Teva 30mg Vs Aurobindo Pharm Amphetamine Salts (adderall) (Page 6)

Updated

For several years I've taken TEVA 30mg Amphetamine Salts 2x daily with consistent positive relief. Focus and a feeling that I could have a productive day gave me a reason to get out of bed. On 8/21/2014 all that changed to nervous anxiety filled days staying home. What caused the dramatic change quickly became clear. The generic Adderall produced by AUROBINO PHARM which my regular CVS Pharmacy filled my RX with on 8/21 was less than effective it was exasperating the very symptoms for which it was prescribed. FDA is an ineffective bureaucracy controlled by lobbyists for foreign and domestic pharmaceutical companies making huge profits in generic drugs at the expense of the health and quality of life of others. The manufacturing of inferior or possibly harmful medications by greedy corporations will continue to grow until a strong GOOD DRUG coalition is formed. Tomorrow I know I will be calling my pharmacy, CVS Corporation, my Dr., and make a report to the FDA. I will also try my damnedest never to purchase a drug produced by AUROBINDO PHAR.

Agrees on every point. I take 30mg brand Adderall IR and my doctor added 10mg afternoon "booster" per my request. Picked up dispensed prescription at 5pm and took one - gradual build up - no jitters, hyperness, headaches, confusion, fog, or dry mouth. Focus was great and I felt great (physically and mood). Perhaps its just new and will be different a month from now. But after one day, haven't felt this good in years.

I'm one of the people who doesn't mind AuroBindo. There's no question it is different then Teva and not as strong. I need to up my dose on it. I found it be less euphoric and less jittery then TEVA but still a strong enough amphetamine to put me to work.

I prefer Teva, and will get that next month but am not freaking out like some on here.

Re: Gineepig (# 101) Expand Referenced Message

My Doc wrote script today for Sandoz Adderall XR. As it turns out, Express Scripts now only covers the Adderall XR Brand from Shire. Pharmacist said the Sandoz co pay was $282!!...and the Adderall XR Brand by Shire copay was $20 bucks for 60- 30mg! Wow....I guess Shire pulled a fast one on Sandoz and Pracso their "Authorized Generic"... and the only difference is the name on capsule... in this case Shire. Extremely clean med! Love em!

OMG... I have been searching and hoping I would get some answers about why my Adderall is not working.
I refuse to take medication from India.
No wonder it cost .97 for my rx with my ins.

Everyone’s chemistry is different, however one thing I do know is that Aurobindo has to be speed and an opioid. I just took 1/2 and I am on the couch crossed eyed but my jaws are clinched. If I knew what rat poison did I would say this is it. This Manufacturer needs to be shut down. Clearly the Amphetamine is missing in my prescription. They FILLED it too much with trash, I feel retarded and lazy.

Agreed, Teva is way too Sweet. I have to avoid sugar due to being hypoglycemic and this Teva is going to make me a Diabetic. It also has caused severe stomach problems and I gained weight in my stomach that I can’t lose, very weird as I am in great shape and used to have hard abs but taking this sugar pill everyday is causing problems. I will ask for the chroma and see how that does.

Thank you,
Indigo Child

I’m not going to provide an argument proving generics aren’t identical. I’d win a debate with anybody, because they’re not identical. Instead, I’m gonna try to “feel out” the differences. I’ve taken a few, but most recently Teva and Aurobindo. At first Aurobindo sucked. It seemed weaker and less effective. For whatever reason, it didn’t lose effectiveness over a period of a couple months (plenty long for me to see a reduced effect in the past). However, after getting Teva again, I’ve identified the problem I have with Aurobindo. Aurobindo almost feels dirtier. It’s somewhat subtle, but it’s there. It feels less consistent and it affects me physically more. Dehydration, constipation, and heart rate are all increased on Aurobindo. Luckily I don’t get headaches on either one and I don’t get tired on either one. Teva conclusively works just as well, but it’s cleaner. It feels more consistent, it’s effective, and it’s side effects are much less significant. I don’t really think Aurobindo is total horses***, I feel like it does what it’s supposed to do 9/10 times. It just does so with side effects and unevenness even within one dose. It’s rougher, and not in a good/stronger way.

~The Scam: AuroBindo and the new "Adderall" from Teva~

AuroBindo's Adderall is crap like everyone says - It made my extremities numb, felt dirty, felt like getting something of bad quality from someone at a party.

We've all been told that generics are equal to the name brand and I believe this was true at one point... but sometime this changed in 2007~ when the Indian manufactures took over all the generics..and profits over quality came to be.

These crap medications are only allowed because pharmacies are complicit with it.. they don't give a rat's ass about quality or cost.... only what is the least expensive for them to buy so they make maximum money... so they keep pushing the lie that they are equal....because this means more money to them...and perpetuates the lie that the FDA is protecting the patient's interests.

But the scam grows deeper... They are now labeling a new version by Teva as actually the named brand "Adderall"... They look like the old pills but this time have a "DP" logo and are CHARGING name brand price... I got burned by AuroBindo so I requested Teva and got this new version. They billed my prescription 225.00 for a 30 day course....meanwhile the previous month billed my insurance 55.00 for the month... shocked that my insurance allowed me to get this "name" brand... and that they are calling this the non-generic version.

The new version, in my opinion, has much less strength compared to the old ones by Teva...I also feel the formula is somewhat different. It takes longer to work compared to the old Teva. However it is definitely better than AuroBindo, Mallinckrodt & Mylan.

What say you about this new Teva and AuroBindo product?

Re: Ehhh (# 106) Expand Referenced Message

No generics are not equivalent to brand names. For those with asthma and using Xopanex, one can clearly experience the GI issues with generic Levalbuterol, as compared with Xopanex. Also, those of us who suffer from Asthma and use Xopanex, the tremors from generics, the sheer "thickness" and inefficacy of generic Xopanex is self-evident.

Just recently, I had the chance to speak to a pharmacist in GA. And he unequivocally agreed with me that generics are not equivalent to brand names.

It's a scam. The rich still purchase brand names. But the rest of us are forced to buy generics and told to believe the lie by the medical profession, the insurance companies and others.

People who have suffered at the hands of contaminated, low standard generics need to take it up with the pharmacies who are complicit in this egregious practice. I pity the poor children who are forced to consume brain, soul, spirit and life-destroying generic medications for ADHD and ADD etc. Hardly anyone needs these life-destroying drugs. Amphetamines. Especially the generics such as Aurobindo, Teva and others. Imagine, little kids who have no say being forced to consume these meds that lack standards. (For Heaven's sake! Indian pharma producers openly admit that their manufacturing standards and ingredients are of low quality - that they wouldn't make a profit if they kept up with European standards). I shudder to think that parents continue to believe the untruth about generics and ADHD and ADD meds.

I do not believe that Teva is allowing Aurobindo to produce their "brand" version.
Give me proof.

Just got the Aurbindo U30 generics. Tastes terrible and crumbles everywhere when split in half. How much filler is in this? I put it in my water glass to see if it dissolved and left a lot of remnants. Anyone else try to see if it dissolves in water and have a bunch of orange dust at the bottom? Curious if it's actually real.

Re: Ehhh (# 106) Expand Referenced Message

I've had pretty much the same experience with variability and side effects. It makes me tired, but I think that has more to do with the dehydration than anything else. If I chug enough water, I'm okay. I have found that the crash is really rough, particularly my post-med hunger.

I don't know what anyone can do about the medication. Most pharmacies are carrying it, they can't/won't order the brand you want, and a lot of people have to stay on the generic because of their insurance. It seems like we're stuck between a rock and a hard place.

I've been taking 20mg generic Adderall for 10 years. For the most part, it's been round pink pills by Impax. They were inferior to the peach football-shaped ones, but in time, began to work.
This last refill I received round peach pills by Aurobindo. They might as well be sugar pills. They do NOTHING, causing me to take twice as many as prescribed. This causes me to be mean as a snake plus weak by the end of the day. I called the pharmacist who said he had received no other complaints other than mine and had 1000 more of that brand, so my next will be the same pills! I work for a major clinic and obligated to get my prescriptions through mail-order from our home clinic in order to get 100-day supply for the cost of a 30-day supply. I think I'm going to have to ask my PCP to write me a script for the name brand. I can't think of anything else to do, but I'll ask who the manufacturer is before sending any generic refills in in the future!

So frustrating! It seemed like CVS was changing their generics every other refill. I just switched to Walgreens after calling around to find who has a better generic adderall. Find out the cost difference and see if it's worth it

Switched from XR to IR after telling my doc I was getting 10 a month from a friend and felt those worked better. Friend always had COR. I just got Auroviedo'ver and we'll make you feel better.

Need 60 instead of 30, told my Indian doc that I didn't think this brand was as good as the XR and generally I don't mind Indian drugs.

He said there is no doubt that most generics are not as good as brand when it comes to stimulants. Hes going to contact my insurance and insist on brand.

Anyway the psychiatrist surprised me I thought for sure he would tell me it didn't matter.

Aurobindo for me is the best. Works without the wicked side effect profile of Teva. Teva for me was basically an energy/diet pill. Aurobindo gives me the calmness and focus adderall is supposed to.

I have only recently been prescribed Adderall. My only experience so far is with Sandoz. I have had abdominal pain; research led me to the discovery that Sandoz uses the inactive ingredient lactose monohydrate. For that reason, I am going to ask for a different generic next time. I have ruled out "brand" for the moment since it is very expensive and not covered under my Humana insurance plan (unbelievable that they won't cover a brand).

My prescription was filled the other day with aurobindo. This crap made me sick to my stomach, dizzy, worst migraine I have had in years, tired and physically lazy. I feel like I am on depression meds or something.

I've taken Adderall for probably 15 years. I take 20 mg IR. Typically they are the football-shaped peach or pink ones. This month they are round peach ones from Aurobindo and they are completely ineffective. I usually take 10 mg at a time and on an emptyish stomach, that works well for me. I need them to stay awake during the day. Today I wound up taking 30 mg over the course of an hour and fell asleep for over an hour. I keep checking to make sure I didnt accidentally take a Klonopin until it occurred to me that it might be the manufacturer. They are horrible, totally ineffective and I have also been having pains in my upper right abdomen. Perhaps it is unrelated but I swear my liver or my stomach hurts since starting these. I emailed my pharmacy and hoping I can return and get more because there is no way I can function on these. If you get these, please be careful. Aurobindo generic Adderall is garbage. They also don't have the sweet taste that every other generic has.

Aurobindo Adderall, or as my bottle says, “Amphetamine Salts,” is horribly defective. After my first dose, I knew something was wrong, taking my prescribed dosage the next day, it confirmed what everyone has been saying online since about 2014. I had all the adverse side effects others have described, most notably a sinking feeling in my chest and a severe headache that lasted 10 hours. Feels nothing like Adderall, and just made my inattention worse on top of the unexpected side effects.

I can’t believe it’s now almost 2018 and this crap is still on the market. Makes me sick.
