Adderall Manufactured By Teva Not Working (Page 35)

Updated

I have had two refills of Adderall 20 mg that was manufactured by Teva/barr (Teva) and it seems to have much less medication in each pill. Refills by another manufacturer work. This is ridiculous, and where do we report Teva and who can check each pill for amount for medication? I would gladly donate some of my worthless ones to the FDA?

Can I ask what the fatal culprit was you are dealing with that negated the effects of your adderall? What about mydayis apart from heart burn made it different than normal brand xr?

Yes I smoke like a chimney on auro 30 mg ir twice daily. I break them in half and take it four times throughout the day. Was the same way with Teva five years ago when I first started smoking though. Wish i never started. Auro has been the strongest & best adderall for me but recently had horrible batches. Realistically too strong but nothing else kicks me in the butt and makes me enjoy working and being focused like auro. Now because of the bad batch I received which has left me a motionless cloudy zombie, I'm seriously contemplating trying mydayis. I just want to have consistency without being too speedy. Just clarity, energy, with the ability to be social, like I used to be the first few years when I was on Teva ir back in 2012-2014.

Heartburn is off the chart. Never had heartburn. Nothing gets rid of the heartburn. Horrible.

My old Barr generic works very well. It is 2 years old. The new Teva is pure junk. I experimented and found this to be true:

1. There is a completely different "feel" to the Teva.
2. Teva varies from pill to pill.
3. Teva varies batch to batch.
4. If I take my "daily" dose using 3 -Teva 15mg, it feels entirely different than if I take my daily dose using 4 1/2 Teva 10mg, for my total of 45 mg, daily. (how could this be if all amphs. are made to the "same specs" ?)
5. There is a lot of bs-ing going on by the manufacturers.
6. It is being allowed to go on....indefinitely. (Search and see just how long people have been complaining of this)
7. The FDA does not care,...one bit.

Now, did you know that a lot of the FDA management gain lucrative employment from the pharmaceutical companies once they leave the FDA? So really, just how much "enforcement" do you think they are doing? Sort of like politicians becoming lobbyists after they leave their cush govt. job. Exactly who...do you think they were looking out for while they were in their govt job? Themselves and their cronies (lucrative, prospective future employers and campaign donors)... or the average citizen? There is only 1 correct answer, folks.

I reported them to the FDA for their 30mg. IR Adderall. Also their Zolpidem.

Re: Jesse (# 680) Expand Referenced Message

Sandoz xr are legit. Not great but at least consistent. Sometimes some pills from some Teva batches are legit, but it’s insane how much it varies. Even from pill to pill in the same batch. WTF?! This is gov’t controlled psychotropic medication. Totally f***ed.

Re: Jesse (# 680) Expand Referenced Message

I was on auro IR and I went onto Sandoz XR the month I needed to fill a different script because of the fake bottle of TEVA I was given. I can’t compare to auro XR because I wasn’t on it, but Sandoz XR is legit, and I didn’t have any side-effects with it. The first day surprised me though, just the difference between XR and IR. I prefer the flexibility I have with IR.

Sandoz XR are decent, however their IR's aren't what they used to be. Sandoz IR's seemingly disappeared from pharmacies the last 2 years, but appear to be back at Costco's. These new Sandoz IR's are weak, offer no benefits to focus or mood elevation, and somehow cause me more anxiety than even Aurobindo did.
Not sure what has happened to Sandoz, as they used to be a great generic. But my last 2 fills with their product have been disappointing to say the least.
I'm going back to Mylan as they are (for me) the most consistent and effective Adderall generic on the market currently.

2 months ago refilled 30 mg x 2 day IR Sandoz. Did not work as well as previous months, but better than the month with the Teva which didn’t work at all. This month back on Mylan (Mylan last year used to cause me severe anxiety when the med started to wear off, but it worked well) works better than the genetics from previous two months and no anxiety, but efficacy still an issue plus the med lasts only 2-3 hours. It has been such a struggle in the 6-8 months to obtain an adequate generic to manage my symptoms and affecting every aspect of my life. Just prescribed Mydayis. Has anyone tried this medication? If so, what was your response to the medication? How long did the medication last after taking it? I know it takes 2 hours for it start to work after taking it.

Sandoz did not discontinue 20mg IR adderall tablets.

Sandoz has confirmed to all its contracted distributors (Cardinal, McKesson, etc.) that their 20mg IR Adderal Tablets will be in stock and ready to ship the week of June 11. (Next week).

Now... as to when the adderall tabs arrive to your local pharmacy and you can get your script filled all depends on:

(1) how fast your pharmacy’s distributor places their order and then,

(2) how promptly your pharmacist orders Sandoz 20mg adderal tabs.

If you want to ensure you get your Sandoz 20mg tabs filled asap, bring your script in early next week and ask your pharmacist to place the order. Unless Sandoz is the default generic ordered, they won’t order unless they are in possession of your script.

I hope this info helps. I didn’t have time to flip through all 35 pages of this thread, so apologies if I posted old news.

Save your time and go with a different brand. Sandoz is not what it used to be a few years ago and now just makes me lethargic and panicky. I've had decent luck with Teva in the past, but when my pharmacy switched to Mylan I was pleasantly surprised by how well it worked. I've been filling Mylan for over a year now with no bad experiences (knock on wood).

Hi,I was on the Mylan brand 15mg IR last month and it did nothing for me but make me anxious and irritable.I requested Teva for this month and although I’m not nearly as anxious or irritated I still have no ability to accomplish anything.I’m beyond frustrated at what’s going on with these generics.

I feel like a basketcase on the Mydaysis 37.5 mg. Day #3. My brain is inundated with thoughts and definite lack of focus as well as poor attention span. Couldn’t sleep last night until 1 or 2 in the morning. A toddler probably has more of an attention span than I do right now. Horrible anxiety within a couple hours of taking it, but the anxiety goes away several hours later. I’ve been on different brands of ADHD medication for 16 years. It’s been 16 years since I’ve struggled like this and it’s awful. When the medication works, my life is manageable.

Count me in. I've had enough of the worthless crap I've been getting from Teva for way too long now. Out of desperation to understand what was happening I've even requested a non-adhd adult try two of my 20mg IR to guinea pig it for me hoping it would give give me some insight as to whether it was me or the product. It certainly did. They said if they felt anything at all it was similar to caffeine from coffee or Exedrine. Please give me some feedback on what we can do about this. I have already filed complaint with the FDA. It's extremely frustrating because after doing that we have no idea if it's going to be productive or even amount to anything. I'll greatly appreciate anyone's advice on Alternate mfg. that are available and where I might be able to get those in Colorado.
Signed,
In the boat too

I also reported them and made an official complaint.
My generic Adderall is placebo no doubt. I told Teva how awful it was messing with peoples lives like this. This company is the first I’ve had any problem with. I’m hoping they will be investigated and shut down!!

I completely agree. I've been taking Teva 20mg IR ever since the "shortage" around 2012. I personally don't have a lot of bad side effects from them but that is because I have no effect from them. Zero. Like you said...they are like a placebo. I would like to see how much longer they're allowed to use the vast majority of the patients who are prescribed generic adderall as their control group. Teva has literally given the term "control group" to a whole new meaning. Combine the % closeminded, outdated docs with the % of pharmacists protecting their ego instead of the patients and you've got yourself an army of pharma puppets working for companies like Teva. There are fortunately excellent doctors and pharmacists out there. Unfortunately, they are not as abundant as the puppets. It's a system designed to fail the patient and profit from those very failures. From what I've read and heard the only people we really have to protect us....is us. I have yet to see the FDA take measures that build my confidence. I am hopeful though that together we can prove"there is strength in numbers". This has gone on for way too long.

Here it is, 2018, and TEVA's version of Adderall is still being complained about. I'm on 20 mg IR, 3x/day. I had been getting my prescriptions filled at a Walmart, but 5 days ago, I got a new script, and Walmart's pharmacy was about to close, so I took it to Walgreens instead. Got the medicine, went home, noticed it was a different manufacturer, took it anyway. The following day, I woke up with painful, red, swollen, pus-filled welts all over my face, breasts, and upper legs. I also noticed that my anxiety was through the roof, AND I was struggling to stay awake (I take this for Narcolepsy). Next day, had welts so painful on my tongue that I had to chew ice all day in order to stay sane, and more welts were appearing, plus I had a fever. Today, I contacted my pharmacy and my doctor to see what my options were; my sleep specialist is now demanding that I stop taking this TEVA medicine, and has me coming in to see her tomorrow because she's worried about my symptoms being similar to SJS. (I'm sure I'm fine--I just am not cool with this brand of medicine, and want to go back to whatever manufacturer my local Walmart uses.) So yeah, this experience has taught me to stay FAR, FAR away from TEVA's brand of ANY medication.

Re: Amethyst (# 698) Expand Referenced Message

I also take the ineffective generic adderall mfg. by Teva. (20mg IR) Walgreens started filling my scripts with the Teva brand during what I like to call the "Adderall Prohibition". Based on my research (which is ongoing due to vast & contradictory info. on this subject) I see endless complaints dating back from 2011-12 to current regarding the ineffectiveness & inconsistency of quality with generic Adderall IR. I too, have filed a complaint with the FDA as I've seen hundreds have done before me. Yet, despite these complaints from all over the nation being reported to the FDA for YEARS now there has been no action from the FDA and absolutely no steps taken whatsoever to address and correct the problem. To date, correct me if I'm wrong...there is not a single "authorized generic" available for Adderall IR according to the FDA list of Authorized Generics. Adderall XR however has an A.G. avail. from Shire. Whom I think it's safe to say we all wish were still mgf. IR as well.

From what I've read, the mfg. of generic Adderall IR is NOT regulated as I believe the term "regulated" is supposed to mean. It is not monitored regularly to ensure the product being dispensed to patients is satisfactory on therapeutic levels. Even with the allowance of % differences between brand name & generic there should NOT be a difference in effectiveness that compares to one taking Morphine vs. a multivitamin to treat severe pain.

For those of you that want to pitch in here with your theories of tolerance being the problem. Please, give me a break while you go away. I was diagnosed at 10 yrs. old with ADHD. I have tried every medication available through the years and I have taken Adderall well over 15+ years. It has always been consistently effective for me until the past few years when it has become more and more inconsistent and most frequently completely ineffective. If it was an issue of tolerance, it would have come years and years ago. Especially given that I have a naturally high tolerance to everything. I have yet to have general anesthesia for a surgery that I don't wake up mid-way through the procedure. I know my body and it is NOT tolerance.

I know I am not the only one fed the F up with this bulls*** & no one standing up for our rights and our health concerns. The FDA sure isn't doing anything about it. The doctors and pharmacists aren't joining together to do anything about it. So who do we go to for help??? On the FDA website it defines the other gov't agencies and what they are responsible for overseeing also. The DEA states it "works to enforce the controlled substances laws & regulations of the United States". Including "the manufacturing, distribution, and dispensing of legally produced controlled substances." Really??? That's news to me because all I've seen is the DEA concerned with preventing chronic pain sufferers adequate relief from the diseases they suffer from. When did it become their right to act like drug counselors or speak for the people with chronic pain resulting from proven, documented diseases??? How about some of that focus be put on mfg's like TEVA??? How about we, the patients become a priority and these goons that manufacturer generic drugs actually be regulated and be held accountable?

What can we do to stop the neglect and complete lack of care that is affecting the quality of our daily lives? Please, give me your feedback. Let's band together and make it happen!

Teva is horrible. I took CorePharma generic for years with much success and no issues. I was devastated when I discovered the company sold out to Impax and they are no longer manufacturing generic Adderall tablets. I swear Teva is a sugar pill. It tastes so sweet and I can sleep for hours after taking a 30 mg tablet. Teva makes gives me major mental fog, dehydration, dry eyes and sinus pain. I hate it, I must find an alternative.
