Forteo makes me fat and sad

I've been on Forteo for almost 2 full months. I have been fighting weight gain and losing the fight. I've done juicing, low carb/high fat, and now I'm doing weight watchers with intermittent fasting. Why does the a Forteo literature tell about weight loss but not weight gain? It is obviously an ongoing problem from what I read from other users. In addition to the weight issues, I get very hot and sweaty for several hours and most nights only sleep a couple of hours. I'm depressed and fatigued like apparently most others on Forteo. I've been trying to snap out of it but thinking about asking for some medication for that too. I'm 58 and a lot of these symptoms are common for menopausal/ post- menopausal women, but it's strange it all seemed to just start now. I...

Alendronate and muscle pain

Had muscle pain for 2 years and 10 drs didn't check the side effects of alendronate. I'm off it 7 months and still have muscle pain. Does anyone know how long it takes? ## side effects from alendronate?Mine is muscle atrophy. ## Hello, Ann! I am very sorry about what you experienced. These medications really do a number on some people that take them. Has your doctor ruled out any other possible cause for the muscle pain? While it can be a side effect of this medication, if you stopped it 7 months ago, there should be some improvement by now. The FDA lists its other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and stomach pain. Ref: Alendronate Information Are you on any other medications?

Alendronate generic Fosamax 70mg

Hello, been on Alendronate 70mg 4 weeks. Stopped taking it two weeks ago. Chiro told me his father fractured vertebrae. All I have read is negative feedback about this drug. Is there any positive feedback on this website about it? Has anyone taken this with good results? ## Hi, Ev! How are you? The thing you have to remember when reading experiences, and reviews online is that most people don't go looking online for a site like this, unless they've had a bad experience. There are many that take a medication without problems, but they don't look for a site like this to find more information, or see if other's have had similar experiences. That said, you are correct in that most of them regarding Fosamax are negative, many people experience problematic side effects, and ha...

I have been on Tymlos for 12 months. Over the last few months I am having problems with high blood sugars and a high A1C. I have never had a problem with this before. I am wondering if anyone else has had this issue before? My doctor put me on medication for pre-diabetes. ## Hello. I had blood work done and my Dr is saying I have high blood sugars and A1C. He put me on Metformin! I have never had diabetes! ## Elevated blood sugars are not listed as a known side effect of Tymlos. Typically, the FDA warns that it may cause nausea, dizziness, headache, and palpitations. Ref: Tymlos Information DIabetes, and PreDiabetes can develop at any age, but making some ...

I had my infusion Mar 4 2015. I have experienced severe stomach pains, leg pains that wake me up at night, a horrible dry cough, near migraine type headaches, very severe weakness, trouble walking, constipation, had to have dental work that I usually have great teeth, some trouble sleeping. My rheumatologist did nothing to try to help me with the symptoms but my primary doctor gave me medication that help with the stomach pains, take Excedrin for Migraines and enteric aspirin for back and body, and other meds to try and find some comfort. I'm somewhat better than the few weeks after the infusion but still have a lot of problems. Hopefully this doesn't last for 6 months. ## Hello, Shirl! How are you? I'm so sorry about what you're going through. Everything you've list...

Prolia Loss of Taste and Smell

I have been taking Prolia injections for 2 years now. Over time, I've noticed that my sense of taste and smell has diminished. As of 6 months ago, I have totally lost the ability to taste anything sweet. Desserts of any kind taste bitter to me. I have also been on Levothyroxine (Synthoid) for a few years prior to starting the Prolia, but the loss of taste and smell has been significantly worse since I started the Prolia injections. Has anyone else experienced taste and smell issues taking Prolia? ## Yes I haven't any taste. Feel a little hungry. Then no taste and don't want it. Also my shoulders are really hurting, then goes to my head. I have several health problems but I know my body. Was not a candidate for Prolia at all and I would not take it again. Best of luck to you ...

Getting ready to take a Prolia shot

My Oncologist wants me to start Prolia injections in june but my regular doctor is concerned because I take Benacar for high blood pressure and says that Benacar can cause kidney problems and is worried about me taking Prolia as it can cause kidney problems and since i have had kidney failure in the past it could cause me more problems. Should I take Prolia or not? Just wondering. I also need some teeth pulled before I get the shot. I had breast cancer 5 years ago and did Chemo Radiation and had surgery to remove the breast. I am 61 years old. Please give me some insight. ## If possible, it would be good to get these two doctors to discuss it, together, so they can mutually decide what would be best for you.
