I know someone who takes 15 tablets of Cortal (500mg). What would happen to her in the event of an overdose? I'm getting nervous. ## Cortal is listed as containing Aspirin, which is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, that also caused blood thinning. Taking that many could cause her blood to be thin, so a cut or scrape could cause dangerous bleeding. She could also end up with a bleeding ulcer, due to the way it can irritate the stomach, as reported by the FDA. There is also a risk of liver damage, along with elevated heart rate and blood pressure. Any of these could possibly result in a fatal overdose. Why does she take so many? ## Ma wawala ang side effects ng gamot n cortal kse po gumamit yng pinasan ko po tas after nya mg karoon na ramdaman na niya yng mga side effects masusulusyo...

I have shoulder pain and am a diabetic patient. Can I take Predmet tablets for relief of pain? This pain started after catching a chikungunya fever. ## Hi Veena, sorry to hear about your illness and pain. Predmet contains the active ingredient Methylprednisolone, which is a corticosteroid indicated for the treatment of pain and inflammation (among other things). So yes, in the short term, it will probably help with pain relief. But keep in mind that this kind of drug is not meant to be taken over a long time or stopped abruptly, as some serious side effects may develop. So I would suggest working closely with your doctor while taking this medication, and then gradually lowering your dose until you are off it. You're supposed to take the first two tablets of Methylprednisolone before breakfast. My question is how long do I have to wait to eat breakfast after I take the medicine? ## You probably don't need to wait long to eat breakfast after taking your first dose. Maybe 15-30 minutes tops if you're concerned about absorption (as the medication has a peak concentration about 2 hours after ingesting it). Actually, according to Medline Plus, Methylprednisolone may cause an upset stomach and you should take it with food or milk. Why take it before breakfast? Taking medication at the same time every day, such as before breakfast, can establish a routine, making it easier to remember and ensuring consistent dosing. I have had two back surgeries, and have severe lumbar pain on a daily basis, especially when doing certain activities. I cannot do my physical therapy without taking a pain pill first but then I can get through my exercises. Last year my doctor lowered the number of tablets that I can take per day from 4 down to 3. Is this a federal law, or is it the practice of the medical facility that I go to? I also have arthritis throughout my body and need a shoulder replacement and cortisone shots in my knees, etc. I am not aware of the arthritis pain that runs through my body until I run out of my meds, so it must be working. I do however, occasionally, run out of my meds 3 or 4 days before I can get it refilled. Anything from weather presures or certain activities just elevates my pain to the p...

I've been sitting here crying because the pharmacist just told me that AsthmaNefrin was taken off the market. I look on the internet and it's been recalled by the FDA because it has caused chest pain and has many complaints. This decision by the FDA will kill people like me because I get a paradoxical reaction to Albuterol and Levalbuterol. They work completely different. Different drug. If I go to the emergency because I can't breathe, they save me with ephinephrine, the same drug that AsthmaNefrin is. And look in any drug book, Albuterol and Levalbuterol has worse side-effects than Epinephrine. I have to have my rescue inhaler with me everyday. The Primatene tablets are horrible, causing extreme anxiety and don't mix with my antidepressant. I was on cortisone for years...

why did they change tablets, where there harful?? ## From the limited information I can find, I am still seeing it listed as containing: 100mgs of Phenylbutazone (a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory): 200mgs of Methocarbamol (a muscle relaxant): and Dexamethasone (a corticosteroid): As to if it changed or why, I really do not have that information. From your listing the only thing that has changed is the nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory. The company may have changed it due to problems with it or complaints. Most of the post I'm reading are blasting the teva generic. I have tried core pharma's 30mg round pink tablets, and yes the ingredients are different between the two manufacturers, teva and core pharma. I've taken ADD medicine for six years and can tell you they are different. If it's hard for you to get up and get your day started try core pharma. If your up and in a slump and it's around 4pm take teva and you'll notice exactly what your supposed to notice. Teva is pure relaxation and focus where core pharma is harsh and cortisol inducing. Very hard to sleep on core pharma. Try taking half the tablet and be sure to eat good quality carbs with your ADD medicine. The body can't motivate without ample glucose.
