Oxycodone 20 Mg K57 Vs Np14 (Top voted first)

Updated

I don't usually count the pills when I pick up my Rx. This time I did & felt a difference in the thickness. Some are marked NP on one side & K57 on one side & blank on the other. I'm assuming they're from different Mfg Co's but don't like to assume with my pain pills! Also, is it normal practice for Pharmacies to mix?

Can u please tell me wtf is the difference between the oxycodone 20mg imprint np 14 and the other one imprinted k57. I have read that the np 14 sucks and that ther is 20% less mecidine inside of it. That person was jus talklin a whole bunch of s*** abt it. But then again .... maybe he or she had a tolerance to pain pills in his or her body seeing as he/she stated "ivr been on pills for 25+ yers and this is bull s*** is it even legal to make a good pill worthless"

Does any one know if that is true ??? One phsrmacy i spoke to said that one of those two might have more medicine or less, he said: "just because it says 20mg doesnt meen that it is one might have 15% less or one might have 22%" is that tru?? Why is there TWO different manufactured companies? Does it mean that the np14 is the s*** one?? Can somone PLEASE ease my mind so i can stop thinking like that cause its mind over matter if you think something doesnt work and wont work you will summon that into reality and make it not wrk ... and i dont wanna go along with what ONE stupid person says..... than again i just have that feeling in my heart thst the k57 is bettr.... uh uh maybe im jus overreacting???

Sorry for the long ass annoying post but i want to be as clear as possible. Also does any one else feel like falling asleep hardcore too?? Is that a "high" or jus tiredness.... this is a somewhat new medication i am on, i used to get norcos and felt somthing in my body... so idk i feel weird. Again i apoligize for the long long post

Yes, these both contain 20mgs of Oxycodone in a regular release formulation and mixing can be normal, if your pharmacy doesn't have enough of one to fill your prescription. There is nothing wrong with it.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Is there anything else I can help with?

I was switched to oxycodone 20 mg 2 months ago. The first ones I got were the k 57, and I was amazed at how well they worked and how much better I felt overall. I had previously been on Norcos for daytime and Percocet for night, but they had to change it due to DEA regs and they put me on straight oxycodone. The next prescription I got were the np 14, and I felt like I was taking a completely different drug. It was as if it was half strength, and I felt depressed, so I'm actually glad to see someone ask this question. I KNEW I wasn't imagining it, but I thought maybe the batch I got was just old or something and had lost it's potency. So imho, the k 57 are much better, and I'm going to be asking the pharmacy when I get them filled which one they are going to use, because I'll look for the k 57 before I settle for the np 14 again. It's ridiculous to have that much difference.

They both work just the same it's all in your head when someone tells you different they both have same amount the np 14 is just ganaric form don't listen to what others say cause they are the same. It's all mind over matter and some Ppl can trick there brain to thinking ones better than the other but in reality they're the same. Good luck.

Not true junkies as you call them have no effect on the speed of the pharmacists that fills them lol. And you know not everyone that buys them on the street are junkies. Most people need them but can't afford the doctors or dont have insurance. All though there are a lot of people that give people like us a hard time by cause they want to abuse, its really sad and they need help but clinics to get off of pain med cost a lot of money and the meds to get you off opiates cost even more. Not only that but they can only have 100 suboxone patients at a time how's that for fighting a losing battle.

Everyone, you do realize that these things are very strictly regulated. Let's just say that I am familiar with the FDA who helps to monitor the manufacturing of all medications. ALL medications are monitored and ALL manufacturers are required to adhere to stringent standards. They would not jeopardize losing their license to under-dose a medication. People, please realize that drugs are tested. First, here is a link to help people better understand that you are protected from medications being stronger or weaker from different manufacturers:

http://www.fda.gov/Drugs/DevelopmentApprovalProcess/Manufacturing/ucm090016.htm

Below is the first paragraph from the above link:

" FDA ensures the quality of drug products by carefully monitoring drug manufacturers' compliance with its Current Good Manufacturing Practice (CGMP) regulations. The CGMP regulations for drugs contain minimum requirements for the methods, facilities, and controls used in manufacturing, processing, and packing of a drug product. The regulations make sure that a product is safe for use, and that it has the ingredients and strength it claims to have. "

True story. It's a never ending battle we're fighting without a doubt. And it's very true that not all people buying on the street are junkies. I am currently without insurance and can't even afford the visits yet alone too fill them ect. Many sleepless nights, the quality of life I'm currently living is something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemys. I'll wait till I'm in such pain I can't walk the dog or even get out of bed before I take anything and even then I'm only taking half of what I was prescribed. The prices on the streets are getting to were it's near impossible too be a pill head unless your rich lmao. I wish it was as simple as being a junky!? I could go to treatment or detox and life would be manageable. People are quick to judge and throw accusations about something they know nothing about. If they could go through even a couple days of what I've been dealing with for a few months now they'd be on the street asking friends what they can find as well.

You are wrong totally there is a huge difference between Manufactures please night and day A214 compared to k8 eat dust a214 I fall asleep in pain k8 pain is long gone and I'm out and about now I have kvk 20 they suck as well sleepy time still have pain. My suggestion would be kvk k8-k9 the 15s were and are great they don't make you feel doped just normal pain free and lots of energy

K 57 are not hydrocodone. They are 20 mg instant release oxycodone. Hydrocodone are the generic name for Vicodin. Which are one of the weakest form of pain medicine. Also containing 325 mg of Tylenol per pill. Oxycodone or roxicontin are for acute severe pain mostly for cancer patients. They are the most abused form of pain medicine.

You don't NEED suboxone or anything to get off opiates if you're a "junkie". Just someone you love who knows what you're going through while detoxing who will take care of you and some will power, maybe just move out of buying range completely, but it is possible. 100%

@Post #7,

Omg, first of all they're called oxycodone not hydrocodone. And who are you to call people Junkies? You don't deserve to have a ****ing computer, a cell phone or a tablet in front of you for you to type and post.

Peoples internal body chemistry makes a lot of difference in how a certain medicine will work. Do not freak out if given either brand K or the NP 14s. I've taken every brand out there and both of these worked very well. I was not disappointed at all with the NP 14s. Give them a chance.

Oxy is highly addicting even froma script of 60 if youre removed it can cause worhdarws sweats cold and hot flashes sleep deprivation ect... i recomend if you go this route from experience a disabled vet pending a neck and back surgery as well as lumbar aurger and 4 others that i was retired before they operated be cautious and start with a percocet then work up seriously if you take extended no matter the pain the withdraw with pain is something horrific. So keep it as low as tou can.

I have been taking 20 mg oxycodone for a year. The white pill. Now they gave me oxycodone small blue marked k 57 and they are horrible. They make me tired and are non effective. I think it may be a individual thing but there for sure is a differnt chemical makeup.

Do not get either NP or OP 20 or other strength. Those are garbage and have no narcotics. Get the oxy 20 k57 or the A 50. They are good generics.
Hope that helped u.

Still believe in the Tooth Fairy, as well? It's extremely naive to believe what the FDA says as 100%. What they publish for consumers is more or less their future goals -- where their best intentions would like to be, as far as consumer safety. Guidelines are not RULES and they're not FACTS, either. You have to understand if you're an adult in the world that in order to get something approved, a politician must convince constituents they NEED it to protect them from an awful, evil, scary, alternative. Now that makes the FDA and other such agencies more like advertisers than enforcers. But you had to know that, right? It's all about to be redundant, anyway, as Trump methodically goes thru eliminating all of our protective agencies one by one, along with a significant (altho small) amount of info and protections we actually do benefit from these agencies. Just remember in our nation, when protective agencies go up against money-making corporations, the protective agency will lose every time, even though it is made to appear like its winning. In this case, generic manufacturers can make so much more by cutting back on actual active ingredients in each tablet/pill, but they can make even more if they can just avoid having to set up the project which is to ensure consumer safety to begin with and also to maintain that level of protection. If they avoid having to create the infrastructure to check the pills and measure the actives --in other words, avoid creating and maintaining the checks and balances within the manufacturer that complies with FDA consumer safety rules, recommendations and so on.

How? They use politicians to steer the public eye and opinion to believe the manufacturers are all about ensuring their consumer public safety for the aspects of it that they believe really matter. They also use internet trolls to steer opinions. They're probably on this site, as well. Try this one on, the ones who are always dissing "junkies" and "drugseekers" etc., big swerve to public opinion as this makes the issue of shortages in each pain pill so unimportant to the law abiding, upstanding citizen. Trolls here tell us if we truly deserve our pain meds, we wont know so much about it. Which is exactly the opposite of what we know is true. If we truly hurt, we will learn as much about our health and our meds as possible. In the hospital I had signs all over my room and hallway urging patients to ask about the meds and question EVERYTHING I was given. Then, when a nurse tried to give me something I didn't know about and I inquired, I was treated like a criminal. We do this to our citizens and those like us. We are all bros and sisters and we must take responsibility for each other or else we will lose our own rights. Please, never show disrespect to another in pain, regardless if it's from cancer or drug addiction. We are all patients in need of medical care. Unfortunately, this mean society has taught us we are somehow better than others who cannot afford copays. We must eliminate racism, classism and healthcare discrimination in our time.

I think both NP14 & K57 are pretty good generics, especially if compared to low quality Rhodes pharm.'s garbage!! Those RP 20's feel about a strong as maybe a Percocet 5mg if even that much lol! Also amneal's A50 an qualitest V4994 Shouldn't be looked over, they're right up there with the best of em in my book.
