Tramadol Overview

Tramadol (marketed as Ultram, and as generics) is used to treat moderate to moderately severe pain.[4] When taken as an immediate-release oral formulation, the onset of pain relief usually occurs within about an hour.[5] It has two different mechanisms. First, it binds to the μ-opioid receptor. Second, it inhibits the reuptake of serotonin and norepinephrine.[6][7] Serious side effects may include: seizures, increased risk of suicide, serotonin syndrome, decreased alertness, and drug add...

one side of pill is a M the other side of the pill is T7 ## what type of drug is tramadol hcl 50 mg. is it narcotic, like morphine or codene, is more like accetomedaphen(tylonal), asprin or what? What is it addictive, not addictive, have been given it for pain and having trouble finding out info on it... ## Tramadol is an interesting medication, the FDA has actually changed its classification several times. Basically, when inventing this drug, what they were trying to do was retain the analgesic properties of an opiate, but cut out the side effects and dependence or addiction issues. What they go was a pain killer that is actually somewhere in between. It does not work as effectively as most narcotics and it can cause the same side effects as an opiate, including dependence and addictio...

anywhere to get tramadol after august 18?
114 Replies RSS
Ive been taking tramadol for aprox 8yrs nonstop other than a 7week break. Ive back problems and my knees are broken down do to years of rough wear and tear on top of many injuries. Ive no health insurance either. Truth b told,i cannot function very well at all without taking the tramadol. So i am checking to see of anyone has any insight or suggestions as to where i may b able to purchase tramadol after the 18th of august which is when tramadol becomes a controlled substance. Im aware that ordering overseas is risky but going without the meds is not an option. I am very worried about the change in classification. I never expected anything like this to happen, had i known and not been ignorant to the possibility of not being able to order tramadol online i would have done something diffe...

Tramadol withdrawal terrible stomach pain
22 Replies RSS
Hello. I have searched the web and can't seem to find a problem like mine while coming off tramadol. I have horrible stomach burning and pain that extends down both sides of my rib cage. It happened once before when I was coming off tramadol and you think I would have learned to stay away from this poison. Has anyone else had pain and terrible burning down both sides of their rib cage when coming off tramadol? This is day 2 for me. I am hoping it goes away soon ## I think it's safe to say that Tramadol withdrawal symptoms can be quite similar to the side effects of those who are still taking the drug. According to the mayo clinic, severe abdominal or stomach pain is reported to be a normal, but serious side effect of Tramadol (that should be reported to your doctor). I don't...

Please could you tell me if Tramadol and gabapentin is a Narcotic ? Thank you! ## Hello, Kathy! How are you? The FDA classifies Gabapentin as an anticonvulsant, though it can also help with certain types of nerve pain and some mood disorders. Its typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, weight gain, dry mouth and mood swings. Tramadol is, however, classified as an opioid, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, drowsiness and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

tramadol after August 18??

Hearing lots of places that the people who order tramadol via internet will no longer be able to. I live in a town with uptight doctors who charge outrageous prices plus insist on doing constant testing before writing a prescription. If true what are my option after Aug 18 ## i wish i had an answer for you, i have been using it for 3 years, more as a anti-depressant. I take 200 mg a day and feel good, certainly not intoxicated. This decision by FDA is ridiculous. Tramadol is not in the same class as Percs and Roxys etc. Unbelievable. I can go to Dr but i will be spending mad $ on their BS. Prices in the international market will now be inflated as well. The market is risky unless you know credible sources. ## Tramadol will become a Controlled Substancde Schedule IV in Aug. But, Schedule...

tramadol no imprint

I have some pills that are little white round and don't have no imprint expose to be tramadol ## Hello, Ray! How are you? If they have no imprint, they are most likely just some type of over the counter product. All U.S. prescription tablets are required to have imprints to enable their identification, in case of emergency. The imprint enables someone to discover what medication they contain, the dosage and what pharmaceutical company manufactured them. Only over the counter products are not required to have imprints. The FDA lists Tramadol as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I'm not sure which over the counter product this is, because there are m...

tramadol hcl 50 mg how strong

My Dr. put me on tramadol 50mg 2 every 6hours.I was on codeine #3 but the VA pharmacy ran out and wont have them till Feb. My question is will I have any bad affects switching from codeine #3 to tramadol 50 mg thanks for your help. ## Hello, Mark! How are you? It only takes 45mgs of the Tramadol to equal each 30mgs of Codeine that you were taking, so you may actually get better pain relief from taking 100mgs of it. And the side effects should be about the same, the FDA classifies this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## thanks for your help.

My doctor hates prescribing Painkillers

I slipped a disk 8 years ago. It was the worst pain I've ever felt. Horrible. The pain I have now with Degenerative Disk Disease is chronic, but between PT and the Tramadol I'm prescribed, the pain is manageable. Yesterday, I slipped on the ice and fell directly on the part of my back I originally fell on 8 years ago. Instant excruciating pain. After writhing on the ground for 5 straight minutes, I managed to get myself to the ER. I was prescribed Percocet 5/325 and Flexeril 10. The combination of the two relieves the pain, but does not eliminate it. I'm a big guy, and I swear that I should have a larger dose. My PCP is very old fashioned, and I'm honestly scared he won't renew the medication the ER doc gave me. I'm missing work right now, and can't go back u...
