Has your husbands doctors ever suggested infusion? I tried all the same things you listed and was concerned about tolerating (therefore going up and up on mg dosages of oral meds & crazy cocktails of meds). Then I tried lidocaine and ketamine infusions. I now do them every two months, have gone down on my oral meds by 80%, and have none of the annoying side effects that come with opiates. If you've never been offered infusions, please ask your docs. They saved me. GL!

I miss the old formula.. I have a spinal cord injury that causes constant pain and just makes life suck sometimes. My doctor is absolutely unwilling to prescribe anything but methadone, morphine er or oxycontin. It used to be that when the pain was really bad I could at least smoke a pill but can't do that anymore. And you'd think that living in Seattle would make it easy to get s*** on the side for the bad days, but not so when u have to get around in a wheelchair, it doesn't make u very approachable or anyone else very accessable. Hard to network that way. Wish it was easier to find a new doctor that'd be open to trying different meds with me so I wouldn't feel like I have to look for s*** elsewhere when I'm having a bad day. And to those with the hateful comments, pls just keep them to yourself. You don't know what it's like to be in ur twenties and feel like u have the body of an eighty year old

How do you afford his medication with no insurance? And if you don't mind me asking, how much does that much OC cost. I have insurance and my little bottle of 20mgx2/dayx30days (after insurance pays out) costs $193 after a $70 credit from the manufacturer rebate card given to me by the doctor.

30 mg oxycodone they alps come in 20 mg (gray) 15 mg (greens) an 10 mg (Pink) an even a 5 mg it's (white) u can do everything with these as u could with the original OCS. Ppl call them Roxie's the most expensive one the (BLUE) 30 mg is the most expensive. Prices vary from anywhere from $10-$30 depending. Best to get it in bulk

Insuffalating the time release is really bad for you honestly don't waste your time snorting ops just take 2 after carefully removing outer coating its still not IR but it will hit you hard other options that are better to snort; dilaudid , roxies, opanas ( be cautious opanas are stringers snortable pharmacy existant extreme amount of od potential I've lost many friends to it ), morphine IR, oxymorphone, etc etc there are many options which are more desirable and safer for you while taking you to nod land you also save yourself from pulling some nasty gel clumps out of your nose when it clogs up because you snorted time release like crazy if anyone has any questions about ops or any pill for that matter just reply

Here's the thing people. When u crush, snort, or smoke roxy or oxy (op or not), u are not even coming close to getting the full effect. I am a rec user and have been for a very long time and can say 100% for sure, u get more if u just take them as directed! The relief lasts longer and is 4 times stronger

You are so right, Seattle always had a large heroin problem but once they did this and got rid of OC's then all the "only" pill users ALL went to using heroin!! I think its more of a problem then them using the OCs...

This forum has been helpful but before even trying to read up on how to defeat the new OP oxys, I just tried {edited for safety} worked for me : ) A little background on me. Was heavily addicted to snorting over 320 MG of Roxi 30s every day, switched to Suboxone for a week, felt side effects and switched to Generic Subutex since 2010. I have been happy and not sick from my generic subs for years. Most recently I've been forced to wean off the subutex bc no doctors around here wanna prescribe subutex (I'm in Reno, NV) They all fall for the bulls*** that the big Pharma companies tell them and I get sick off regular suboxone films or tabs) Anyways this month I ran out of my subs early bc they gave me a bad generic and came across 12 OP 40mg. I've tried the cutting up and dissolve method and didn't have much luck. On a whim I decided to {edited for safety} Don't waste your valuable and pain ridden time searching on the net for ways to defeat these new OP oxys. I can confirm that if you just try to {edited for safety}... you will get a good dose of meds. It has to work bc I still have subutex in my system and felt a good buzz smoking one 40mg OP! Just break out a straw, foil, and lighter and it will work. I admitt, Not as strong as the originals but it still keeps me not sick. Never got into the whole heroin thing. IT IS SUPER HARSH ON LUNGS! But I beat it and screw the DEA and FDA for making us go through this!

Im sorry but I believe u r wrong bout a new company making the old type of ocs. Oxycontin(name brand co) filed a lawsuit claiming the generics werent made to standards. They lost & in the process Purdue was granted exclusive production of oxy. This means they r the only comp allowed to manufacture oxy. This is the only time 1 pharm comp has been given exclusive rights to a med. My pharmacist gave me this info & dateline covered it also. So I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for a new brand of ocs. I wish it werent true but it is. Giving Purdue exclusive rights has let them corner the market, prices r higher than ever & patients r left without options! As with all meds, everyone is different & their bodies react differently to the varying brands. Now we r stuck with 1 option, regardless if it works right or not. I hope I'm wrong & u r right,,there should always b options!

Just ask a doctor? First of all that's a fallacy, second doctors are very highly educated people with little to no street smarts and they have very skewed ideas about the dangers of drug abuse, because of their lack of first hand experience and the perspective that they would habitually acquire over 8 years of being fed centuries old ivy league ideals. Anything you do to get high is going to have negative health effects. The truth is, as it is with anything new, the real consequences just won't show up for the first few decades. If you want to get high get high 20 or 30 years from now when your dying of cancer I'm sure you wont feel any remorse.

I am a CPP and was doing fine swallowing the OC's. I didn't need to snort/chew/shoot/smoke/stick up my azz, the OC worked great for my pain. But now I am suffering like never before on these new OP's even with taking 6 perc's a day to boot. You should be ashamed of yourselves for ruining the best pain killer for people who REALLY suffer from severe chronic pain.

I am a chronic pain sufferer. My spine is falling apart over time as an indirect (or maybe direct) result of crunching it like an accordian in a car accident 18 years ago. I put myself through college and have worked full time for the past 7 years while on opiate pain mgmt. My doc suddenly left the clinic I am at, and I tried to kick. The pain was unbelievable and my mind went south. I took a month off work to kick. I ended up in a crazy situation and did cocaine ONE NIGHT. I got a UA from clinic. The new doc cut me off for breaking pain contract. No one will take me. I dont know what to do. I have some pills left, but when they run out I am afraid I am going to lose everything. I cant function without my meds. My career is at an all time high. I live in a rural area and have a GREAT (and high-profile) job in the community. If I lose it, I lose everything. I feel so hopeless, shamed and in dispair. Do you have any suggestions?
I also have MS Contin 30 mg ER. They just dont seem to do the trick. I have almost no energy and can barely stay well on them no matter how many I take. And at this point I am nursing them to last me as long as I can before I just curl up and die. Is there anything I can do with them to make them more effective?

No, the new Oxycontin OP have been specially designed to help prevent such abuse of the medication.

Even if you try to crush, chew or dissolve them, they retain their time released properties.

They work the same as the originals and may still cause the same side effects, such as: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and constipation.
