Estradiol and Food Allergies

Hi. I've been taking Estradiol 10mg internally twice a week for three and half months now. It's helped with vaginal dryness and feeling a bit down and night sweats, but at the same time I had three blood tests done for my hormone levels at three different times. I'm on my cycle and they all came back as normal, but still I felt better taking this. However, in the last 6 weeks I've been having horrific anaphylactic reactions to foods I would normally eat and have found out that I'm allergic to most things like wheat, yeast, beef, diary and eggs and peanuts! Which I've always eaten without issues, I'm taking three priritize a day and waiting to be seen at Cambridge allergy hospital in October. I'm also suffering from a swollen throat, like raised glands and...

May I know the purpose & benefits of these tablets? ## What is Estradiol ## What does your 1MG estradiol tablet look like ## Yes, this is a form of Estrogen, which is a vital hormone to the female menstrual cycle and overall health. The NIH lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irregular bleeding, and headache. Linda, what are the markings on the tablet in question? I have been using it for months and am just unsure of how much I should be taking and when migh...

if i start new pack of femilon a saturday do need to finish the friday first week

Hi, I have just started my new pack of Femilon on a Saturday after a period of break from the pill. When I finished this pack should I go back after the 3 week to the Mon-Friday pills to finish the pack on a Friday so as to use all 21 tablets? Then when should I start the next pack and on which day? ## There is nothing in the tablets that tells them what day of the week you're taking them, so you can actually take any of the active tablets on any day of the week, regardless of what's marked on the pack. Those are just there to try to help women remember to take a tablet each day, so they don't miss any. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Hi, I would like to start femilon tablets again. I used to have it before my first child. I would like to know what is the process ...

Small Blue Oval Pill I998 or I988 with split between the letter and number

Small Blue Oval Pill I998 or I988 with split between the letter and number. Anyone know what this is? ## Hi John, I located an oval blue/purplish pill with the imprint "b 886 1". The "b" is on one side and on the other side is "886" and "1" separated by a score line. Looking at the pill upside down shows the imprint as "1" "988"; which is what you described. This pill is identified as Estradiol (1 mg); which is used in the treatment of postmenopausal symptoms; atrophic vaginitis; osteoporosis; prostate cancer; oophorectomy; and more. For verification, the National Drug Code (NDC) is: 00555-0886 Could this possibly be a match? ## doctor have gave me this estradiol for my nite sweat n hot flashes I'm worried it may give me cancer I have ...

estradiol 1 mg watson 487

I have been taking this pill for about 10 yrs. I refilled my prescription and suddenly I am experiencing hot flashes and sleeping problems (laying awake for hours). Costco says it is the same manufacturer as before (Watson). I am wondering if "bad batches" have been reported lately. My last refill prior to this one was 90 days ago and I had no problems with that refill. My pharmacist says there is no reason and they have not had anyone complain. Are there any recent complaints regarding this manufacturer? ## Hello, Cher! How are you? I'm sorry about the problems you're having. No, I've not read any reports of such. However, after 10 years, it could be that it just isn't working for you in this dosage, anymore. Our bodies do tend to get used to anything we take fo...

EST Estrgn Methtest .625/1.25 mg

I am a 42 yr old woman and had a complete hysterectomy in October 2008. Within 1 year of my surgery, I began experiencing extreme hair loss. This November, my doctor prescribed EST ESTRN METHTEST .625/1.25 mg (in addition to the ESTRADIOL .5mg that I was already taking) to help reduce the hair loss. I was wondering if this medication is used for this purpose (as well as it's other benefits)? My mother is a breast cancer survivor (2009) & I am concerned about increasing my chances, by taking all these medications. Is it safe, or should I just accept my balding? ## This medication is a combination of Esterified Estrogens and Methyltestosterone, they are used for hormone replacement, to help with the symptoms of menopause or a deficiency in these hormones. Thus, yes, if the hair lo...

Does estradiol help with weight loss?

I started back on .5 estradiol. I have not been on it for a year and 1/2 and I have gained a lot of weight. I started on supplements that helped me to feel better so I thought I could go off estradiol. It’s so weird cause I thought I would lose weight going off of it and I keep gaining. I eat clean, exercise daily and drink only water. I started back up yesterday so I’m hoping it will help me take some of this weight off. Has anyone heard of weight loss when on estradiol? ## Are you perimenopausal, or post menopausal? If so, these conditions can cause some weight gain, regardless of what medication you take, your diet, or exercise, this is well documented in NIH studies. It is a well known fact that most middle aged women tend to gain weight and develop a paunch in the midse...

Ethinyl Estradiol Levonorgestrel Ferrous Fumarate

i had unprotected sex with my bf and morning after we had sex i take a pill that is Ethinyl Estradiol Levonorgestrel Ferrous Fumarate. i was concerns pills effectiveness. is it ok to take a pill after we had sex is the pills effective enough to protect me from getting pregnant? ## That really depends on what type of pill it is, you didn't specify the dosage amount or how many you took. If you are talking about a pill that is just supposed to be used as a regular contraceptive, then no, taking one after having sex, will not prevent pregnancy. However, if it is a higher dose tablet or you had to take several, because it is intended to be one of the morning after pills, then yes, it could prevent pregnancy. One way to tell is whether or not you started your period, after taking it, bec...

Angeliq (Drospirenone/Estradiol) Hormone tablets

I am in my late forties, for the last 3 months my period has been so heavy that I can't go to work. I am messing up my self, bedding, etc. I need to know whether angelique would help me? ## Unfortunately, since I have no way of knowing what is causing your problem, I really can't answer that question. Angelique is a form of hormone replacement therapy, that contains Estradiol and Drospirenone and as such, there are some conditions it can help with, but it is not appropriate to treat everything. Have you consulted a doctor? Hormones are only going to be appropriate, if your condition is caused by a lack of the ones this medication contains. If it is caused by something else, such as ovarian cysts, then you would need the treatment appropriate to treat them. ## I 've been havi...

Cannot afford Estradiol patch or Progesterone cap

I cannot possibly afford the monthly price through my Pharmacy at Publix at Hobe Sound, Florida 33455. I am retired on a limited budget, and and hoping I can get help in the form of a discount coupon. My current physician's name is Dr. Laurie Rothman, MD located in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida 33410. My insurance will not cover the .0375 Estadiol Transdermal system, nor the progesterone 100mg cap vir. The monthly price of both are way above my ability to afford. I am hopeful for any help or advice. I am a retired teacher after 34+ years with the Palm Beach County School District in Palm Beach County, Florida. ## Hi Carol - Sorry to hear about challenges with the cost of your meds. dog ate one estradiol

My 65 pound ate one. 5mg estradiol will it hurt het ## Dear cheese, I would call the Vet, right away. ## @Cheese, Sorry to hear about your dog getting ahold of birth control. I'd imagine that must've been an awkward experience wondering how the dog might react in that moment lol. Although I see you posted this back in May, earlier this year. Do you have any feedback on the status of your dog now? To summarize my own investigation/research on the topic, the levels of toxicity for estrogen are not often reached via the ingestion of contraceptive pills, and is reported to be at dosages greater than 1 mg/kg of body weight. And please correct me if I'm wrong, but this means that a 25lb dog would need to consume quite a few of these pills for a toxic effect. So if I understand tha...

norgestimate-eth estradiol

Hi, i have recently been prescribed norgestimate eth-estradiol and i have never taken BCP, so i am confused about when to start because its already been 10 days after my last period. ## You can start them at any time, however, if they aren't started on the first day of your menstrual cycle, then you will need to use additional protection for the first 7 days, before they will become effective at preventing pregnancy. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I'm taking Tri-Linyah (ethinyl estradiol + norgestimate). Do I continue to take the inactive pills after my period has started?

Estradiol after Hysterectomy (partial to full)

I am a 41 y/o woman who has had a complete hysterectomy. I am currently taking Estradiol in a low dosage (small pink pill) and have only been taking it for about 3 weeks now. I still don't feel right. I feel like mentally, I'm cloudy and not able to focus. I have been having some trouble sleeping recently too. Also, I'm irritable, and have been having hot flashes something bad. My question is, do you think I would benefit from having the dosage raised a little, or should I wait and see another week. I am also having symptoms similar to an anxiety attack, pretty regularly. Please tell me if I should try another form of estrogen, or wait and see how this will go. ## I am very sorry about what you're experiencing. You should have yourself checked out, you may need a dosage ...

estradiol gluten free

Is Estradiol made by Barr gluten free? ## Hello, Pam! How are you? What are the markings on it? I'm sorry, but without this information, I can't check the inactive ingredients for you. Sometimes what's listed by the pharmacy is just a licensed distributor, not the actual manufacturer. Can you please post back with this additional information? Thanks! The FDA classifies this as a hormonal supplement and lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and PMS like symptoms. ## I have the same medication question.
