The doctor told me that i have seborrheic dermatitis. my skin was dry and peeling. but since i used it my skin is so better and beautiful. Does that mean that i have to use it for life time? ## How long you should use it, is really something that only your doctor can advise, since there are many different factors at play, such as your overall health, how much of it you're using, other medications you might be taking, and etc. Persivate is a topical steroid class medication, and it may cause side effects, such as skin redness, irritation, and a burning sensation. I've just been on prednisone treatment and I can't seem to shed the pounds I gained due to taking the steroids for a temporal diseased I suffered. I was wondering if taking Obleclox would help me feel less hungry and with a healthy diet and exercise be able to go back to my original weight. Does anyone know if taking this pill is safe? Thanks for your help!! ## Obeclox contains the active ingredient Clobenzorex, which is available in the U.S. only by prescription. There is no medication that is really safer than any other, they all come with risks and dangers. It can cause side effects, such as: nause...

pill expiration prednisone in hot humid weather

I have copd and take maintenance dose of ten. When I get serious attack I take s tapered dose of 20mg. I live on a boat in guatemala during the winter months. Its both hot and humid. They are a year old and don't seem to be working. I'm half way through this batch. I.have a new batch now. Should I start the new batch now? Thanks ## Yes, they can lose efficacy if exposed to such conditions, so it would likely be best to take the new supply. The typical side effects of Prednisone may include nausea, dizziness, headache, nervousness, anxiety, acne, and insomnia. My mother-in-law has to take it, once in awhile, for her severe asthma, and I always told her not to even keep it in our bathroom, so she now keeps all her medications in a cabinet in her bedroom. If it still doesn't he...

prednisone and ciprofloxacn

My doctor just prescribed two drugs for two different conditions, prednisone for severe poison ivy and ciprofloxacn for a urinary infection. After doing a bit of research, it is my understanding that prednisone should not be taken when there is an infection. Should I take them both? (Prednisone dosage: 5mg each tablet; 10 tablets daily for 2 days, reducing to 9/2days; 8/2days; 6/2days; 4/2days; 2/2days; 1/2days. Cipro dosage: 500 mg; 1 tablet twice daily for 14 days) ## You shouldn't take it if you have an active fungal infection that you are taking oral medications for, and it can make it easier for you to develop an infection, but it is fine to take if you're doctor has prescribed it for you, and is monitoring your condition regularly. The FDA lists the typical side effects of...

Prednisone and abrupt withdrawl

I have been on 15mg Prednisone now for 10 months and my team of specialists want me to quit cold turkey will this cause issues for me? I tried to reduce down to 13mg a while back but suffered severe back oain and confusion after only reducing by 2mg... ## Lani --- i don't think its a good idea to go off Prednisone cold turkey. Your adrenal system needs to adjust slowly -- reducing by 11/2 to 2 mg a week would be better until your down to 5 mg. Then you might be able to stop cold turkey. ## I actually agree but today they went ahead and did it anyway so I am no longer allowed to have any prednisone. My blood pressure has dropped and I tried to use a zimmer frame to walk with (because I was dizzy and light headed and the lower back pain was horrendous) and that was fine until I sat on...

Did I overdose on Prednisone?

I was prescribed Prednisone (60MG) 3x daily for 7 days and was supposed to take one every 8 hours 3x daily. But instead I took one every 4-5 hours unknowingly for 5 days...straight I stopped taking them after the 5th day. Because I got panic attacks and migraines. I've been off Prednisone for 5 days now and have been feeling the worst anxiety of my life...I cannot control it or calm myself down and I've been having physical weakness and extreme fatigue and stress. Should I be worried? ## You need to notify the prescribing doctor and explain exactly what has happened. When you start taking Prednisone, the body stops making cortisol on it's own. The two things you mention, headaches and panic, are side effects of the Prednisone. If Prednisone is not tapered down properly it ca...

Prednisone Drug Information

I have been prescribed prednisone 20mg. And am directed to take 2 tablets daily for 5 days. I am male and weigh 158lbs. Do I take 1 tablet every 12 hours or do I take the 2 tablets together each day as one? ## Although I would have your doctor confirm this - In most cases, the term "twice a day" usually refers to having one pill every 12 hours (morning and evening). I believe it is mainly to help keep the medication in your system for as long as possible, throughout the course of 24hrs. Are they extended-release capsules? I hope this helps! ## Can anyone suggest me an exercise to make my hip muscle strong? I am suffering from "Inward Knee Collapse". Prednisone affecting my 1-dose Methadone maintenance

Hello. I'm an addict in recovery, using the methadone maintenance as the way to wean off opiates. I currently take 1 95mg dose (methadone) in the morning, and I'm weaning down 2mg/month. I also have spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease and major lumbar pain. I take only Aleve for pain, as I'm told the methadone will not help me because I only take 1 single dose/day and not for pain management. I have had 2 surgeries on my back. A simple laminectomy, but my 2nd surgery was spinal fusion surgery. I have a metal cage in my lower back, but now; I need a 3rd surgery to repair the discs higher on my spine, as all the pain has returned and my very well-respected doctor highly suggests this. He ordered a series of steroidal epidural shots in my back. I did the 1st round of sho...

High doses of Prednisone for 3 1/2 months

I had to take high doses of prednisone for 3 1/2 months to breathe. I never took opioids with prednisone or in the physical condition I’m in after getting hit with the effects of 9/11 4-5 years ago. For the first time in my life I had extreme memory issues, and I think the time to worry is when it hits your finances which can make you very careful and you lose every single thing you put down especially if you just moved again since my house didn’t sell, it has been more than a nightmare and I am thrilled to see my neurologist tomorrow and ask many questions including the reasons I feel like a throwaway at the World Trade Center when no one cared to look when I lost 46 pounds in one month and instead of having skin hanging from the bottom of my own that hangs from where my bi...
