My zubsolv was free with a coupon from orexo. I do have insurance but even without it, it was no where near 9$ a piece.

Hi. I was just prescribed zubsolv for chronic gi pain in which no dr can find a cause. Can anyone tell me if this may help? I've had so many tests all of which were negative and been on so many meds to try and combat this that he thought this may actually help. I'm worried about long term use and side effects as well.

interesting. i didnt realize that buprenorphine was being prescribed for anything other than opiate addiction/opiate replacement therapy. as far as side effects, they would be the typical opiate side effects: drowsiness, sweats, constipation, possibly itchiness. and as with any opiate taken on a regular basis, physical addiction/dependence. if you are taking this long term, you may eventually notice that you need a larger dose to get the same effect. that is a sign that you may be becoming physically addicted to it.

It is most def true. Ive been getting my Zubsolv mailed from Illinois to Texas through FedEx for 8 months. I have to sign for them and show an id if its not my normal FedEx girl but yeah this is happening. A lot. Directly from the pharmacy.

I was told it can help chronic pain so I'm hoping it will work. I'm concerned about the side effects though. I've never been addicted to anything before including narcotics so I hope I won't become addicted to this either. Is there anyone else out there that's been prescribed zubsolv for pain?? If so has it worked?? Also has anyone had bad side effects that rendered them unable to function such as disorientation, weakness, dizziness, or confusion??

sorry, i have only used bupe (active ingredient in zubsolv) for ORT, but if you experience any of those symptoms, (dizziness, confusion, etc) then you are probably either on too high a dose, or are having a reaction such as allergic or drug interaction. if you stay on any sort of opiates long enough, you will develop a physical tolerance, unless you are on a very low dose. thats just how opiates work. you should discuss your concerns about all this with your doctor. i wish you luck.

Can anyone tell me if the nausea and headaches will stop? 2 days into the zubsolv and I keep vomiting and getting horrible headache within 7 hrs of taking it. It also makes me extremely weak/sedated within an hr of taking it. Any help will be much appreciated!

as far as weak and sedated, you may be on too high of a dose. if a person is on too much opiates, then sedation and weakness can most definitely be side effects. as far as the headaches and stomach troubles, i had those same issues. with me it was due to the naloxone in the suboxone, and not the opiates themselves. i was quickly switched to subutex, which is the opiate (buprenorphine) WITHOUT naloxone. problem solved. ive never had a problem with headaches from opiates, but opiates can definitely cause nausea, constipation and other GI issues. my guess tho is that the naloxone is causing the headaches because thats what it did to me. just a guess tho. see if your doctor will let you try subutex, which is the buprenorphine without the naloxone, and if the symptoms go away, then thats your culprit. good luck.

I'm sorry but you are wrong. I don't understand why people make things up. If you are addicted to full agonist opiates and take either subutex or suboxone or zubsolv or any buprenorphine containing medication you will be put into withdrawal. Buprenorphine has such a high binding affinity that it strips all the agonist opiates and causes withdrawal. The pharmacology of naloxone orally or sublingual basically makes it ineffective and unable to have any real big effect. It may do something but it is minimal. It's there to prevent iv use which from what I read doesn't even work very well. You must not have been addicted to full agonist when you did your evaluation, either that or you waited long enough for the buprenorphine to work correctly and not put you into withdrawal. Look it up. This is documented stuff.

THANK YOU!!! pretty much everything you said!! there are some on here (verwon) who would INSIST that as long as the naloxone is not in there, you can take it back to back with opiates.....WRONG!! i am living proof that just plain subutex (bupe WITHOUT naloxone) with throw you into HORRIBLE precipitated withdrawals. i took subutex too soon after opiates and was in AGONY!! its the bupe, NOT THE NALOXONE, that is the problem! and yes, the naloxone is only in there to stop people from IV'ing straight subutex. and yes, administering subutex intravenously, if you are an addict, doesn't do a dang thing! im not sure who you are responding to (possibly verwon?) but i was glad to see your comment, it is spot-on. anyone who decides that subutex is ok to take soon after full agonist opiates is going to regret it, big time!

The Zubsolv 5.7 mg buph/1.4mg naloxone exactly as potent as the Suboxone 8mg buph/2mg naloxone. The reason for this is Zubsolv being the newer improved formula by a competing company has a better bioavailability. I've been on Zubs for nearly two years now (since it first became FDA approved according to my doctor) and was previously on Subs 8/2mg. In my opinion it's a win win. Same exact strength, faster dissolve time, mich better taste and slightly cheaper than Suboxone. There was a war between Reckitt Benckiser (makers of subs) and Orexo (makers of Zubs) in court initially because RB wanted to patent their suboxone so no other company could make generic versions of their drug. However obviously they lost the war in court and I for one am thankful.

Candy,
I was on three 8mg Suboxone for about 8 months and never experienced any side effects (drowsiness, nausea, lethargic,). One day I went to the Dr and bc of my ins. I had to change to zubsolv. It made me nod out couldn't stay awake, made me sick everything.. I even tried cutting down on the dose to see if it was to high. Didn't work. And I went from 3 subs to 1 zubsolv. They are terrible. Some people have no problem but I had a HORRENDOUS experience. My recommendation is try and get subs...

It might be documented to be true but I assure you on EVERYTHING it is not true. I was on subutex for 3 years.. Relapsed on opiates tried to get off..waited 30 houre before taking subutex which when I did I was in the sweats pretty good and also was at church with my daughter and my sister with me, when the subutex hit me it was like a hurricane/volcano had hit my body instantly.. Ice hot led running threw my veins, I could barely get the kids in the car..almost had to call an ambulance, no joke.. Almost s*** my pants. This s*** was no joke.. THEE sickest I've ever been n my life. So I don't care what the books say, I know my truth. And those of you who've experienced exactly what I have... U KNOW what I'm talking about

actually, the "books" confirm what you went through. taking buprenorphine (subutex/suboxone/zubsolv) too soon after full agonist opiates will through you into a world of hurt. i have never experienced withdrawals like that before, and never want to again. anyone who says different is just plain WRONG.

Unfortunately the books call it "percepitated withdrawl".. I would call it the absolute worst feeling in the entire world for hours and hours on end. I was a HEAVY addict at the time and ran out and was broke.. Was told by a friend that subutex won't make you sick.. ( I will never forget this as long as I live)... So I spent the day smoking about 400-500mcg of gel then about 4 hours later the WD set in so I took a subutex. In about 2 hours I wanted to literally die. I was told to take more and it will help so I took 3 more... Mistake... After sitting on the toilet while vomiting in the sink for about 3 hours I paced my house for 27 hours straight.. Xanax, Valium, kpins, nothing helped. I laid down for about 10 seconds before the RLS got so bad is start walking again. Same routine over and over for 27 hours. Literally.. Once I finally passed out I was unable to leave the couch for 3 days. So from a 15 month clean recovering addict I'd say NEVER take anything with bupe and or narcan in it untill your a few hours into full blown opiate withdrawals. Not just the "I don't feel good" withdrawals... I'm getting sick now just thinking of that week.. Yet after all said and done I went right back to opiates... Now 15 months clean. Nothing but strips for me!!!

I'm curious about your post. You said you had your prescription mailed to you? How might I be able to do that?
I was prescribed zubsolv in October and took it for a month. The script is out of Mission Viejo CA. I relapsed for almost a month, so have to start all over. My last pain med was taken around 2am. So I waited until 5pm tonite to take my first AND LAST zubsolv. I'm freaking out because I tried to call in my refill to a pharmacy in CA, because I moved to Nevada. Cvs told me the doctor I gave them is BLOCKED. I have no clue what that means, I'm sweaty and sick smh, and I need my script.
If you have any kind of info for me, I would appreciate it soooo much
