who or what Dr. can write a referral to a pain clinic in knoxville, tn? ## Hello, Angela! How are you? Really, any doctor that has documented why you're in pain can write one. Though generally, it is expected to come from your PCP, since they are the ones most familiar with your medical history. Do you currently have a PCP that you see regularly? If so, having them refer you to someone would be the best thing to do. Can anyone recommend a good doctor in that area? ...

i need to find a walk in clinic right away for pain medication ## Hello, Jeff! How are you doing? I'm very sorry that you're in pain. However, such clinics no longer exist. Due to increasing rates of abuse, as well as improper prescribing and over prescribing, strict regulations have been put in place regarding the prescribing of such medications. If you require fast pain relief, you can try going to an ER, or you will need to wait and see your regular doctor, so they can advise you on what to do next, such as seeing a specialist. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I'm sorry, but I think it's sad that we have to go through all these hoops & suffer from severe pain when I know people get these pain meds just to sell them cause they don't need them! Where is a good doctor in GA that will accept out of state patients? ## Hello, Sick! How are you doing? Sorry that you're in pain and suffering. However, finding a doctor that will accept out of state patients isn't something that's likely to happen. Due to the new regulations that were put in place this year, doctors have to be even more careful about prescribing medications and most now require that their patients live within a certain radius of their office. And even if you did get a doctor to prescribe, most pharmacies won't fill it if you and your doctor aren't both located within a certain radius of their store. i have been having trouble getting a good dr who will write oxycodone 30 mg. my back has been broken before and i was going all the way to Florida (a 16 hour drive) just to get my meds. So if anybody knows of any it would be helpful. i live in KY so as long as it is closer that's fine. Thank you. ## Well, the main problem is really when you go in and ask for a specific medication, in a specific dosage. Many doctors will look at this as drug seeking behavior. Whenever you see a new doctor, you need to make certain that you don't demand specific treatment, but you do want to take your medical records with you, or see that copies are sent to them. That way, they can see what has and hasn't worked for you in the past, plus they can see the results from any prior tests you've... ...
