I took a urine drug test for my job and they said it came back positive for methamphetamine, but I dont use methamphetamine. I've just been real sick the whole week before and took a lot of diff. meds to break da fevers and my bad cough. What could have caused it to come up positive?

My husband just tested positive for meth and does not do meth! the test was for the purpose of pain management bc of a broken back which resulted in pneuminia and
Congestive heart failure - takes 3 different inhalers as well as Effexor and Percocet , Ativan and clonopin Along with vitamins and minerals, blood pressure meds could you please offer some insight as to how he can clear his name with dr( and maintain his pain with this dr) bc he can not have back surgery due to lung cindition

I was hospitalized for a transfusion for anemia, I had gastric bypass and can no longer digest meat or many other foods. I am constantly accused of being bulemic, maybe technically I function similar to a bulemic yet this is not by choice.
I tested positive for meth and was chastized in the hospital. I use a vics inhaler for chronic post nasal drip. Had no idea this OTC could effect a positive result, also take wellbutrin, I am humiliated and feel like I was treated like a criminal and drug addict.
I am furious with the doctor who violated HIPAA, blurted this out without regards to anyone else in the room. others over heard this is a HIPAA violation regulated by the office of civil rights and also was an infraction of my human rights, I feel he stole my dignity and was punitive. He refused to treat my osteomyelitis with rt. foot numbness and examine my memory loss due to previous domesticviolence in which i sustained multiple head injuries, loss of consciousness and anoxic brain trauma prolonged choking.

I take Clonazepam and Alprazolm show up & Meth show up too & I do not take or do Meth, I take Clonazepam, with alot of breathing meds also!!!!

i just got a positive for methamphetamines, i was fired and was told to write the doctor with anything i have taken.
1) mens 1 a day
2) detonate dietary supplement
3) claritin
4) lean muscle supplement
i havent used because i know of the companies policy and enjoyed the job. i took the supplements before and got a positive, then took required courses, then stopped taking anything even vitamins. I was pulled for 2 tests while not taking anything both negative. I then started taking these again to help keep me running healthy and help with fitness while working in the heat, and Monday morning was called in and boom positive. please any help or information is appreciated.

I have just lost my children to cps...I will explain why now and then ask my queI have just taking a saliva drug test for dcfs in the county I live at the office. The day I took the test I was worried about taking the test due the fact I had just went to the Dentist one or two days before to get one tooth pulled and 5 caped. I was asked to take one so I did but at the end of the test I finually remembered to mention the dentist. He gave me Novacaine shots at least 6 at that time I also attend the Methadone Clinic and have been fighting off one heck of a cold so I have also been taking sudofed, alive D, and Dayquil/Nightquil. I took this mouth swab and had taking all of these medications within 2 to 3 days before. I test got word from my probation officer that I had failed a drug test for meth at cps and they were going to revoke me unless I left work to take one at that time within ne hour I did and passed their urine drug screen.I have not failed one single drug screen of any sort in three year or lose to that. I was asked to attend the methadone clinic while I was pregnant by my OB/GYN and after I gave birth I was still on a very very high dose of 130 and cps didn't even try to give me time. So my question is from the medications I had been consuming could any of those case me to test positive for methamphetamines. He should be able to clear himself by bringing in legitimate proof of any prescription meds he takes prescribed by his Dr (s). ALSO, they can run a further test to distinguish between the presence of amphetamines vs. methamphetamine. Wish u the best.

Brit, maybe think about the bad decisions your making. Getten pregnant so young. Doing drugs while pregnant. Its a dark road and you will lose everything.You won't win with dcf the state is such a ball buster. "Wellbutein" WILL give. False positive for amp. BTW, didn't read one thing about that poor drug addicted baby. The state's doing what's right. Remember,,,,, decisions we make have a ripple effect. Sign the kid over to kin.family. Ya ya ya cause you care so much. My Dr id# your SCREWED.

I'm offended that you say your "street name" or whatever because you were takin off of a very addictive drug and left on methadone and sent to a methadone clinic I'm assuming. Why you were prescribed both is a shock to me seeing how the methadone is used to treat being addicted to drugs such as Oxy or Roxys. I'm on methadone and I go to the clinic and we have moms to lawyers and doctors that come here. If anything I have found people are more accepting to the fact I am getting help due to becoming addicted to pain killer a dr prescribed me. You are where you would have ended up anyway you just got a head start. It doesn't sound like you are trying to understand what the clinic does and what path you were already on. As for your street name if that's how your known it's a good thing it's ruined. Stay in the clinic and learn more before you judge everyone that you have so much in common with.

i also have never used meth but recently tested positive for meth on a urine test, after alot of research i found that i was taking naprocen for arthritis and trazadone to help me sleep both can cause a positive reading for meth use. i was lucky enough to have a doctor who believed me when i told him i had never done meth in my life and could not tell him anything about it. research will help you find out what has caused this

I had my second false positive today in less than a year. I have been clean for 9 years. I take a lot of medications including Seroquel, Prozac, Klonopin, Neurontin, Tramadol, Baclofen, albuterol inhaler, ortho-tri cyclen, Prilosec, and Bentyl. I also take Aleve almost every day, instead of Tylenol. Doc says my liver enzymes are high. I also take Primatene tablets when my asthma acts up. I let the first false positive go, along with a very good job. I Refuse to Give in again. At this rate, I'll never be employed. PLEASE HELP!!

So my name is Heidi and I also came up positive for methamphetamine.I too use ranitidine and Tylenol to. I also take a lot of other meds for different reasons but I to use Tylenol on a daily basis due to chronic headaches. I would like to know also if any of my other meds would of caused this bad UA. Funny thing is none of my meds have changed but this test is just now coming up positive for this drug that I most certainly do not take. I do not and never will do drugs. The only thing I take that isn't a prescription is Tylenol and vitamins. I'm starting to wonder if my new use in vitamins also has something to do with it? Well I wish u the best of luck with your doctor and I hope I have some good luck as well cuz I certainly do not want to be kicked out of my clinic for something I haven't done.....H

it's probably the diet pill that caused the false positive...make sure u tell the doctor who ran the test what u r on. I to came up positive for something I have never taken and have been doing research online and found out that my stomach ulcer pill can cause this false positive.I also know from reading that diet pills can do this as well. I hope this helps...H.
