Brittany,
Stay as far away from zubsolvs as u can if your on Suboxone. Or new and trying to get clean. Out of the literally hundreds of people I've talked to through my meetings, life, etc I'd say maybe 10% of people had a good experience. I did notice most of them were tabbers as I call them. People who take 10-20 tabs a day and now are on buprenorphine. But that's a whole nother thing!! If your on 20 tabs a day there is no way you should be on 3 8mg Subs a day... (Random but when I think about it it bothers me because 3 subs is WAY stronger than the 200mg of loritabs peop were taking.) sorry just a rant!

Did you try it? I've got good and bad as you say. I've never tried the zubsolv. I learned from this thread not to go from suboxone. Seems ok for those that start out on it. I take one -quarter to one -half a day sometimes I will take a whole. Doctor says I'm sober. In an earlier post I explained this makes me feel as tho I'm cheating. On the other hand, I'm not out hunting drugs and money all day. So for me there is the catch 22. Call me weak but I've been at clinic for two years. My advice try to be tapered in at least three to six months. Try not to get stuck. I've read plenty of comments where folks are very happy with this. Me I'm in the middle. I'm very glad I don't even go around anyone I used to, or do the lying things I used to. It is better for me in these ways by 100% but I go to clinic every month. I look at it like well there are people going to the doctor for other chronic ailments. Is drug addiction the same, well if your behavior allows you to lead a normal life and gives you back those that had lost trust in you, aren't you better under treatment? I can only answer yes. I'm actually proud of people w
ho manage to cold turkey and make it. I hope I am that person one day. I hope one day never to take nothing stronger than vitamins.

Shelly,
Yes I was on Zub for a few months and it was HELL. And someone like you who takes a 1/4 how are u going to split up a tiny pill into exact quarters? They are a hell of a lot weaker. I felt W/D symptoms within 3 days of me going on Zub.. Thank god now back to Suboxone. I'm a SEVERE chronic pain sufferer and after all the years of legal oxys, opana's, fentanyl, roxys, then dope it's a hell of a lot better than all that BS!!

It was hell? Apparently you have no idea what hell is. I was on suboxone for 7 years. I have been on zubs for 6 months now. I would personally take zubs over subs. There's something about them that hits you harder in my opinion, and in most others peoples opinions have talked too also. I know they have the same exact two active ingredients: naloxone and bupe. Alot of people say zubs are better because of the taste and how fast they dissolve comated to subs, but that is not why I prefer them. I like how they make me feel. Why don't you look at other comments about people comparing the two..it's a really popular opinion that zubs get you pretty faded. The menthol seems to make it so that the bupe is absorbed quicker and or more efficiently. I think your opinion was formed on zubs based upon you thinking a certain way in your head prior to even giving them a chance. How could you put 5.7 mg or more of bupe in your system and still be going through withdrawals? Bupe is bupe no matter what name brand you slap on it..and that statement you made in my opinion makes your review Unreliable. Your slighted towards the name brand of suboxone, anyone with half of a brain in there heads can see that from a mile away. Haha.

JAMES: gotta love a guy who presents his opinion as if it was GOSPEL. ugh. and as far as "how can someone put 5.7mgs of bupe in their system and still be in withdrawal?" have you ever heard of "tolerance"? have you ever heard the term "everyone's system is different"? i mean, seriously?? ive taken 24 mgs of bupe and still been in w/d because i had a HUGE opiate tolerance. sheesh, thats not even that hard to figure out. so, we are all supposed to get the exact same reaction from the exact same dose of bupe? hmmmm...you just seem arrogant, rude and to be honest, ignorant. but hey, just my opinion.

i was on subs in the near past and since december 10th of last year ive been going to a methadone/zubsolv clinic. i am taking two 5.7 zubsolv pills, this stuff in my opinion is no way as strong as suboxone. so i definetly agree with you, which is why im back on waiting list for sub doctor.zubsolv in my opinion isnt even close!

"pretty faded"? Wow....thanks for giving us addicts who are trying REALLY HARD to remain sober a bad name. You are the reason an addict is always looked at with suspicion when on Opiate Replacement Therapy. You are an addict just looking for a legal high. Get some help. ugh....judging someone while still a "high-seeking", actively using addict. Sad.

Can I break it in half and use it as a detox for opiates?

Darla: Are you asking if you can break a buprenorphine pill in half? Of course. (Buprenorphine being the active ingredient in subutex/suboxone/zubsolv) now im assuming you have more than one..... Can u give me a few more details about this "opiate detox" you are planning? What kind of opiates are you using, how long, how many? And how many of the suboxone/zubsolvs do you have? Are u under a doctors care with these? I have been an opiate addict for 30 years, have been on subutex and methadone.... So i could help you but i need a few more details.

I just want to talk to someone about my experience since I feel my fiancé doesn't and can't relate to me. I've been on sub for going on 4 years. I have a love/hate relationship with it. I am on it without the direction of a doctor and I think that's my main problem with it. I am currently on Zubsolv at this moment which is probably more of a reason I'm writing this. Out of a strip, I'll take anywhere between 1/4 to 1/2 a day and right now for 11 days I only have FOUR (now 2.5) zubs so I'm trying to maintain. They "say" it's equivalent to sub or even "more bioavavailablility" but I disagree. Yes, it tastes better and dissolves quicker but less isn't more. I'll run out, I'm sure of it. And even taking the equivalent, my body isn't reacting the same. I feel withdrawal. I feel as if my skin is crawling. I feel irritable. Quick tempered. Teary eyed with a runny nose. It came on slow but I noticed. I have an 8 month old and my patience isn't the same. I love her so I control my temper but inside I want to scream. My fiancé is on Vicodin for a motorcycle accident that nearly killed him two months ago and so badly do I wanna pick up that bottle and swallow 20 of them to feel better (I'm exaggerating of course!) but I want my suboxone so bad. I can't wait for this to be handled. Also, bupe isn't a drug to f*** around with. It hooks you like bait and holds you. It's great for not using but terrible for my "sober living". F*** zubs

Yep, it hooks you, holds on and doesn't let go. Just like opiates.

You are 100% right. If you're having any of those symptoms your body does not have enough buprenorphine. You can ween off at about an 1/8th of a milligram a day max. And when that is over you will have major anxiety for about a week or 2. I was taking subutex for chronic pain but the DEA, FDA has come down on my doctor and switched everyone to suboxone, which I have been on before. The DEA sights abscesses from administering subutex intravenously. I imagine everyone on this forum knows. You need to talk to your wife about how you feel. I hate to recommend suboxone or zubsolv for her pain management because nalaxone is horrible for you, but the euphoric opiates are all down hill. The government forcing nalaxone in our bodies is ridiculous. I took opiates for 13 years. Tramadol (Ultram), valium, and zyprexa also clonidine if necessary for blood pressure. For opiates this takes 4 days, buprenorphine 8-12 so maybe do these steps every 2 days instead of 1. You must wake up at night and follow this regimen. Throughout this detox 1-2, 10 mg Valium every 4 hours for the first 3 days then only one until your done. Zyprexa every 12 hours for 4 days.Tramadol 50mg is the main ingredient, but the others are necessary to relax and sleep through this hell. These steps are every 24hrs for opiates, for buprenorphine I would recommend these steps every 36-48 hrs. Wake up at night and take the meds to stay on schedule. (Take the Valium and Zyprexa as stated) First 24-48, 1 Tramadol every 4 hours, next segment every 8 hours, next segment every 12hrs., and finally at 24 hrs. This is a 4 day opiate detox but I would go 8 for buprenorphine. If you can get Naltraxone take one 16-24 hrs. after your last Tramadol. Don't be scared if you didn't cheat. I have a lot more on this topic and all these meds but I'm no writer. Anti-nalaxone, pro Daily Buprenorphine pain management. Get rid of zubsolv and suboxone, NALOXONE is 100% unnecessary. You can take opiates 4 hours after its use, without it you should just wait till tomorrow.

INHUMANE: I have been an opiate addict for 30+ years. I have dealt with methadone, subutex and suboxone.

You are recommending an opiate for an opiate detox, you realize that, right? Dont you think that is a bit counterproductive? So after they stop taking the tramadol, THEN what detox plan do you have? A person isnt going to get through an opiate detox in 4 days, nor in 8 days, if they are taking opiates THE WHOLE TIME!! Even if it IS tapered. That's all just too fast. I cant even believe what im reading here....

This is like stopping your vodka habit by drinking gin instead! it makes no sense whatsoever. I'm with you on the zyprexa, the benzos and the clonidine, but in all seriousness tho, dont you think the person would just be better off slowly weaning off of the buprenorphine instead of substituting an opioid for an opioid?

Currently im dosing at 180mgs at methadone clinic daily, being on methadone....so much ....makes me unable to function and im sick 12hrs after dosing(for the last5yrs). Anyone know of an opiode or something i can do instead, not suboxen or bupren, Cuz you cant be over 30 mgs methadone.

BRAD: my addiction specialist says i may need to be on some sort of ORT (opiate replacement therapy) for the rest of my life. its just a fact i need to accept. he says to look at it like someone who is a diabetic, and will need insulin for the rest of their life in order to stay healthy. he says since i have been an opiate addict for so long, i most likely would struggle greatly if i tried to stop ORT completely. and i know that is true. the last time i was on NOTHING was about 14 years ago. i went through a horrible detox, and was at a recovery house for about 45 days (it was a 90 day program) i was miserable the whole time, and i NEVER felt right. the PAWS (post acute withdrawal syndrome) was just awful. as a part of this recovery house, i was expected to participate in meetings, outings, chores, etc, but all i wanted to do was go to bed! after 45 days i couldnt take it anymore and i ended up using. i am currently on 90mgs of tablet methadone, 9 pills a day at 10mgs each. so in a week or two, i am going to attempt to go down to 85mgs, breaking one of the tablets in half. i am on amino acid therapy, as well as taking huge doses of ascorbic acid (vitamin C powder) and many high quality supplements, all under the care of a therapist/nutritionist. so all of that should help with withdrawal symptoms. and i have promethazine, clonidine and somas to take as needed. BUT....if after a couple weeks, i am just NOT adjusting to the new dose, i know that i may need to go back up to the 90mgs. i am not doing this with the goal of coming off of the methadone completely, just seeing if i can take a smaller dose successfully. if i do alright on the lower dose, i will wait 3 weeks to a month and then try reducing it by another 5mgs. and my crap insurance suddenly doesnt want to pay for more than 60 mgs a day. so thats another factor in this.

if what you are doing is working for you, by all means, dont change it. take your subs and stay clean! if you decide that you can attempt to lower your dose, and i cannot stress this enough, GO SLOWLY!! lowering your dose of ORT too quickly is the best way to end up in a relapse. and you will need to let your doctor know what you are doing, and let him or her guide/help you. see if you can get some clonidine from the doctor. it helps with insomnia and the "heeby jeebies"; skin crawling, anxiety, etc. you have to do what you are comfortable with, and not get ahead of yourself. sounds like you have a good plan going; dont screw that up! and dont look at the possibility of being on ORT for life as a defeat, as "quitting". you know how hard it is to stay clean from your drug of choice, even WITH the ORT, so do what you have to do in order to accomplish that goal. good luck to you and let me know if you have any other questions. may i ask how much suboxone you are taking?

ASA: besides methadone, suboxone and zubsolv, there really isnt any other ORT out there. i dont know what to tell you on that one. i DO know that 180mgs of methadone is quite high, higher than the average dose for ORT. now are you saying that even THAT dose isnt doing it for you? i was going to suggest you try going down on your dose, maybe 5mgs at a time, once a month or so, but i dont know if this is practical for you if that high dose isnt even "holding" you. remember; the methadone clinics are a business, first and foremost. they WANT you to be on 180mgs because they know they probably have a customer for life. btw, when i went from methadone to suboxone, my doctor never said i needed to be down to 30mgs of methadone before i could switch. i was on....if i am remembering correctly....70 or 75mgs when i switched over. so i dont know why these doctors are saying this about having to go down to 30mgs. i just had to make sure all that methadone was out of me, so i didnt go into precipitated withdrawal. so i had to wait more than 48 hours to switch over, had to be in full-on withdrawal. but i was in no way down to 30mgs. i wish i could be of more help to you.

I've been on Zubsolve for about a year... After taking subs and subutext. Zubsolv won't feel as strong- it's not. It's different. You will feel a little withdrawl, for a week or so. But zubs are a lot cleaner. They taste 10000xs better and you feel more awake and more clear. All in all worth the switch. Way better. I've also had my husband try them ( he is on subs) and he liked them. Better. It's just way more clean, and you have a ton more energy. And you wait for 5 min for them to dissolve and taste Sooo much better. It's a way better drug but people that do subs for the high will hate them. Anyone else? Will love them better.

I don't want to go taper down I switched to zubsolv when my insurance made me and ever since I hate them. They don't last nearly as long and my doctor cut me to 45 a month on the subs before I switched so when I switched he kept me there and I was running out before it was time to get another refill I used to be able to take a sub at 3-4pm and be fine till I woke up 12 hrs later. Not with the zubsolv I was waking up at 12-1 am with the restless leg feeling and I knew something wasn't right so I told him and he went back up to 60 and that was a year ago but it still doesn't last as long I'm always waking up taking little pieces to sleep and I never did that with subs the good thing is my company I work for switched insurance this year and they cover subs so when I go to my appoin Monday I'm switching but on the other issue I feel like 60 a month is perfect and I feel from past visits he want me to taper down and I don't want to i feel my life is great and I'm very productive and have money now and I don't want to screw it up but I'm scared my doctor will make me go down and I will have to switch which I don't want to because my doctor gives me two refills and I see he every 3 months that saves me a LOT of money that way so I don't know what I'm going to do but just have to talk to him and tell him how I feel.
