug resistance, you shouldn't try to diagnose and take something you have left over from a different condition.
