I am currently taking gildex fe 120. After the 7th day's dose i was intimate with my boyfriend. Am I safe from being pregnant? I know my doctor said im covered after i took the 7th pill if i started taking it on my period. Just a little nervous. ## Hello, Tawnne! How are you? Yes, it you started it the first or second day of your period, then you'd be protected immediately, so there shouldn't be anything to worry about. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, PMS-like symptoms and irritability. Is there anything else I can help with?

My pharmacy switched me to Gildess and within 2 months I have gained 15 pounds along with having an almost constant painful, itchy rash on my outer labia (no yeast). I'm also exhausted by 6pm every night and have a RAVENOUS appetite on this drug. I can't stop the BC pill because I use it to control my endometriosis. I switch back to another pill of the same hormonal dosage, just a different brand this weekend and am praying that when I start this brand this Sunday all of this goes away!!! ## Hello, Tuwa! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem that you're having. While the FDA lists the others as being possible side effects of oral contraceptives, the rash isn't normal and is something you should have checked out by your doctor. It might be something that requi...

I have been on Gildess 1/20 for 5 months and have had some break through bleeding in the beginning but it went away. I have had bad cramping on my period and in the middle of my pack. I typically take my pill in the morning around 9:00am but last saturday I forgot and took it at 10:00pm but I had already started to bleed by 9:00pm. Its now friday its been a week and I am still bleeding bad. Enough to wear a pad. Its aways worse in the morning and gets less at night. However my cramps are constant. I have no idea what to do? Or whats wrong? Could missing one pill by a couple of hours do this? ## Hello, Kayla! How are you? I am very sorry about the problems that you're having. It really doesn't sound like this is the right OC for you to take. You should most likely try a different...

I will be starting Gilenya in May. I have a 3 month washout period from Tysabri. I will be on Copaxone for 2 months. I was wondering how long it took to start Gilenya from the time they put the paperwork in. The nurse said must have aall the prereqisites done foirst not more than 1 month before and they will put paper work in 2 weeks before i am to start. Does this sound right. Thanks laurie f ## Gilenya contains the active ingredient Fingolimid, it is used to treat relapsing MS. It may cause some problematic side effects, such as: slow heart rate, headache, head cold and fatigue. As to the paperwork, the pre-requisites are actually more to do with your insurance/coverage than anything else, so I am afraid that I don't know anything about that. This medication has been FDA approved,...

I've been on Gildess for months and decided to skip my period for vacation. Mission accomplished, but with the occasional missed pill, today I've developed spotting. I'm only 2 weeks into my pack. What should I do? ## Hello, Krissy! How are you? Unless your doctor instructs otherwise, you should continue taking them as normal. Missing tablets can disrupt your hormonal balance and cause spotting. It may take a couple weeks for things to balance back out. The FDA lists the other possible side effects of oral contraceptives as including nausea, dizziness, headache, weight changes and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?

Iam a type-2 diabetic for the past 10 years taking insulin 15 - 15. 3 Years back I was d diagonised with fatty liver and my bilirubin count is around 2 +/- .5. LFT confirms I do not have Hepat, a, b c d or e. My sgot & sgpt are also slightly high. Doctor (endo-crynologist) opined that the bilirubin may be with me for the past few years, or is gilberts syndrom. He has priscribed Urosocol-450 1 in the morning and evening for 1 month and do check up again. Revently I came to know that type-2 diabetics can be cured with a sucess chance of 95%, if you are suffering type-2 diabetics for the past 10-15 years and if you are under 60 years through keyhole surgery. YOUR EXPERT COMMENTS PLEASE. ## I was diagnosed with pre diabetes and MRI found I had fatty liver also a few months before.i didn...

My doctor gave me a perscription for ciprofloxin for a uti. I am on gildess fe 1/20 birth control and i am afraid the cipro will make my birth control less effective. I have been seeing mixed reviews so i need help please! ## Hi, Mandy! How are you? Yes, there is a chance that it could alter the efficacy of your contraceptive. This antibiotic can sometimes cause your liver to not process/absorb as much of the estrogen in them, which makes them less effective at preventing pregnancy. Learn more Cipro details here. Thus, it is best to use a backup form of protection while you are taking it and for 7 days afterwards. Is there anything else I can help with?
