I have been taken meloxicam for a week for bursitis in my right hip. Since I started this med I have fallen on my spine. I then took meloxicam with alieve only 5 gels. Stopped when I was told that this was not right. Started taking Tylenol now. My question is will this amount of alieve be real serious? Also can meloxicam cause stomach area to swell. Seems like mine has. ## Hello, Mickey! How are you? Both the Meloxicam and the Aleve are nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories, so taking both is bascally doubling up on the same medication and your doctor may want to check your liver function, since you took both. The swelling could be due to fluid retention, which it can sometimes cause, so you also need to have that checked out by your doctor. Are there any other questions or concerns?

I used marijuana for one weekend to heal my shoulder bursitis. It kept the swelling and pain away while I rested and read books for the entire weekend. It seems that keeping the swelling down and resting the shoulder are key. The bursitis was almost gone by Monday morning and went away without a trace within a couple weeks.

I have bursitis in both hips. Some days I can hardly sit let alone lay down unless on my back. I have taken numerous OTC products to no avail. bursitis ## I have terrible pain in my knees so I consulted an orthopaedic and he has prescribed rotec t5 after an x'ray. I just want to know the side effects of this medicine and whether I should go for other tests? ## Arthrotec contains Diclofenac, which is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, and Misoprostol, which is used to help protect the stomach from the damage that the Dicolfenac could potentially cause. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, and increased risk of bleeding. It is often prescribed to help with such conditions, because it can reduce the inflammation that contributes to the pain these conditions can cause. I am taking the 6 dose pack for bursitis and am having side effects such as heart palpitations and shortness of breath, I keep having to take a deep breath in. is this normal or should I stop? I called primary and he said yes but orthopedic dr said this was normal side effect ## Hello, Jessie! How are you? The shortness of breath is concerning and if your primary told you to stop taking it, it would be best to trust their judgement. If you need a steroid to help reduce inflammation, there are others that you can try. The FDA lists the typical side effects as including symptoms, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, acne, palpitations and insomnia. Are you on any other medications?

I was given a script for zomax in 1983, for bursitis. It worked wonders with no side effects. A few months later my bursitis flared up. I still had my zomax, so I took one. Within a minute I new I was in trouble. I was alone with my 2 small children and my sisters 2 children. I called my parents and could barely speak. They got me to the hospital in less than 10 minutes from the time I called them. I was in anaphylactic shock, they had to give me a shot in my chest. I don't remember what else they did to me. I spent 3 days in the hospital. Just because you take something and have no problem, doesn't mean you won't develope an allergy to it later on. I didn't find out they took it off the market until sometime in the 90's. That's the closest to death I've ever...

I have diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis. I also have bursitis in my hips. Which is better to control the pain and which has less side effects - (Epleptin 300mg three times a day or Neurontin 300 mg)? ## All medications carry the risk of causing side effects, and there is no way to say which one will be the best to help any given person, since we are all different. However, regarding these two medications, both of them contain the same active ingredient, which is Gabapentin, so there is really no difference between them. The NIH lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, headache, dry mouth, dizziness, mood changes, and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with?

Filled at pharmacy on May 27, 2011. Are these still good to use for bursitis? ## Hi Maggie, Based on my research, you shouldn't take expired prescriptions. There is a reason that there is an expiration date on them. Not only do they LOSE most, if not all potency, the expired pills could surely affect your liver in a toxic way. Please post back if you have any more questions so I can further assist you!

I have nerve damage, shingles, fibromyalgia, Rheumatoid arthritis, bursitis, the list goes on and on! I can't have Lyrica, Cymbalta, or Gabapentin. They are not approved , and they continue to reject the approval no matter how many request are submitted. What can I do? ## I am sorry, who is that is not approving them for you? Your insurance company?? You are not very specific in your post, so it is a little confusion. If they are claiming that these drugs are not approved to treat these types of conditions, then that is incorrect because both Cymbalta and Lyrica are approved by the FDA to treat post-herpetic neuralgia. If you can give me an idea of the type of insurance you have, I can try to research their formulary to see what they will cover for you, so you can discuss other opti...

large white pill with G600 on it ## G 600 is 600 mg Motrin Ibuprofen ## I have arthritis, bursitis and tendinitis and all that ever helped was Motrin 600 [large white pill] I can not take ibuprofen. Is there any way that I can buy the Motrin 600? ## IS MOTRIN STILL MANUFACTURED? ## Yes, it is still available, by prescription, but if you can't take Ibuprofen then you cannot take Motrin, because Ibuprofen is the active ingredient in it.

I'm taking clonezapam (1 and a half) and 2 1/2 trazadone for sleep. Because I suffer from bursitis, I also take an Aleve. Will this harm my body? Thanks for your help ## Hello, Eileen! How are you? You shouldn't take the Trazodone with the Aleve, they increase the toxicity of each other, which could be dangerous. From what I can find, the only over the counter pain reliever you could take with it is Acetaminophen/Tylenol, so you may want to ask your doctor about taking it. Is there anything else I can help with?

Looking for a doc who will prescribe pain meds without too much fuss. I suffer from arthritis, bursitis and sciatica ## Hello, Lisa! How are you? I'm sorry that you're in pain. However, the days of doctors being able to prescribe like that are gone. Due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, if you require long-term, ongoing treatment for chronic pain, you'll need to see a specialist. The best thing to do would be to set yourself up with a new PCP and then have them refer you to someone. Can anyone suggest a good doctor in that area?

I've been taking 15 mg of Meloxicam once a day for about 2 weeks for bursitis. I'm also taking Tylenol approximately 2200 mg per day for pain. I've begun experiencing extreme dizziness just today when getting out of bed. I've notified my Dr. I didn't think and took today's dose of Meloxicam already. Is there anything I can do to help clear this medication out of my system? ## Hello Nana, Unfortunately I don't think there is anything you can do to metabolize the meloxicam any quicker without taking a different type of drug. There are no listed interactions with meloxicam and food or over the counter drugs that would increase the metabolism of your medication. A side note I wanted to let you know is that according to the National Institute of Health, dizziness ...

How are you doing? I'm glad that it's working for you. This medication is listed as containing the active ingredient Indomethacin, which can be very harsh on the stomach, so I strongly urge you to make sure you don't take it on an empty stomach. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and increased risk of bleeding. Hello all, I am looking for advice on tapering from tramadol. I have been prescribed tramadol for about 5 years now for chronic bursitis in my shoulder after 2 reconstructive surgeries. I take on average 6 50mg pills a day. I know it's an issue because I no longer take it solely for pain and find myself now taking it just to feel normal and keep away WDs that develop anytime I miss a dose. I've tried to stop before and the WDs are horrible. Mainly depression, insomnia and lack of energy are what gets me the most. I've developed a taper schedule that I'm beginning today. I am going to drop my daily dose by 50 mgs every 4 days until I reach 0, which will take just over 2 weeks. Is this taper schedule too rapid? I've tried other methods to quit (cold turkey was a nightm...
