Suboxone Overview

Buprenorphine is a semi-synthetic, mixed agonist–antagonist opioid receptor modulator that is used to treat opioid addiction in higher dosages, to control moderate acute pain in non-opioid-tolerant individuals in lower dosages and to control moderate chronic pain in even smaller doses.[3] It is available in a variety of formulations: Subutex, Suboxone, Zubsolv (buprenorphine HCl and/or naloxone HCl; typically used for opioid addiction), Temgesic (sublingual tablets for moderate to sever...

suboxone vs norco. please help
I have chronic pain issues. Numerous injuries, a spinal growth and advancing arthritic conditions have my left side barely ussable. I am permanently disabled at 44 and under the care of a pain management center. I was prescribed loritab/norco about 2 yeArs ago and of course the dose went and the tolerance built and by summer of 2014 I found myself taking 4 10's per day...and of course that wasn't enough so I found myself running low every month and spending the week or so before refills in extreme withdrawals. So I went to my general family doctor and started a Suboxone program and called the pain center and told them I didn't want Norco anymore and thought I as doing a good thing. But I forgot about one thing....the God awful pain. I have been on suboxone for about a month ...

But i see no marks or numbers at all. And they taste like Lemon. Did i get screwed? ## no you didnt get screwed. That is a generic white sub....it taste lemony. ## Really cause i took 4 of the quarters which i don't usually take that much And did nothing to me. Im wondering if they were the 2 mg ones instead of the 8mg like i was told then ## What does the generic 155 suboxone taste like? Anybody tried them before? ## @Sara, Annie (post #1) already mentioned that the taste of these is lemony. However, from what I've been reading in some of the other discussion threa...

Was badly addicted to hydrocodone/oxycodone/percocet for 7 years. Am now free thanks to buprenorphine(Suboxone).
Not real sure why exactly it is that I feel it necessary to post here in this forum. Maybe I'm hoping that someone looking for help will read this and make the same decision myself and my husband did. 7 years ago I was introduced to the joys and wonderous feelings of pain pills. Always working in the restuarant industry as a server/ bartender, the high I got from taking tabs or percs or whatever I could get my hands on led me to believe that I was a better server, better at my job, made more money, could talk to people more openly and be a happier person all around. At first, like the beginning 3 years I would take 1 to 3 lortab 10 mg in one day and be hopping around all over the place till the wee hours of the morning, talking everyone's head off and energized to the max. As th...

Taking suboxone while pregnant
I started taking suboxone in early June. 8mg/2mg strips. 1 1/2 a day. I didn't find out I was pregnant till around 14 weeks. That's a completely different story but luckily baby is safe due to being on birth control for about 7 weeks of me not knowing yet. Anyway I wanted to get off the subs so I left message after message for my OB and heard nothing back. I finally went in for my 18 week ultrasound. When I asked about OB about what was going on he seemed very confused. He has known about the suboxone but had no clue about me wanting to get off the med because the nurse never gave the messages to him. He advised me to stay on it for the safety of the baby. He said chances are he won't have withdrawals after birth but just incase it is easier for him to treat outside the womb...

Life after suboxone?
So I quit opiates on my own and chose suboxone to help with pain... fast forward a few yrs and ive learned its actually fibromyalgia and herniated discs and arthritis giving me all of the pain. Problem now, drs keep passing me off to other drs. Nobody will help me. Im tired of being treated in a poor manner when im in massive pain and can hardly move or walk. I don't know what to do anymore. ## Where you taking Suboxone from an addiction treatment doctor? If so, then that would explain the problem. Doctors are going toe very reluctant to prescribe anything for someone that has an addiction issue listed in their medical records. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and co...

suboxone 8mg/2mg and roxy 30's
I am currently taking 8 to 10 roxy 30's a day. I have suboxones 8mg/2mg to help get clean+ off of these. I know the suboxones are the best pill made to help with the withdraws*but im wondering if for the 1st 3=5 days when im having trouble sleeping and feeling clamy if i should take like half of a roxy 30{which i have done in the past}which helps me to sleep and take away the clamy feeling or any other suggestions that u may have*thanx to anyone answering this for me ## Taking the Oxycodone pills with the Suboxone will do you no good, it contains a substance that neutralizes opiates to prevent their abuse during treatment, that is why it throws you into withdrawals. Suboxone should really not be used without a doctor's supervision, as the dosage and usage is carefully monitored ...

suboxone
has anyone come down from suboxone slowly with no ill effect. ## yes ,i was on 115 mgs of methadone @ swithed to suboxone,it was much easier to ween down from sub than methadone,i'm on 4mgs,down from 16 mgs,it's a good treatment and you must ween down slowly,2mgs every 2 weeks,no sickness, that wasn't the case with methadone. ## Suboxone is very popular for this very reason, a slow taper makes it much easier to get off and stay off drugs. ## i am down to one suboxone a day now after being on three for about 6 months...i cannot afford it anymore so i plan to be weened on in a month or so...should i split my films in half for 2 weeks then to 1/4 ? will that help with withdrawal symptoms....i am scared of the symptons cause i work and go to school and do not want to be or feel s...

Does anyone know of a suboxone doctor that takes insurance . I work and have insurance . I really need help before I lose my job ## Hello, Lizawood! How are you? You can check the website Suboxone.com click here to look for doctors in your area. It also includes their contact information, so you can call and see if they accept your insurance and are taking new patients. This is a narcotic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Have you tried Active Pain Treatment (865) 246-0143. If you go you will be the only insured person than myself going. Expect to go into big time sticker shock, we have BC/BS, and it ran in the thousands. Over $1,000 for 16...

Side effects of suboxone
I have been on suboxone now for just under a month. I think it is an amazing drug, i have had no cravings or interest in returning to opiates, my drug of choice was oxy. I get up every day feeling happy, and am able to take on what ever the day brings me. I am also on lexapro for depression at this time. There is one problem after i take my dose, which is 8 mg. twice a day, I am extremely tired sometimes to the point where if i sit down I will nod off, so I keep moving and can usually fight through it. I am wondering do other people feel this way or does it get better the longer you are on it? Two other things that are sometimes very bothersome are dizzyness and extreme dry mouth. I just wanted to find out other peoples experiences. Thanx ## Hey yea I get the same nod as you, it starts ...
