Wellbutrin Overview

Bupropion (/bjupropi.n/, bew-PROH-pee-on) is a drug primarily used as an antidepressant and smoking cessation aid. Marketed as Wellbutrin and Zyban among other trade names, it is one of the most frequently prescribed antidepressants in the United States,[8] although in many English-speaking countries, including the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand, this is an off-label use.[9] It is also widely used to aid people who are trying to quit smoking.[8] It is taken in the form of tablets, ...

Has Anyone Tried The Generic Version Of Wellbutrin Sr Made By Sun Pharma Bupropion Hcl
13 Replies RSS
Hi - I just got a perscription for the Sun Pharma generic version of Wellbutrin SR (Bupropion HCL SR). Has anyone had success with this one? If not which generic version have you had success with? ## Whatever generic worked for someone else may not work for you and vice versa. Learn more Wellbutrin SR details here. The only way to find out what works for you is to actually try it and see. If one generic doesn't work for you, then you can consult your pharmacist to see what else is available. Have you started them yet? Have you had any problems with them? ## CVS stopped carrying the Watson generic in March and supply only Sun Pharma brand of Bupropion, which is manufactured in India and distributed in the U.S. by CARACO Pharmaceutical Labs based in Detroit. The pills I took in March ...

what is the best generic brand of wellbutrin
10 Replies RSS
FYI: The drug manufacturer Watson bought out Activist. Watson "made a business decision" to no longer produce the Watson generic brand of Wellbutrin and only produce the Activist version. Watson was the brand that worked for me (I've tried many) so it's unfortunate they have made this business decision. I've called the company to request they continue to manufacture the Watson version. Anyone going through the same situation may want to call Watson 1-800-272-5525. *** if anyone takes a generic that doesn't work they should notify the F.D.A. 1-855-543-3784. ## Thank you for sharing this info Trace. Ever since Actavis bought out Watson, it seems like most of their meds have all started to go down hill. I mean if they're making these kinds of business decisions ...

What Is The Best Generic Version Of Wellbutrin Xl - Watson or Anchen?
727 Replies RSS
My doctor will not prescribe generic Wellbutrin XL but my insurance will no longer pay for brand name drugs. I will have to pay about $7000 per yer for what I am taking now (3 of the 150mg Wellbutrin XL brand name per day). I am reading that the problem with the generics is the time release mechanism and not the drug itself and that some are better than others. Anybody have experience with the generics made by Watson and /or Anchen? ## I have no experience using it, but I do understand the problems that can occur with generic medications. I also did some searching and from what I've found online, most that have tried the one manufactured by Anchen have had good results with it. However, you may not get the same results, the only way to find out is to actually try it and see how it w...

Wellbutrin SR Mylan

I have read all the problems people are having with the generic versions of the Wellbutrin XL but I have had similar problems with the change in generics for Wellbutrin SR. I originally took 300 to 400 mgs of Wellbutrin SR manufactured by Watson. I have had several changes but did okay on the Wellbutrin by Watson and Sandoz. I went into a deep depression when I was switched to the Mylan but my insurance at first denied a different brand. Now they will switch to another generic with a special process. Has anyone experienced any side effects or improvement with the generic by Activis? ## Hello, Sorry to hear about your problems switching between all those manufacturers. It is however important to know that everyone reacts differently to these types of medications. So while one generic may...

taking wellbutrin/buporion while pregnant

My doctor prescribed me buporion to help me quit smoking and I'm pragnant, will this drug harm my baby. ## Hi Mic, As a psychotherapist and a holistic health practitioner and a mother of two toddlers I want to encourage you to seek out alternative methods for quitting smoking than taking drugs. Even if there is a 1% chance that the medication can affect the baby, then it's worth finding another route. I'm all for keeping our babies drug free. Try hypnotherapy and/or acupuncture. They can be very helpful for smoking. It's disturbing to see how readily and frequently vulnerable people like children and pregnant women are given drugs when we still don't know the long term effects of these drugs on children and the fetus. So please listen to the part of you that is ambiv...

Wellbutrin is no Longer Working | Depression
2 Replies RSS
I've been taking Wellbutrin for 7 years. Over the years my doctor has increased the dosage to combat the loss of effectiveness due to tolerance. Now, it no longer works. I'm bedridden, have stopped working and have trouble with activities that involve movement, like washing dishes. Doing laundry is a huge accomplishment. Anyway, I've been on imipramine for 7 years, a tricyclic antidepressant (TCA) of the dibenzazepine group. Anyway, I'm curious about Selegiline, an MAO-B, (its also calledAnipryl, L-deprenyl, Eldepryl, Emsam, Zelapar). Has anyone tried it to boost Wellbutrin? How about something to boost acetylcholine? How about COMT? It's critical that I get something like Wellbutrin to work. What is the standard replacement? What are some on the synergetic boosters?...

Hi! I am on lexamil 5 mg daily for a week before that wellbutrin 150 mg and 5 mg lexamil for 4 weeks before that wellbutrin 300 mg for 2 years. Weaning from the Wellbutrin because dr feels that it increases my anxiety, which is my main problem. Can these meds lead to alcohol blackouts? One minute fine to next minute waking up with memory loss. My memory is really bad on day to day basis. Also need to know will i pick up weight with lexamil?

how can i find out where my prescription medicine is manufactured

Can't seem to find wellbutrin substitute made in the USA. Also, where are meds by Teva made? ## Hello, Lisa! How are you? Where they are actually manufactured doesn't matter. As long as they are approved by FDA, they have had to meet the same efficacy and quality standards as all others that are on the market here. As to where a particular one is manufactured, what are the markings on it? That is what would enable me to check this information for you. This medication may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and headache.
