Neurontin Made Me Feel Euphoric
9 Replies RSS
I was introduced to neurontin by my boyfriend. He used it for recreation and said it made him feel chill. He would take 9 capsules so I only took 3 capsules of the 300mg capsules. It made me happy and giggley and I felt like I was floating. I didn't feel angry or as if I wanted to hurt someone as I normally feel daily. Why? ## Neurontin contains the active ingredient Gabapentin, which is actually an anticonvulsant, so it works on brain chemicals, this it can cause the effects you experienced in some people, which is why there are warnings that some people are more prone to abuse it. For this same reason, it is also sometimes used to treat mood disorders, such as bipolar disorder. Learn more: Are there any other questions or comments? ## Wow. That is quite a reaction for such a small...

gabapentin withdrawals

being taken off of neurontin/gabapentin after seven years. crying, anxious, and what no one mentions itching all over! have tried antihistamines, cortizone creams but w/ no relief. ## yes this is normal I went through the same thing. I was on 3600 for eight years. I weaned off very slowly. I started weening off in 2008. I am now down to 400mg and go down about 100 a week. Its so awful ## These types of problems are normal from a sudden withdrawal of any medication that affects brain chemicals, which is exactly what Gabapentin does, since it was initially discovered as an anticonvulsant. Unfortunately, since you were on it for so long, it is probably going to take several weeks for these effects to wear off, though they should gradually improve and lessen in severity. As to the itching, ...

best generic brand of neurontin 2015
Post a Reply
My pharmacy has recently stopped carrying Actavis generic Neurontin 100 mg. They also said they "could not order Actavis for me". So, I ended up purchasing the Brand Neurontin. My insurance picked up some but it was still $$$. Now that I've tried the brand it seems to work better at neuropathic pain control. Just wondering in May 2015 if anyone in the USA has found a generic Neurontin that they really like or works for them? I live in a small area with very few pharmacy options other than 2 big box chains. The monopoly works to their advantage as they rarely ever will 'order' any generic a person asks for. You tend to have to take whatever they are pushing that month. Picking up a script is like playing "musical chairs", every month or two a pill is a differe...

Sudden Withdrawal from Neurontin
229 Replies RSS
I have been taking 600 mg of Neurontin 4x a day for about 2 years and recentlty ran out of this medication due to excrutiating slow service from mandatory mail order RX company.... I was extremely agitated during this time (approx. 5 days), nervous, stressed out, etc. Has anyone else had these symptons as a result of sudden withdrawal from Neurontin? I can't understand why this happened, I felt so scared and lousy for that time. Is this a known reaction for this med? I haven't been able to find an answer. I take it for relief from carpel tunnel syndrom. Thanks ## Almost any med, or substance, even you morning coffee, will cause some withdrawal symptoms when you have been used to having it in your body for awhile, and suddenly stop taking it. Did it ease when you finally started ...

Dangerous Cocktail: Neurontin and Opiates
5 Replies RSS
One of the contraindications while taking Neurontin is using opiates such as Hydrocodone (Vicodin) and Oyxcodone (Percocet). The opiates potentiate the effect of Neurotin by 14%. With Morphine, it increases the effect of Neurotin by 44%. My husband was on Neurontin at 900 mg a day (taken in three doses). At that time, he was not taking much of his pain killer, Oxycodone (Percocet), maybe one 5mg dose a night. My husband was originally took Neurotin for shingles nerve pain. His doctor decided to increase his dose of Neurontin to 1800 mg per day (three equal doses). Before that time, my husband increased his Oxycodone to two 5mg tablets before bedtime and another 5mg tablet about four hours later. Upon the increase in Neurontin, my husband started to experience some adverse effects. These...

I ran out of neurontin after slow response from mail order drug company. I had serotonin syndrome after abrupt withdrawal from amitriptylene and fear this could happen again. I am having agitation, itching, sleeplessness and a feeling of crawling on my body. ## The symptoms you're experiencing can be normal withdrawal symptoms from abruptly stopping a medication. Serotonin syndrome, which can be life threatening, does not usually occur from stopping a medication, it occurs due to taking too many medications that increase the amount of Serotonin in the brain. Neurontin Ingredients?

Could you tell all of the ingredients, including all Supplements, that are found in the medication known as Neurontin. I had a terrible reaction to Neurontin 8 years ago, when I was prescribed Neurontin for muscle spasms I suffered in my legs, from a Back Injury. I now have Neuropathy from that Back Injury and Nerve damage. I am interested in trying Nerve Renew, and another Supplement, but I want to make sure there are no ingredients found in the products that are found in Neurontin? I do not want to end up in the Hospital again. ## Hi Ron, Neurontin is actually the generic name for Gabapentin. The only other types of ingredients outside of this are binders/fillers that vary depending upon which manufacturer's version you're taking. If you happen to have a Neurontin tablet in-ha...

how long does neurontin work in your body before being excreted

I was recently started on neurontin and even before discharge I advised the psychiatrist that I was having reactions. He felt they were occurring from starting Geodon and stopped that one. I was having discharge on Friday April 27th. Symptoms worsen and I read more on neurontin and really am concerned. I called the BSU as I wanted guidance and was told to discontinue it. I am unable to remember the start date but thinking it was possibly the Tues or Wed of last week. I REALLY am very concerned about permanent damage... It is a low dose 100 mg TID. I see my primary tomorrow for hospital follow up. HOWEVER, I could use reassurance as I am clearly very anxious and VERY fearful, especially about my memory... Could I have some more guidance and perhaps reassurance?? I am very very concerned ...
