Seroquel effects on muscles and skin
1 Reply RSS
I would like to know if anyone has experienced skin and muscle mass changes while on Seroquel? I was put on this medication by my psychiatrist almost a year ago to help with manic depressive disorder and sleep problems. At first it seemed to do a wonderful job with minimal side effects (increased appetite and a bit of a dry mouth). I then was given a gradual increase in dosage when sleep problems started to become a problem again. At the increased dosage of 400 mg daily, I noticed that my skin was suddenly taking on a crinkly, crepe paper like appearance and there was a dramatic change in my leg and arm muscle mass with dramatic weakness and leg muscle pain so severe at night that it awakens me from sleep. My skin has become so paper thin that when I shave my legs, they bleed. At the ag...

Seroquel Questions and Slow taper?
4 Replies RSS
Hello, I am a 48 year old woman and I have been on 100mg of seroquel at night for 8 years for depression and sleep. I need to slowly taper off this. It seems it is making me even more tired and I sleep and sleep for very long hours. I have a lot of issues with it. I have a few questions. I take the 100mg tablet at night. I also have some of the 25 mg and was going to use those to taper. But even though I know 4 of the 25 mg tablets are 100mg, It seems to work different when taken that way? Anyone else notice this? Should I just try to cut up the 100mg and taper that? I wanted to take 75mg and take the other 25 mg tablet and cut it up. I want to do a very slow taper. I would be happy to taper 25 mg over 2.5 to 4 months. I have tapered off other things in the past that I took for fibromya...

Seroquel personality change

Can anyone help. My husband started taking seroquel some 7 years ago and at first the side effects were awful. Since then I have slowly seen him disappear. He used to be very affectionate and we were a close couple. Now he never hugs, has lost his sensitive side altogether, has a terrible memory and is generally disconnected from me and the kids. He's like a shell of the man he used to be. He doesn't see it. ## My husband is exactly the same way, he's here but he's not, you cannot touch him, he's more paranoid, always scratching head at night, twirling the blanket until he falls asleep, you nailed it, he is here, but he is not like he use to be, no affection, not sensitive, personality not there, he does not no this, I had to go to counseling to feel better, but now ...

expiration date seroquel

i have a partially used bottle of seroquel 100mg that expired on 1/15/15. is it still suitable to use? today's date is 3/4/15. ## Hi Jiffy, According to two different articles - one from Harvard University and the other from LA Times, many medications remain good for up to 10-40 years past the listed expiration date, depending on the substance and how it's stored...I don't have a complete list of these exact medications, nor do I encourage taking something that's been expired for quite some time - but seeing as your medication is less than two months old, my opinion is that it should have most if not all of its efficacy still intact. does it make you flushed or hot? ## Seroquel is classifies by the FDA as being an atypical antipsychotic that's most commonly used to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Actually, it usually causes chills as a side effect, along with nausea, dizziness, headache, sedation and weight gain. Are you on any other medications? Have you consulted your doctor?

Concerns about prescription of Seroquel
2 Replies RSS
A close friend of mine has been taking Seroquel for about a year now and I think her current dosage is around 400-600mg/day. This drug was prescribed to her to treat anxiety and for sleep issues. I have spent time with her after she has taken this medication and its horrible. She acts like she is drunk. She has almost no short-term memory and forgets things she talked about just moments before. She slurs her words and becomes rather uncoordinated. And she has no recollection of what she said or did the following day. She has developed such a dependency that she is now taking the Seroquel late in the afternoon, is in bed by 7pm and will sleep for 10+ hours. She has tried drugs like Cymbalta and Lyrica with no effect. From what I have researched, prescribing Seroquel for anxiety is rather...

Round Yellow Pill N on one side 100 on the other
3 Replies RSS
Im from canada and was given this pale yellow pill imprinted with a N and 100. was told it was a kind of narcotic. ## Hello, Tstouty! How are you? Are the N and 100 on the same side or opposite sides? Are there any score lines on the tablet? ## So, I just found the same mystery pill not too long ago. The N and the 100 are on opposite sides of the flat, light yellow, circular, coated pressed pill. The edges are ever so slightly beveled on both sides- barely even so. There are no other imprints on the pill. ## I have this pill too is it seroquel? N or z on one side, 100 on the other, round peachy colored. Thanks all!

Can Seroquel 50mg be taken together with pax 10 mg ## Yes, unfortunately these class of medications (anti-psychotics) do carry the side effect of weight gain. These meds actually slow down your metabolism causing weight gain. If you are using it for sleep which is what a lot of us are prescribing it for, so as to not get you hooked on sleeping pills. These meds side effect of sleepiness is why we use this even if you're not psychotic. Try breaking one in half with a knife and try using just half. Whatever you do if you are taking them every night you DO NOT stop taking this medication before speaking with your doctor first. Abrubt stopping of these meds could cause seizures and other problems you will have to be titraited from the drug if you so choose. It is a good drug for occasio...
