PLEASE, I NEED TO KNOW IF LIQUID METHADONE COMES IN PINK OR IS IT WATERED DOWN because i have always got cherry red and never saw pink methadone until i got to this clinic and i take 150 mil. and with in 15 hours i need another dose. When i got cherry red i was able to take it every other day and i was fine. So can you PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON? THANK YOU.

you need to stop abusing the pills. opiates will only help with pain on a short term basis and if taken long term will only make the pain worse. the only perosn who should be on opiates long term is at the end of life or a cancer patient.u r just an addict and want to stay high. u need to get serious and stop using your pain as a way of getting high. pain is part of life just accept that and u will learn to live with it.

Yes I'm looking for answers an help with this whole new opiate laws something about a sliding scale equivalent to morphine on how many Mg's a person gets aday I been on opiates for 15+yrs an my doctor prescribed me 2 20mg oxycontin er an 6 15mg roxycodone ir for breakthrough pain I was age 27 give or take an disabled so they said no surgeries available looks like pain meds the rest of your life so by age 36 I'd been on quite a number of different types opiates an high doses as well I was getting 360 30mg Roxycodone 12tablets aday an also went from 20mg oxycontin 2aday with those up to 2 60mg oxycontin er daily also had morphine 30mg in the mix as well now these new laws an my doctor is retiring in like 2days the new doctor coming to take his place ppl said he's not giving out pain meds he's sending everyone on them to pain management an I'm already in pain management but it's at UVA in Charlottesville VA an it's a 3hr ride to get there so they seen me said we would put you on these meds but not here cause I live to far away so they sent my doctor a recommendation letter an if he signed it that would be great as I live like 2mins away so he signed it back when I was 27 I'm now 40 an worse now than ever also I live deep in the Blue Ridge Mountains an the only other PM doctor that gives out that much medicine does give the oxycontin 2 aday an the Roxy 15s an 30s only 4aday won't see me so I'm trying to find out about this tincture of opium as my stomach flips out on me like crazy even on 1or2 scripts of opiates as my doctor that's retiring left me a prescription for 10mg Roxy ir 75tablets amonth so if anyone has any clue how this tincture of opium works also a methadone tablet to take daily with it to help with my pain as suboxone subutex an liquid methadone does not help me at all plus can't find a private doctor that does monthly scripts for it that takes Medicaid an Medicare plus they don't help my pain an i feel like my only option would be in a pine box but if this tincture of opium an a methadone tablet works can any doctor that prescribes opiates can write prescription on monthly basis help me get on those 2 if I can find a doctor thanks an sorry so long for this post any Info would be great Ken in Virginia

Hello I'm Ken. I live in Virginia an just got out of a treatment center for detox. I'm supposed to be on pain meds the rest of my life. I've been on very high dose's of Oxycontin er for a ton of pain problems along with oxycodone ir for breakthrough pain an i started at age 22 by a panel of 4 pain management doctors an alot of evaluations. first we tried non opioid meds with tens units shot in my spine. almost paralyzed me an it was set to be 3 shots over a course of time but UVA back doctor called the shots off after the first time. so age 22 to 24 I went through the ringer an back with meds. tried over an over at home physical therapy pools hot packs cold packs. next thing I no I'm up to 600 to 800 Mg's of Oxycontin an Roxy 30s. I'm now 40yrs old, tolerance is out of control an I'm not sure what I need to do but in detox I got liquid methadone. it was reddish pink. not sure the dose amount but it did nothing for me. but I stuck in there an then I got back home the next day to go get suboxone treatment an the place they sent me to was nothing but crap. got there 9:45am got home at 3:00pm an got told they was going to help me an I was told well we can get you started some time in April, an I said I'm in pain, I'm sick, an I did everything I was told to do. an she said well it's new to us an so on. I said look I'm going to have to go get back on my meds if nobody will help me. I've been up for days, hot and cold stomach was bad from yrs of drinking alcohol from age 9 to my 30s. she said yes go back home an take small amounts of your pain meds till we can help you in April. I'm so angry and upset. the doctor's gave me all the opiates i needed from fentanyl patches to morphine, Oxycontin er, oxycodone ir, opanas you name it. I've been put on it an now I'm needing help to find a doctor to help me get off these opiates an cant find help at all. I never had a U/A for 15+yrs. I tried a methadone clinic, subs, Subutex, methadone. just a small amount not enough to see a tear drop in a cup but I couldn't afford like 2hr ride everyday an pay cash for dosing. I'm disabled got a family an I pay my bills. then I'm broke an I'm done with the hustling all the time. hell I'm just ready to do something crazy as I just can't seem to get help to get off what they give me for all those yrs as now all these new rules. the doctor is retiring an the new doctor is not going to sign off on my pain management referral. but does anyone no a doctor to help me that is in or near Lynchburg Virginia or Roanoke Virginia? like a private Doctor to go to on monthly basis for im not sure if for all my pain or help getting off the opiates. I'm so confused on where to go or what to do. like find a pain doctor or a doctor to help me get off the opiates an deal with the body an all my long-term pain. anyone that can lead me in the right direction plz reply back. I need help as soon as I can find it or get the help. Thanks.

those are the methadone crystals cyrstalising. If you notice when u take your dose ande leave an empty bottle laying out there will be crystals forming around the inside of the bottle

It's impossible to say for sure but NO methadone dispensed at clinics for addiction treatment in the USA DO NOT contain a noticeable sweet and cherry smell like you described. Sadly many addicts are willing to do anything in support of their addiction.

I hope serious minded sober individuals disregard ludicrous statements and accounts of this type. Methadone dispensed as liquid exclusively for addiction treatment is so inexpensive in bulk clinics tasked with constant oversight would never risk a cash cow money making enterprise by cutting someone's dose for cost considerations. That's not to say diversion and untoward manipulation by rogue clinical employees don't exist because THEY DO. Nurses are human and often face addiction disorders and like other addicts being treated will often stop at nothing to feed their own personal habit. I'm a recovering addict now drug free working in this industry but for years I worked under the influence.I was a coward and never risked my freedom by diverting this drug for personal use but after undergoing specialized treatment for medical providers exclusively the stories shared often pointed in that direction. I personally never witnessed this but I'm not naive enuff to believe it doesn't happen.My point is methadone maintence for those highly motivated clients has proven to be the most effective protocol available for treating chronic opiate addiction when all prior modalities of treatment have failed.with
Opiate addiction at epidemic proportions we need more evidence based treatment facilities to provide this opiate replacement therapy on a out patient basis BECAUSE IT WORKS.Please take the negative comments and consider the source.If someone has proof I urge you to proceed within the parameters available at individual clinics and obtain an advocate if you so need. Most of all let's support eachother because there are enuff haters trying to extinguish all forms of outpatient drug treatment facilities. God bless you all.

Yes liquid methadone does come in pink and yes it does look watered-down but if it came from an actual doctor and it was pink then most likely it was correct, but if it came from someone outside and it was pink and look really watered down most likely they diluted it with Tylenol that they buy from the dollar store.

It is different everywhere. I am from Alberta, Canada and here it is orange only cause the actual methadone syrup is clear and they mix it with orange tang here so it doesn't taste awful. I have heard people in other places say there is pink, green, red too.
The bottles it comes in out here is in individual 120ml brown medical bottles. I hope that helps

Addiction is when you abuse the drug and it causes problems in your life. Dont mistake dependent for addiction. People who take blood pressure meds would be in tough shape without it after two days also and thrre not running around abusing it. Would u say there addicted to there bp meds or dependent on it. Plz dont listen to anyone sitting behibd there keyboard writing mean uneducated opinions just to talk smack. And im wonderung how these low life ended up on a mdoan blog shoveling out non sense. Great use of your time bashing posts from people uve never met or walked a mile in thrre shoes while u sip wine every night

I live in Australia,the old methodone made by Glaxo is cherry colour,the pink watery methodone is bio done, they have tried to made methodone with less sugar much less,more gentle on belly, so you don't get constipated. Works same but I tend to prefer the Glaxo . Your post is old but thought I'd reply anyway. Good luck with it

I agree with your colorful description regarding the war on opiate/opioid containing Rx's.I too am a victim of over reaching regulatory bodies that make relief for us legitimate chronic pain sufferers difficult at best.But to put the blame solely on prescriber's is unfair.THERE IS PLENTY OF BLAME TO GO AROUND.
WHOM AMONG US after committing the better part of life to the art of modern medicine while accruing hundreds of thousands in debt would continue carelessly prescribing controlled dangerous substances in the face of overwhelming evidence that a national crisis exists and some remedial action may be necessary to stem the tide of losing a generation of good solid folks otherwise afflicted with this disease of addiction.NO HUMAN DESERVES TO SUFFER FROM A CONDITION WHEN MODERN ADVANCES HAVE BEEN MADE TO BETTER FOCUS TREATMENT ON COMPLIMENTARY MEDICINE.Unfortunately that old school mentality prohibits the contemplation that new school interventional pain modality MAY hold the answer to unrelenting agony.I realize this may not be a popular position for those preoccupied with opiates as the only protocol for painBUT AN OPEN MIND MAY BE THE ANSWER THAT OUR OPIATE BASED SOCIETY NEEDS TO GET OVER THAT MISCONCEPTION. I go to a Methadone Clinic for pain, because in the US there is a war on pain medication if it contains opiates. I went to a pain doctor for 16yrs. when the DEA came creeping around all the doctors started acting like scared punks, one after another, instead of standing up to the DEA like a so called professional should act. Of coarse there were some bad doctors, that did illegal s***. Anyhow I get my 110 mg and am good for 24hrs.

Hello, I'm sorry to hear your concerns. You husband is so lucky to have you. Unfortunately you can and people do abuse methadone. As it comes in larger amounts of liquid than general drug use it usually requires larger syringes or repeated administration. There would be a larger inj. site or multiple ones. If your fears are true then approach your husband carefully, drug abuse is serious and should be handled carefully. The last thing you want is to put him on the defensive. I hope this helps.
