Need To Find A Doctor That Prescribes Pain Meds In Knoxville Tn (Page 13)

I just moved here and i have ra along with degenerative disc disorder that is extremely painful. I dont have a doc. so i haven't been taking any meds and it is hard to just walk. I am in pain everyday and need relief fast. Is there anyone y'all can suggest that may be able to help now?

@john Elrichman- At last, a person that parallels my situation, knowledge of the medications and honesty that the Margis of this planet are our biggest stumbling blocks!! I too am LIVING thanks to Methadone, PAIN FREE AND THANKFULLY BUZZ FREE!! You took all the thoughts and words right out of my mouth!!!!

The Ass with "EXTRA PILLS" is not a legitimate patient. She is a drug dealer no different than a crack house or a cartel member is. She is there offering to make a living off of others misery, sound about right???

I think what all of us need to do, including myself, is quit bashing whatever drug formulary works for someone else. Everyone is different and all our conditions ARE unique. Posting words about someone's lifesaving medicine in a negative way doesn't help ANYBODY. I constantly see posts here like need Doctor in Nashville, Knoxville, etc. that prescribes a certain medication. It's pointless because NOBODY can get what has worked for them anymore. Our best chance to CHANGE THIS INSANITY is to write our lawmakers and sign up to websites that are trying to make a change. I know we are all still miserable, depressed and we ARE going to lose more people to suicides but our DEA is blocking the doctors. It is a GOVERNMENT CONTROLLED PROBLEM!!!

Oxycodone is what is in percocet . They make oxycodone that does not have tylenol in it they make a 15mg, 20mg, and a 30 mg. Anything that is 10mg or under has tylenol in it.

I have been going to haggerty in maryville for 5 years. Yes I work got called they left a message to call back. So I did know one would return my call.next week got a letter saying I was kicked out.for what I done nothing wrong.I liked that place but just don't know what I done

Can you tell the name of the clinic? I live near Knoxville and my family doc give me 4 Percocet 10/325 a day, been on them for 4 yrs and they don't work now but my doc won't change my meds.

Amen to that..it seems like theyre afraid we'll kill ourselves or something. All I want is to try to have a better life for myself and my family. If my pain is under control, I can do more..so I can take better care of myself first, and then my family. This helps everyone.

I was a patient at Tennova Pain Center in Knoxville, TN, for almost 10 years. I have a Traumatic Neuroma, a slow growing brain tumor (non cancerous), that developed when a dentist injected me with a nerve block for dental surgery, severed my cranial nerve and didn't tell me. The next day the rough of my mouth turned black and blistered and the pain was unbearable. A painful lump appeared in the top of my mouth and my upper teeth began to rot from the inside out from the severed nerve, and began to break off and fall out. He told me it looked like a nerve infection ( never heard of that) scleroderma or connective tissue disorder. I was sent to numerous Specialists; the last was a Rheumatologist names Dr. Namey, who said I had Graves Disease and needed surgery to cut the fat packets off the back of my eyes.He completely ignored the pain coming from above my mouth and even cancelled an appt. with a pain Mgmt Doc, my Dentist referred me to. I do have a thyroid condition but I have Hasimotos disease, diagnosed by a Endocrinologist. After 16 months of being ignored. I went to a walk in clinic, and the Doc ordered and MRI and biopsy of the lump that had grown in the top of my mouth. The biopsy came back showing a traumatic Neuroma, a benign tumor that grows out of a nerve stump from a severed nerve damaged from a nerve block a dentist injected for dental surgery. It is a 5th degree nerve injury on The Sunderland chart, called neurotmesis, the worst damage that completely severed the nerve and caused extensive nerve damage to all my teeth, I lost partial eyesight and hearing and the damage will continue in my brain, depending on which way the tumors grows. Once I was diagnosed, my dentist would no longer finish half completed dental work and I have seen 28 different dentists and oral surgeons and none will take me as a patient because of the risks of hitting the tumor or causing worst damage they could be held liable for. If the severed nerve had been detected within 2 months of the injury, two top nerve reconstruction surgeons in the country said there was a possibility it could've been repaired. I have developed other health problems because of this tumor. I have chronic shingles of the central nervous system and get out breaks every 4-6 weeks. It goes in my eyes, mouth, ears and under the back of my skull (viral meningitis). I have Post herpetic nerve neuralgia and parts of my body go numb with no warning. I broke my foot in several places because my leg went numb. When the shingles goes in my inner ear, I get vertigo. throw up all my medications and throw myself into withdraws. My pain Center at Tennova was great, but the no longer do pain management. The new pain center is extremely expensive. Last month my bill was $264. when I used to pay $30 a month. my insurance premiums have triple in a few years and so has our deductible and my prescription for the oxycontin 20 mg has to be preapproved every 6 months and it takes weeks to get it done. I spent over $3,000 last month on medical bills and presscritions for my family and out house in now in foreclosure because of our medical bills. Now my pain center is insisting I go back to my therapist to get treatment for my anxiety and sleep disorder. My thyroid is out of control; normal range is .49 and mine is at 7.8 and causing my blood pressure to be out of control. I need refills on anti-virals from my infectious disease Doc. and they want me to see a Dermatologist for the shingles and the places I have such extensive nerve damage, my body is numb in spots and with the post herpetic nerve neuralgia, the pain lingers after the rash is gone. I only have 5 teeth left that haven't rotted from the severed nerve and fallen out. I can't even find an oral surgeon willing to pull my teeth for dentures. I can't afford to pay for all these specialists. I need to find a family physicians that can treat my other medical conditions and prescribe my pain meds. I have been at the same clinic they referred me to for almost 10 years. I have passed very drug test and pill count, or I wouldn't have been a patient there for that long. If I can't find a family Doctor willing to prescribe the meds I need, I am going to be forced to stop going to the new pain center I was referred to and have to pick and choose which Specialist i can see each month, depending on how much money we have. I can't take food out of my children's mouth, allow the electricity to be cut off or lose out home. My current family doctor refuses to prescribe antibiotics for the infections in my mouth, gums and the rough of my mouth, around the tumor. I have to ride out the pain from the infections in my mouth and pray they eventually go away. The ER won't even give me antibiotics for mouth abscesses because they say it is a dental problem and they are not equipped to deal with them. I haven't even met my yearly deductible ans 28 different oral surgeons and dentists have all refused to take me as a patient, so it would most likely be a huge waste of money because they refuse to do anything to treat me. I also have a huge hole in my stomach muscles (A large hiatal hernia) that requires surgery ASAP. I've had to put this on the back burner for now and the pain in out of control at times. Does anyone know of a family doctor that would agree to write me my narcotic prescriptions and also treat shingles, thyroid disease and nerve damage? If I can't fins someone, I will be forced to drop of out this expensive pain center and I honestly don't think I could survive with the little bit of quality of life I now have reduced down to being in constant severe pain. Does anyone have any advice for me, or the name of a family Doctor who would be willing to help? I have all my medical records to back up all my health issues. I am so stressed out and my anxiety is so bad I don't sleep more than 1-2 hours a night. I can't eat because of the torn muscles in my stomach and the fact I have no teeth and the ones I do have left are too painful to touch. I have never asked strangers for help, but I am desperate and don't know what else to do. I do know I cannot continue to live this way,

Hey Jar head or should I say Dic head the pain pill abuse is a nationwide epidemic not just the hillbillies. The pain med epidemic as a matter of fact is now more widespread in all major cities of every state. So take your criticism and stick it where the good Lord split ya.

The real problem in this country is not pain meds it's the junkies throwing the s*** in their arm like these plans. Those were created for terminally ill folks not knee and back pain. And yes I also put some of the blame on some of these greedy Dr's that have no morals. I've been on hydrocodone since 1995 from a severe auto wreck and about 3 yrs ago I tore my acl and 2 fractures in left knee. I got degenerative disc disease in my back, scoliosis and osteoarthritis buy my Dr quit writing my hydro's cause of the new laws and those that choose to throw it in their arm. Yes I agree with the guy earlier if it's just the high your after then go to rehab and quit making it harder for people that really need it. My opinion.

I am dealing with the same issues with methadone. Of taken as directed it will help you manage your pain. It does not completely take it away but of you have chronic pain you know this. I have been on it about maybe 12 years. My problem is the same thing.I recently moved here and have never had any issues with getting my pain meds. Until I moved here. I have never seen so many doctors run scared of a drug in my case can be tracked for the last 18 years and never been asked to leave a clinic failed a drug test missed a count or anything wrong.I have been walked. in on by d.c.s. over a child I have custody of and provided counts with no warnings.I need help because they are pulling me off methadone because they say I am over the state morphine level ( which im alergic to). They have taking me down to 25 mg. A day split up over three times a day. I have had a tri- level fusion on my spine and it is getting worse every day . I have had my chest carved open and lost my sternum four times in right months. Has a major heart attack at 37 and didn't even know about pain meds. Through most of that. It goes on and on and o feel like I am being punished for what is going on in this town. I need to find a doctor that still beleves in diet do no harm to their patients and will stand up for people like me through all that's going on with these fruit loops out here giving anyone on pain meds a bad name. I know this last time they lowered my pain meds is gonna out me in a nursing home and cause me to loose a child that has been badly abused and unwanted. She don't deserve to have to loose the only person she has ever had to care for her. I have been wheel chair bound twice and my body is actually in worse shape now. The methadone has what's helped me push myself to stay in my feet and keep going.

Active Pain Management off Cedar Bluff is another one. I paid my 40.00 co pay and walked out with nothing but a list of things for me to do. The first thing you have to do is do a sleep study at their facility then I was told I had to go to an orthopedic doctor. Stay away from those crooks
