Suboxone Overview

Buprenorphine/naloxone (trade name Suboxone) is a combination drug formulation of buprenorphine, a μ-opioid receptor (MOR) weak partial agonist and κ-opioid receptor antagonist, and naloxone, a MOR silent antagonist, in a 4:1 ratio.[1][2] It is used in the treatment of opioid dependence.[1][2] The purpose of naloxone is to deter intravenous abuse; parenteral administration rapidly induces opioid withdrawal symptoms, while regular, intended use does not (as naloxone is minimally bioa...

How long after you stop Suboxone do you have withdrawal symptoms?
1016 Replies RSS
My 63y/o mother survived chemo and radiation for throat cancer but was unable to stop the morphine 15mg twice a day without horrible withdrawal symptoms. Her MD put her on Suboxone 8mg/2mg once a day in June. She even took half the strip on most days and the doctor was very pleased and anticipated that she would be able to stop altogether in November. She unfortunately had a stroke 14 days ago and has been in the hospital. The first 7 days she was confused from the stroke but now she is weak and forgetful but is no longer disoriented. She told me tonight that she thought she needed her Suboxone. She said she thought she was going thru withdrawal. I was floored. She is not having any outward signs of withdrawal: no back/stomach pain, no nausea/vomiting, no sweating or tremors. Isn't ...

Need a doctor who prescribes suboxone in Indiana - i am on medicaid. ## While I'm not aware of which doctors accept medicaid, I can provide you with links to help you locate specific pain management doctors within your local area. You'd inevitably have to ask the receptionist though if the doctor accepts medicaid or any other type of insurance that you might have. All you have to do is input your city or zip code for narrowed results: {link removed because site no longer exists} You can give this other page a try too if you come up with different results for some reason or another: wellness.com/find/pain%20management%20specialist I hope this helps! ## im 26 and dying from my drug addiction but only have indiana medicade and need help bad ## Hello, Are you still in need of inform...

Cheap suboxone doctors in Louisiana
132 Replies RSS
I am looking for a doctor who prescribes suboxone in the New Orleans, slidell Louisiana area. I am a single mom with no insurance, can't afford 350 a visit and prescription cost. My kids have medicaid but I don't. Thanks. ## Suboxone treatment is still pretty new, so I am not aware of any doctors that offer cheaper prices, because they do have to maintain special approval and monitoring to treat patients with it. Learn more Suboxone details here. If you're looking for a cheaper alternative, you might want to check into Methadone clinics in your area, as it is usually much cheaper, since it's been used for a very long time. How long to wait after suboxone to take oxycodone.
10 Replies RSS
I've only been taking subs for the last 2 days roughly at maybe 8-10mg for those couple of days. How long should I wait until I take oxycodone to make sure the effects actually work. I have no other history with suboxone and the last time I took any oxycodone was a little over 2 weeks ago. I would say my metabolism is above average. However, I just don't want to waste the 15mg of oxycodone that I do have. Also, do i have any risk of randomly having withdrawals from the oxycodone after taking it this one time? ## Also, I forgot to mention that it has been almost 2 days since the last dose of suboxone(which was about 3mg). ## I'd like to know the answer to this as well as most cases have people who have been on sub for years. ## Finally the question I need answerd... and no an...

how long after taking a 1/4 suboxone can you take a Percocet?
41 Replies RSS
I took a 1/4 of a suboxone a friend had given me around 6:00 pm today. How long do I have to wait until I can take a Percocet for pain and not get it and have it work? ## 1/4 of a suboxone isn't a very detailed description how many MG's was the strip?(i know this is an old comment but whatever) ## I know this topic is a few weeks old, but I do agree with josh (post #1) in that the answer to the original thread question would largely depend on how many milligrams of Suboxone you're taking. Based on some other cases I've seen, I'd take a shot in the dark and say it may be up to a week before it's out of your body. Although several personal factors such as age, weight, diet, etc, could also influence the excretion rate. I hope this info helps! Please post back if yo...

I really do not want to be sick again. I cant handle this! How soon after a perc can you take this? I want to get off percs ## You have to be in full withdrawal, before taking Suboxone, otherwise it may throw you into dangerous precipitated withdrawals, unless your doctor has instructed you otherwise. The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Moving From TN to KY
Post a Reply
I am currently undergoing Suboxone therapy , with the film. I am on a stable maintenance dose and live in TN. I am looking to move to Louisville KY and wanted to know if the laws are different for how the medication is prescribed, I.e. others have indicated KY doctors do not like to prescribe for maintenance vs weening therapy. This medication has changed my life for the better. I am fully functional and working and alive again. I don't want to have to worry I will be kicked off the medication by moving. Please Advise.
